In this country, legislation forbids blocking of exixting roads. Big oil sells concessions they deem not profitable any more to small "cowboy" companies who cut every environmental corner they can because they are invisible to international scrutiny.
That's the biggest danger we see for the moment. Solution ..?
Okay, the oil company is harmless to the environment & animals. But what happens when they leave. They have laid roads and cleared the forests for the poachers to enter and hunt. Their job becomes so easy because of the oil companies. Like they make the place green again, the oil companies should destroy the roads and make it un-useable once they are done. This is how they can exhibit their real concern towards nature and towards saving wildlife. Else the threat to wildlife and nature remains.
No propaganda. Just a story based on facts for a small child. Firstly, this country is not poor. Secondly, big oil under international scrutiny does much less damage then does logging by Malaysian and Chinese companies. Once the oil company leaves the forest, logging and poaching will destroy it ! Corrupt government officials will ask for huge bribes, then look the other way. That is the real problem.
Sorry, but I can't condone the fact that oil companies exploit poor countries for their natural resources. This sweet little propaganda video is sickening. Who's trying to fool who here? Hope you realize the truth..
