  • too high but otherwise an almost perfect landing

  • home sweet home?

  • just a little too high but great landing!

  • short runway

  • Those were beautiful landing light effects. I've never seen anything like it. Is it unique to Schiphol?

  • Your cockpit-view videos are the best ones on YouTube... honestly!

  • i dream of becoming a 747 pilot when i get older, but im worried. i have a couple questions. how long are you usually away from home? were you able to start your own family?

  • is this a little bit fast landing?

  • this is pass soft landing !!! wow .......... what is a puffy german treat for the pilot??

  • yo,

    mooie landing :)

  • Being an A&P Technician for 40 years (retired...or just tired), I can tell you that the 747 is a very easy aircraft to fly and maintain. SuredT is an excellent pilot as are all of KLM's flight crews. Have worked with many of them in the past and can assure everyone that when he says something, it is the gospel truth. Their aircraft are maintained and flown by professionals.

  • Imagine the daily forces that those massive brake disks have to endure!

  • Did yuou use reverst thrust? I couldn't hear anything apart from autospoilers extending...

  • geweldige videos man.

  • @infraredmoditronic Yes and your mom was in it.

  • When did you even land?

  • i guess its understandable that he used the last taxi way since its 747(JUMBO JET)!!

  • @elDONO007 He vacated the 36C at the W3 taxiway which is the 3rd to last.

Not the W1 (last vacating taxiway). The last you can easily indentify as it is a 90 degrees turn and not a 30-45.

  • He landind around 48 FPM, THATS AMAZING!!

  • woah..quite high on papi..and nearly went at the end of the runway...but still smooth landing..great job..

  • I didn't even know you get a 747 that smooth!!! I heard '10' from the GPWS and waited for the thud, but it didn't come. The only thing I heard was the spoilers deploy. B-E-A-utiful landing!

  • Was dit een manual landing??

  • Beautiful

  • why you come in so high on papi's?

  • nice landing but the pilots break a big rule: why are not the landing lights on????

  • @footballfreak1904 The landing lights are on. It's just difficult to see them through the camera. But to the men/women up front they'll be lighting up the runway quite nicely.

  • where do u get these cocck shots from?

  • @immo121

Probably cos the guy filming is sitting there?!

  • that's just awesome

  • i wish flight simulator was more realistic with the night visuals like in this video.. pitch black, all you can see is the lights its just beautiful

  • looks like a pinball machine..

  • very smooth landing respect

  • Good Lord, that was smooth.

  • I love landing at night on schiphol...

  • Been to Amsterdam 5 times !

  • Cracking!

    JC

  • prolly good headwind i wouldve hear egine whine coming donw a litel if u have headphones

  • I can't even hear the touchdown point, very smooth.

  • look like FSX

  • @Rafal102able No, FSX looks like this. Because this is real life, and FSX was modeled after real life.

  • @MyFSXVideos Of course :)

one way or another this is totally awesome clip :)

  • @MyFSXVideos no fsx looks like a cartoon compared to some simulations.

  • are landings all manual or autopilot?

  • @1955porsche both, it depends on conditions some aircraft can land in almost zero visibilty with autoland, but otherwise usually the last 100-300ft are manual if the conditions give way.

  • SMOOOOOOTH GUY!!!. what a landing!.

  • amazing

  • i dont get the taxi ways here when there going to park at the gate im not a pilot i always see the weird taxiways to the jetway in videos

  • nice video! smooth landing ;)

  • The PAPI shows white??

  • Great landing, and soooooooooooooooo smooth one, I like when you start to say (in all your videos), seventyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, sixtyyyyyyyyyy (for a whiiile) ............. ground speed, fiftyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ............. ground speed :D, very coool, Thanks for sharing, waiting more videos from You Captain ;)

  • amsterdam is a difficult airport to taxi on on vatsim ;P with mega airport amsterdam..

  • one question..after u had landed, how did you able to know which gate to go/park at..i've been wondering..

  • @syafiqpilot once you land and slow to a reasonable taxi speed the tower if it is a controlled airport will tell you to turn next taxi way or something of the like. Once you turn they will tell you to contact ground on whatever freq. you will get clearance to parking or gate or whatever and they give directions like "via taxiway alpha and turn on bravo" thats why when you're on a plane you see signs on taxiways with numbers and letters. its for navigating the airport.

  • Okay thnx..what if the plane must turn left which is taxiway alpha and accidentally overshoot to tango...what will happen?

  • Well if you look at an aerial snapshot of an airport you can see how most taxiways are linked together in some kind of way so you have some redundancy if you miss a turn or something there is ususally another taxiway that will get you where you need to go.

