  • The 5 people that disliked this video obviously know absolutely nothing about REAL music.

  • I've heard so many covers of this song and few even come close to matching the passion of the original, but holy freaking crap. I cried. I very rarely cry from music. But this? Floodgates open. Absolutely stunning. I'm amazed the judges could even speak afterward. I probably would've been too busy trying to keep my makeup from running while I bawled my eyes out, lol. I don't know what the group's doing now in terms of recording, but when (not if!) their album comes out, I'm there.

  • I think that's the only performance Ben has ever stood up for.

  • 4:12 people in the front row aint never been to church I guess. I know if that were all black folks in the front row. Nurses and Ushers would be handing them fans right at that point.

  • @nozzyboibeats hahahahahahahahah YES!

  • AFRO BLUE! This was so awesome! All the judges were standing up and Sarah was jumping up and down. I have watched this nearly EVERYDAY since it was posted. Go Blue!

  • at 4:05 they tore me down. couldn't hold back at that point.

  • what screwed AB was the judges feedback--one week they were saying they were too jazzy or too cerebral and the next week they would say that they werent jazzy enough and needed to go back to their jazz roots.

  • this gave me sooooo much life!!!!!!

  • dys is the only group where every person cud do lead even tho christie is the best singer male or female on here they r jst the complete package that got screwed because of 2 horrible judges

  • this performance brought tears to my eyes

  • omg.. is anybody else listening to this girl sing? How did she get so good?

  • i literally get goosebumps every time i listen to this. afro-blue didn't get to showcase how brilliant they are during the show due to being confused by the input from the judges but this song embodies their talent. it doesn't focus on their jazzy style (american-boy did that best I think) but it does show their growth during the show and their ability as a group. much love to afro-blue!

    HU! U KNOW!

  • You know UM shoulda gone home when Ben Folds actually stands up for you! I mean i was never much a AB fan but i liked some of there performances, but i absolutly hated UM with a passion and after this, AB shoulda stayed.

  • @tehfundibulous not a fan of Afro Blue? Are you also not a fan of candy & rainbows & and other things that are wonderful? Smh...

  • Reggie looked like a choir director back there!! Lol

  • Their best two songs of their whole time on Sing Off, maybe even the best performances on the entire show! That was sung so beautifully! How can you take off a group after that? UM can't even keep pitch, it amazes me how they got on Sing Off in the first place! It should've been AB, DA, and PX in the finale. Choosing between DA and AB is tough. But I feel like AB could've won if they made it to the fan vote. That gave me chills and tears. They're going places!

  • HO - LY - CRAP!

  • This group is amazing and I wish them the best.

  • I think that Afro Blue is an amazing group.

  • that was amazing :)

  • @elysiumx2 I agree...

  • Guys, the competition was like a month ago. Instead of still complaining about "what could have been" lets enjoy this amazing performance.

  • I just don't understand why they were sent home after his? I mean:

UB (All of the Lights) - No standing ovation - gets called out first

PTX (Dog Days are Over) - Standing ovation from Shawn - gets called out second

DA (Shout) & AB (this) - Standing ovation from all judges - get in the bottom two ???

Come on, we all know UB wasn't that good <_<

  • @elysiumx2 it was obviously setup by the producers of the show to add some tension. yea the judges loved it but it wasnt their choice. at the end of each episode when they show the credits and the producers and stuff it will say All decisions are discussed with the producers and judges of the show and the final choices may be chosen by the producers of the show.

  • The right group won, But!!! This group was soooooo amazing!!!!

  • @Music4lyfe528 You mean the White group won. lol. The most talented group...AB...lost.

  • @Deerych exactly.... -_-

  • @Deerych there's a darker skin guy named 'Kevin' in the winning group. he's the percussionist. the female of the group is named 'Kirstie' and she's Hispanic. thats already 2/5 of the group that isnt white so dont try to put this on race and it being in favor of white people.

  • @chickennoodlesoup901 Avi is a Jew. Just sayin.

