looked like hellsing to me too but in the end basically only similairities are the red costumes, both real short(this is 12ep) and the fact that both main characters are strong vampires

Then I guess you didn't see Hellsing Ultimate OVA. Which is now currently being dubbed by FUNimation, and it's superb. Even better than FMA, Bleach and Blood+
