Normally I don't spend my time replying to people who know nothing of what they are speaking about, but you seem like a special brand of idiot. Normally, at the beginning of a drawing, one starts with an outline. Ever heard of it? It acts as a guide to keep you on track. have you ever inquired the fact that photoshop is still art and this is in-fact art? In addition, he did in-fact paint this you watched him use the "BRUSH TOOL" as well as collecting the colors from the "ACTUAL PICTURE". how ever, have you ever done portraits or done anything that deals with painting in photoshop? If you did you would know that he got the image from the web and did a digital or a print sketch of this first then used the the actual pic to grab his colors for the paint.

You say the technique used may be as you put yourself "primitive" but I would rather look at it as something that people have learned to do and is an advancement. Its a funny choice of a word considering how advanced the software its made with is. Artists long ago could only dream of it. In a sense though it is the software and computer that is primitive because It hasn't evolved to be able to make art completely on its own accordance like us. Score +1 for human evolution.