  • @Deerych If you think about it not one white person was in Nota or Committed, the winners of Seasons 1 and 2 so you can't blame this show for racism against non-white groups

  • LOVE this group, they should have won, but i know they will be successful!

  • am i the only one who appreciates the percussionist in this group? hes amazing probably one of the best along with kevin.

  • @chickennoodlesoup901 Thank you! I am definitely IN LOVE with Reggie, but Brian deserves a ton of credit too- he's fantastic!!

  • I'm not a fan of Afro Blue but this was just... Wow. Amazing.

  • I love pentatonix reaction!!!!

  • Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue! <3

What's done is done. I just want them to make a record.

  • Man did anybody else see how heartbroken shawn was when AB got voted off? Tonix and DAs have my respect! How u gon keep UM is beyond me? Mike is a beast along with mohawk dude, but the rest especially that brown haired girl....GARBAGE!

  • listen to this song but only try to listen for reggie. what he does is so amazing. i have never heard a bass as good as he is...

  • Sara was absolutely right about Christy (Kristie?) and her vocal. Gut-wrenching.....cathartic...she has something substantial DEEP inside her soul and.....that TONE! Holy MOLY!!!!!! I seriously can't stop weeping every time I watch this. It is triumphant! And WHAT a representation of what Sam Cooke was trying to communicate with this song. Awesome!

  • Seriously....look at the reaction from Sara, Shawn, Ben, Avi & Kevin.......The feel in the room was electrifying. I still can't believe that didn't win them a spot in the finals. UM had as many poor performances as AB did...the difference is that AB's were ambitious but ended up almost train wreck-ish. Urban method's were just kind of boring. I'll take a swing & a miss over boring ANY day of the week.

  • ahhhh 3:21 ....seriously seriouslyyyy! Afro Blue just ahhh! Musicians tapping into the neo soul age will know exactlyyy what i'm talking about!

  • I still don't understand how they went home after a performance like this. This was AMAZING!!!

  • I just noticed @ the bottom of the screen @ 3:01, u can see Shawn waving his fist in the air...LOL! I totally understood where he was coming from!

  • top 4 should have been afro blue, pentatonix, dartmouth aires, and delilah with vocal point slightly behind, imho

  • their last two performances were one of the best! and it pisses me off that they were sent home! fuhk urban method they should have been gone before delilah! UGGGHH

  • that was amazing! i love love love this group i was keeping up on you tube when i could I hate that they got voted off something to be said about the powers that be.... hmmmmm

  • DA and UM are still there??

    DA(y)UM!!

  • @coldcalliope You stated: Wow. That was amazing! How they got eliminated is beyond me. The final two should have been Afro Blue and Pentatonix-point blank. No offense to DA but they are just not on the same level as these two groups (in my humble opinion. Afro Blue was robbed of their rightful place in the finals....

Reply: I absolutely agree! I think it was set-up think, that's the point. IMO, Ben & Sara felt it was a possibility that America could've voted AB as the winner Not Pentatonix

  • @Davette7ify1 Ben and Sara? I'd think maybe it was the Sony Company behind it. They want to make sure they can get their money, and they know Pentatonix can make it for them.

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt ..... If Nicole was the female jude this would have ended very differently.. Sara was not suppose to be a judge....

  • @zes02 i'm actually pretty sure pentatonix still would have won though. They had WAY too many supporters.

The show's over, and in the end, it doesn't really matter. AB will probably get a contract anyway.

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt I equally love pentatonix... n I do give it to them they r good... loved their arrangements and the life

    in their performances...

  • Just watching this for the first time now, and wondering HOW DID THEY GET SENT HOME AFTER THIS???? After VP and now AB gone with DA and UM still there, I'm not sure I will watch this show if they have another season.

  • I can't stop watching Afro-Blue, merely because I feel so strongly about the Sara and Ben doing them so much injustice.

  • @TravelByTARDIS11, I totally agree with your choice of top 3 and I've seen a lot of people who thinks the same way.

