Sorry but that is wrong. When the convicts came to Australia in 1788 Many of them came from Irish or other European countries. Convicts who were not of English ancestry were considered trouble and were the first to be shipped to Australia. In the 1800's many white Europeans also traveled to Australia as free citizens. My Australian ancestry is German (from the 1850's). Most of the people where I live are of dutch or Italian descent and have been here for over 100 years.