  • Alrite thnx mate..

  • anytime

  • do you play fsx??

  • I played Fsx for about a year but then got fs2004 and logged about 400 hours on that because I was having problems with Fsx. Once I figured out all the problems one day someone restored our computer to the day before i installed it so blehh! But I currently play fs2004 bcuz i have the most addons for it. I hope this helped.

  • @syafiqpilot Then the controller must find out how to get the plane safely to where it is suppose to be. Mostly it can just take an alternative route.

  • yes thats correct ;D

  • Havent seen as smooth landing...! Amazing!

  • Wow...very smooth landing. I would like you to be my captain! :)

  • beautiful video, very smooth landing (and filming).

    great upload!

  • Lekker!

  • beautiful landing, that little pull on the yoke after it said 10 is what made it beautiful... good job!!

  • And the timing in closing throttle!! High skilled pilot!! Amazing!! Great job!!

  • what kind of approach was this? are night landings supposed to be ifr all the time?

  • i'm not an expert but I think all commercial airliners are supposed to be IFR.- even in the daytime. (please correct me if I am wrong)

  • Comment removed

  • that's what i thought... but i know they can do visual approaches... i'm not sure about night time visuals.

  • i think visual approaches are still on IFR as the Controller tells them to line up onto the runway

  • yes all commercial flights are IFR but not always is the landing using the ILS. However, you're right--even visual approaches are IFR flights but the controllers give vectors to final.

  • That's not true. I mostly fly IFR but VFR is allowed. I fly at the B737NG for KLM. A friend of my flies sometimes from TNCM to TNCC VFR in the B744 KLM.

  • yes ;)

  • Awesome Video ! Excellent Landing at EHAM.

  • Amazing videos! What airline do you work for? KLM? (because the blue cone) Cause it seems you've travelled all around the world!

  • nice videos!... keep on posting videos!

  • thank you for the post. awesome:)

  • Wow.. I've never seen a landing on 36C before! Is this only at night or something?

  • Hay, I'll do this comment in English so everybody will understand. I'm pilot on KLM B737NG and we are not allowed to land on certain runways at each time. You can look on a Jeppesen chart of the airfield EHAM/AMS for the times.

  • That landing was so smooth i didn't realised he landed until i heard the speedbrakes. good job. 5*

  • How do you see the threshold at night?

  • you got touchdown lights which are those lights that you see after the set of green lights at the biginning of the runway.

  • oh ok, thanks

  • Thereshold lights are different with runway lights. The thereshold lights are red, and the runway lights are white.

  • Threshold lights are always green. There for you have the approach lights. On Schiphol it's called HIALS. In UK it's mostly Calvert-2. The red lights are the lights that says there is a 'Displayed Threshold' what means you're not allowed to land on the beginning of the runway. You have to pas the Green lights. Then you'll have the touchdown lights. That are the white ligths between the Centerline and the Runway Edge Lines

  • I think is the best landing in normal meteo condition i've ever seen. nice, nice nice! Can't wait to do that. I'm in school :D

  • Is it just me or was the PAPI showing 3 white for most of that approach?

  • at night planes are comming in higher at schiphol if im right

  • Because the 747 cockpit is a lot higher than other aircraft its usual for the papi to show 3 whites or even 4 closer to touchdown. Its still the right altitude, just a higher viewpoint.

  • wow nice view

  • can he be a fake pilot?

  • of course not!!! hes just an average Joe that took a 747 and wanted to land it at night.....

  • high tech view landing you know film a landing ...........congratulations

  • Reminds me of my landing there last year!!! Night landings in Amsterdam are so beautiful, words can't describe. Those yellow boxes that u saw out of the windows are glass houses for crops. they're all over the place which makes it that much more magical. Nice landing btw. Nicely done! :D

  • what a smooth landing and a beautiful view from the cockpit.

  • leuk filmpje mooi gemaakt ook echt super

  • right before he touches down it looks like an old atari 2600 game!

  • super dooper..

  • Nothing better than a beautiful night landing.

The lights remind me of Chrsitmas...

  • You should see a night landing in New York, either Newark or JFK.

Manhattan looks SO cool from a plane, especially at night

  • I bet, New York is basically daytime at night with all the city lights.

  • I went to New York in Januray this year, and that view, flying in parallel to Manhattan landing at Newark was the most beatiful sight! It was at night!

  • Yeah I know! I loved it.

  • wow nice landing!!!

  • landing lights

  • The landing was really smooth!!! I almost didn't notice the touch down.. Awesome landing Mr. Pilot =D

  • Seems like a short runway for a 747.

