Rastafarianism is a very strict belief system and Bob Marley devoted himself to that belief system. And some of us may think it was stupid for him to not amputate his foot and stay alive for at least a few more years, because in all honesty there would be no guarantee he wouldn't get cancer again. Bob believed that his time had come and didn't fight it. Because he believed enough in what came after and Jah (God). Respect that fearlessness.
I never cease to be so drawn in when Bob Marley speaks. People who associate him with marijuana - and skew his legacy attempting to profit from the pop culture icon status he achieved despite little interest in it himself- may fail to miss the wisdom this man gave to us while he was on this earth.

we need to reach 100,000 signatures by the 04/08/2012 even if your not convinced on the specifics we need to push this issue where ever possible and show them that we are not going to be pushed around any longer. Thanks
ps pls thumb this up and re post any where you think it will get seen by fellow tokers and like minded souls)
he had cancer in his toe nt foot and he said he came in to this world with everything so he was goin to leave with everything that is why he did not cut it off RASTAFARI FOREEVER PURE
true that. also, I trust that Bob KNEW that it was too late for cutting off the toe to do any good. Bob certainly knew he was a marked man and was living on borrowed time.
@gwanjaman Nobody killed Bob Marley. He died of Cancer and was forewarned by doctors of the melanoma in 1977 and advised to have his foot amputated but he ignored the advice
@compress Rastafarians also believe in a dictator who embezzeled his nation's wealth and had dogs who lived more luxuriously than his own subjects, who never even proclaimed himself to be God on earth. If you want to take their advice over medical experts, you are effectively ignoring esteemed opinion over blind superstition
@jackwilshiresfakeid I didn't say anything about taking their advice, I was merely correcting you. Bob Marley knew the consequences of not choosing to amputate and he made an informed desicion based on his own beliefs. That by any means is respectable. The quality of your life is what's important, not trying to extend it for as long as you possibly can.
@jackwilshiresfakeid lol you can say that about any religion tho, i could find a script like that in most holy books...To him its what he believed. ofc he gna believe it over medical shit... How can you believe in the after life, but not believe that spiritual healing will work... I recon the way he saw it was. it was his time...and if he sought spiritual healing through prayer and it worked then god had changed his mind, but to outright go against his decision and seek treatment. im 'athiest'
This is not Bob Marley's last interview. If you saw pics of him in 1981 during the treatment he looked far worse. The interviewer also talks about his 'present album Survival' which was released in 1979. This interview is a good 2 years before his death

@jackwilshiresfakeid He didn't ignore the advice. He chose to not amputate because it is against what Rastafari's believe.

@compress I think quality of life is quite easily achieved even with an amputated foot

@jackwilshiresfakeid That has nothing to do with anything I just said.
