Curious as to where this was recorded. It's an outdoor show, and I seem to remember these guys playing at the Seneca County Fairgrounds back around this time.
I'm also a little confused as to why NWOBHM is tagged here, as The Rods are most definitely NOT a British act. They're from Cortland, NY...
The Rods - featuring Ronnie James Dio's cousin David Fenstein on guitar and vocals. This is my favourite Rods track from the "In The Raw" album. I had this album way back when but then lost it in a flood. Wish I could've seen them live.
The Rods are playing at The Haunt in Ithaca on May 16, 2009. Details forthcoming. Visit their myspace or facebook accounts for more details! RODS RAWK!
Canedy's drumming is unbeleivable on this, it's hard to hear through this recording but he's incedible. I love how the solo builds and climaxes; it's a great little piece on it's own.
This looks like the Beacon Theater in NYC The Rods opened for Twisted Sister. Great show by both bands although at the end the fans tore up the place ripping chairs up from the floor. Great times back then.
LOOKIHERE, I was at that same show. I was at the left side of the stage and I can't tell if that's the same show. The stage looks really big, and I don't think The Rods could've pulled in that big a show on their own, so I imagine it probably is the Maiden show. That's no slight to The Rods—they're one of the best!
Man... this brings back memories... I think this was somewhere in Queens. I can't remember the name of the place. I was the road manager for the band and ended up having to run the lights for the show when Gary Dallaire (Dave's Guitar tech) and Billy Beck ( lighting guy and Gary's setup tech) got into a fight before we left for the show and Billy quit. Gary had a habit of pissing people off. ;) By the way in case anyone's interested that's Al Caskey fixing Carl's drums. Thanks for the video!!!!

I was there-I remember Carl's cymbal coming loose on the drum part at the end. Was a great show!

Wow! I had seen The Rods open up for Iron Maiden at the Pallidium. 19? Is this clip from that concert? ? Great, Real, power trio!
I personally could not say much for Maiden after seeing these guys.