  • 36C at Schiphol is 3300m long and of those a maximum of 2850m is available for landing. From the video I think this flight touches down just after taxiway W7 (almost 1000m from threshold) and vacates at W3, which means its ground run is only around 1300m.

  • Wow, I guess the view is just deceiving. Thanks for the info.

  • Makes me sleepy, and dreamy.

  • beautiful video ! smooth landing !

  • landing lights?

  • What's the landing speed SuredT?

  • i like the reflections on the nose on final.

  • LOVE YOUR VIDS

  • super video !!!

    greets from PoLaNd

  • ya ever flown to Minneapolis (MN) Airport?

  • I dont think KLM goes there.

  • in fact klm fly's to there in the A330

  • this is so amazing

  • Wow the plane landed so smoothly.

    5 stars!

  • 1 nm= 1852 mtrs

    1 sm= 1609 mtrs

but here we r talking about aviation so nm is the right mesure

  • nice landing

  • Very nice. :)

  • How do you fix the camera to the glareshield/control panel? Which camera do you use?

    Very nice video!

  • Hey this is very dark man! how you see the runway number? and the taxi line?

  • IFR approach you dont need to see to land :) track the localizer or NDB you get distance both vertical and horizontal readings.

  • you know there are lights on the taxi way right? and those big bright lights on the runway...

  • I just love your videos =D

Thnx for uploading such nice vids =)

    5*

  • SuredT owns

  • >SuredT

    Thank you!

  • I envy you more than you could ever know!!!

  • Is this really 36C..?

  • Yep. Highway is A4 just before touchdown. Airport on the right side.

  • What did You say part of 1.11 and 1.35

  • Speedbrakes up.

    Groundspeed

  • very nice video

  • does anyone know what that drill sound is we hear before takeoffs and after touchdowns ?!

  • Flaps

  • Awesome, you should put up more night stuff, espically we need more take-offs please thanks

  • i like landings more

  • I like landing and take-off equally. We should see more of each!

  • what a landing!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic Videos! I'm an avid Flight Sim fan and a 747 nutter!

Flying 747's as a day job eh? Someones gotta do it ;)

Minimums is the decision height where the Flight Crew decide wether to go for a landing or a go around if a landing cannot be committed to for any reason, This is as seen on the approach charts for the airport arrival! and manually entered.

The ICAO code for Schipol is EHAM,

Fab video's sir all of them, More Please?

    H

  • Thank you for all this beautiful pictures (st marteen, san francisco, curacao)and don't pay attention for stupid comments of bad guy.

    Kiss David

  • what are minimonts?

  • you mean at 0:50 ? it not minimonts it's Minumums (well they say Aproaching Minimums (500m) onboard PC in the aircraft ;)

  • yes. thanks, but what does minimums mean?, well when they say 'minimums'?

I dont understand the concept of the onboard pc saying it.

  • I belive its the point where the pilot needs to have visual contact with the runway, if not, he/she needs to abort the landing..I also think that if hes lading by instruments, thats the time when the autopilot automatically turns off, leaving the pilot to decide whether to land or not.

  • The Autopilot doesn't turn off automatically. On and ILS, the pilot can select the Approach hold which will follow the glideslope and localizer. Should the pilot decide to land by hand, once he has the runway visual, (or around 5 miles) he/she can disengage the AP and land. "Minimums" is the Decision Height for the approach that is selected (Usually 200AGL). At Minimums, the pilot will announce "Landing". If the runway is not insight, he will announce "Going Missed" (Approach). Hope this helps.

  • 1 miles equals to how many metre?

  • 1.6 km

  • 1 statute mile equals 1.6 kilometers or 1.600 meters

  • 1 mile = 1,609.344 meters

  • Minimums it is weather minimums at which the pilot can land the plane itself if they do not see a runway should declare go around, I so understand it

  • that was smooth :D

  • Smooth landing! Are you Landing lights on or only taxi lights, because it's so dark!

  • Excellent touchdown!

  • What is the airport ID for Amsterdam??

  • Amsterdam ICAO: EHAM. If your looking for anything else to do with EHAM search it on Wikipedia.

  • smooth landing 5*****

  • I think this is a best Airport.. I love Amsterdam:P

  • haha met, you should try landing 18R I think it is and then taxi to something like Gate: Foxtrot 8. Now that takes about 30mins itself. The taxiway goes through woodland. EHAM is huge.

  • yeah 18R, you have to taxi over a river!

  • SuredT You gat the best videos on here man!! Do u ever fly to Boston Logan?

  • KLM doesn't fly to Logan.

  • This is Schiphol Airport Amsterdam not Logan...