  • I don't see how they got voted off this week. It would've made more sense to vote them off in previous weeks, if they were going to anyway. It just doesn't make sense that right on the eve of the finals, they go home. Not once in the entire show's history, has Ben been flustered while giving his feedback. That most definitely should count for something. This was the best group and I still don't understand how Urban Method is still here. But that's just me.. Go Afro Blue!

  • Sigh...LOVE Afro Blue...threw a plate when I heard Ben say DA because they are just such a spectacular group. Of course they weren't consistent because the judges had them revamping their whole style since "Heard It Through The Grapevine" and they were never satisfied with any change they made. This was just a stepping stone for greater things for them. GO AFRO BLUE & I will be buying the ridiculously necessary album :)

  • Keep my last comment on regards please... BUT I GET IT NOW! They kept Pentatonix and Urban Method because they are the 2 groups that will (assumingly) appeal to the American teen. They kept the Dartmouth Aired for their uncanny resemblance (musically) as the Dalton Academy Warblers from Glee. But I'd much rather see Vocal Point in the finals than the Aires.

  • @CelebrityTheMusical Urban Method has interested practically nobody. I don't know where you got that. And Pentatonix is actually creative. Afro-Blue just made a lot of mistakes in previous performances, and it finally bit them in the but. It has nothing to do with them having a jazz style. They just made some arrangements that didn't work. They could have kept their jazz style for all the judges cared. They just needed to make better arrangements...

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt In my opinion, all of their arrangements were marvelous! As a matter of fact, the performances that the judges praised were my least favorite. I never once said that Pentatonix wasn't creative and I didn't even mention Urban Method.

  • @CelebrityTheMusical I liked most of their arrangements. There were only a few I really didn't like very much, Like the Janet one. It was a good performance, but the whole thing didn't go anywhere. 99% of the time, music needs a climactic point. It didn't feel like there was one there. I'm so used to looking for that climax, but when I heard that arrangement, I sat there, waiting excited for a climax, but nothing was happening, and then when the said, "That's the end?" that hurt.

  • @CelebrityTheMusical you know what I mean? They had kinda crushed my expectations. There were some other ones i didn't like as well, because they either had awkward arrangements ("American Girl" just wouldn't fly with me), or didn't really go anywhere ("Heard it through the grapevine"). They just weren't really "cracking the code" as the judges put it. But all of their performances definitely had a lot of heart, but heart doesn't distract people from an awkward or ineffective arrangement.

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt Well, at least they should've given America the chance to make the choice...It seems Ben and Sara saw Afro Blue competitors for Pentatonix and or maybe Urban Method..I never heard Dartmouth Aires, Urban Method sing better than AB. AB can sing, no matter what & how their arrangements was..The Dartmouth Aires can't sing, the leader screams. IMO, they sound like they're singing on Broadway. If that's what Ben & Sara wanted, they should've called this show The Broadway sing-off

  • @Davette7ify1 oh, definitely agree, except the dartmouth aires part. I guarantee you that their lead singer definitely knows what he's doing. He doesn't scream at all. He just has a lot of power behind his voice, and he needs that power, having to sing over like, 15 other people. But I think I know what you mean. Sometimes, singing can have a sort of scream-ish timbre to it, but there's a fine line between a "scream-ish timbre" of singing and singing that literally sounds like screaming.

  • Every artist on the market has a genre... That's just the way it goes. Their genre was jazz and the like. Pushing them and expecting them to adapt to anything in a week simply isn't reasonable. Also the Dartmouth Aires on an album sound utterly ridiculous. Excellent showmen but AfroBlue and Pentatonix are the only 2 groups that I could turn on and simply listen to them without watching them. But oh well.

  • Quite honestly, the judges NEEDED to push them to do other things with their music. By telling them to change their music, they were testing them to see if they could do anything that's not a jazz style. As soon as they knew that they couldn't, they said go back to your roots, which they did. Dartmouth Aires were pushed to do other genres, and they were able to pull it off, which showed more diversity. I love Afro-Blue to death, but I don't think that the judges are entirely to blame in this.

  • @anadacondei4 Oh, I'm sorry! I misunderstood! What I meant by Pentatonix and AB being my top 2 was that there would still be a top 3, but it would come down to Pentatonix and AB to see who won

  • @anadacondei4 No, AB got sent home. The top 3 are Pentatonix, DA, and Urban Method sadly

  • I personally think the final three should have been Pentatonix (who most people knew would win from the beginning) Vocal point, as they are a MUCH better group than DA, and Afro Blue, even tho I think Afro Blue is fairly limited in their genre. I think it shows fairly poor judgement on the parts of all three judges with who two of the three finalists are...DA and Urban Mthod do not deserve to stand with Pentatonix and hold their heads high.

  • I think this was one of, if not their very best, performance of the season. I think however that with as many times as they were in the bottom 2 it was surprising they lasted this long.

But based purely on this nights performances, the judges were dead wrong. DA got some negative remarks on both of their songs. I think Urban Method should have been gone a while ago, they are not nearly as good as the judges make them out to be.

  • They were amazing, I am sad to see them go.

  • Goodnight to their ENTIRE LIVES for letting Afro-Blue Go! What the... Ok. Maybe Me and a select few were the only ones who realized that Afro-Blue was one of the most distinct, creative and talented groups on the show. They should be in the finals. Actually.. They should have won. And Sign Out DartMouth Aires! Well.. anyways. This is where the show ends for me. Lbs.

  • listen to this. then listen to all of the lights by urban method. there is no comparison. why urban method didnt ho home let alone were the first ones saved is a mystery to me. if they dont get third i will be very upset with the show.

  • The problem is, if Afro Blue was in the finals, they would be a threat to the anointed ones (Pentatonix). Now Pentatonix has it in the bag. And they are an excellent group, too, but it's still sad.

  • @KH517 Sorry to break it to you, but Pentatonix had it in the bag with or without Afro blue in the top 3. As in another post, I think the final three should have been the best groups of the season Pentatonix, Vocal Point, and Afro Blue.

  • AFRoOOo BLUE thats the end of the show there isnt anything better to come, the judges on the left are off their minds. sad they went home.

  • they are way better than Urban Method!

  • Why the hell did they get kicked off? Ugh and Urban Method is still here?... :(

  • They really need to send Urban Method home. I'm getting so tired of hearing them. I really don't think they're very good. They just have a rapper at the front. I wanna hear good singing, not a good rapper. Rapping has a tendency towards vulgarity, not poetry. (DEFINITELY NOT saying it's always vulgar.) I would really like to see them not use any rapping for the final. I'm getting so sick of it. It's like they hide their lack of creativity behind rapping.

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt In a heartbeat I would switch Urban Method with Afro Blue, no regrets. Urban Method shouldn't have made it this far. Their singers are lackluster in comparison to every other group on stage.

Even Sara admitted that the judges may have confused AB with their suggestions. Their (AB) heart was in jazz, that's where they sound best and where they should've stayed, exploring its (vast) boundaries. I wanted Pentatonix, Afro Blue, and Dartmouth in the end. Urban Method should be gone.

  • @Shaiyo5 THANK YOU! I don't think their singers are that good either. Every single time I hear those three girls singing, all I can think is, "I wish they had more power behind their voices." They sound so... dead....

For all I care, the rapping can stay, but the singing has GOT to improve if they want a chance at winning. If they're gonna do well in the finale, they better work on those voices. They need more volume, chutzpah, and "Gosh, darn it, i'm singin' a song, and you better listen up!"

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt im definitely not a fan of urban method but your ignorance disgusts me. Almost every genre of music contains vulgarity, and just because one song does, does not mean its not poetry. each and every song is a form of poetry but the different genres seperate the various styles of poetry. If you cant handle vulgar lyrics, dont listen to music.

youre probably listening to that rap you hear on mtv and the radio anyways. Only very few good artists are found mainstream.

  • This was great! I was sorry to see them go - I hoped the top three would have included them. I noticed that Ben stood up for that performance, which does not seem to happen too often. Anyway, I really enjoyed Afro-Blue on the show and wish them much success in the future because they are true talent!

  • Combine this with "Need You Now" and you have, EASILY, the most transcendent performances of the season. I am a big supporter of Pentatonix. I think they were built to win a comp such as this one, but even they were probably jealous of how much raw emotion and cathartic power AB drew from those performances. ALL THREE of the judges were noticeably affected by this. The audience reaction seemed FAR more genuine then with any other performances this season. Just a descent into agenda voting here.

  • tbh I think Nick was about to cry when he had to send them home

  • They got sent home only because they were in the bottom too often. Ben Folds who had the tie breaking vote basically sent afro-blue home because they were too inconsistent and it was the aires first time in the bottom

  • IDK HOW URBAN METHOD IS STILL THERE AFRO BLU AND PENATONIX NEED TO BE IN THE TOP 2 OMG I ALMOST CRIED WHEN THEY GOT SENT HOME

  • I totally agree. I am musically in love with afro blue. Its cool, jazzy, and I could most definitely see myself buying an album from them. The aires are too much. They sing ok but its nothing spectacular. Lets not even talk about urban method.......(long pause). I really hope penatonix win because them and blue were my favorite all season.

  • The Dartmouth Aires already did this song- take a look at their latest album on iTunes. In my opinion, the Aires did a much better job.

  • @sjkraska You must have wax in your ears. All they try to do was immitate Sam. They tried, but it just was'nt that good, it was boring. They background did a boring barbershop harmony nothing new. They lead singer tried so hard to be Sam, but it did not work. AB did a progressive arrangement where as Dartmouth Aires could not touch in a million years. Go back and listen to both of them side by side and you will change your opinion. Just a thought!!!

  • Afro Blue should have definitely been in the top 3! I agree with Shawn. The criteria should be can they cut a record. I could easily see myself buying and Afro Blue record (already have from itunes), but can not see that happening with the Dartmouth Aires.

  • @kirbyb93 Well honestly the group with the most readily available commercial appeal is going to win in Pentatonix. But as both a techno and jazz fan, I could also see myself buying a record from Afro Blue. Dartmouth Aires are honestly WAY too Broadway for most people to take seriously. About the only place I could see them performing for money is on a cruise ship...personally i think they should have gone a while ago and that Vocal Point should still have been in.

  • I do not watch this tv program here in France. But if they were eliminate with such an amazing performance, then I guess the others groups should be really REALLY great ! I've read that they are too "jazzy" for people while, to me, AB just bring something different, technically great AND Soulful. I guess that is the purpose of each artist ,right ? Not just sing like every singers, but bring something different artistically...

  • By far the best song I have heard during any year of Sing Off. Brought me to tears. Being a vocalist, musician, and student of music for over 45 years, my experienced opinion is that this is the best group this season. Soloists, bottom end, mid range, upper end, chord structure, attacks, modulation, dynamics, arrangements, emotion, and a pet peeve of mine clarity, perfect. Ben Folds presents himself as very knowledgable, however I cannot understand what he saw or heard to vote them off.

  • AB was my second favorite, after PTX. I think they were the most musically sophisticated group, but they were not as consistent as PTX, and ultimately, this is a competition to find the best option for a recording contract. PTX has a far more universally appealing style. Neither DA or UM should have gone on instead of AB, tho.

  • @TheDaveZee I totally agree; if anything, I thought that it should have been Pentatonix, Afrro-Blue and Vocal Point should have been in the top three. I'm not sure why Urban Method went as far as they did, they never did anything to the caliber of Pentatonix or Afro-Blue, or Vocal Point in my opinion. The Aires only were propelled forward by Michael.Without him they weren't good enough to have been in the top two. The best group won though. I love this performance by Afro-Blue, one of my faves.

  • They should have been in the Top 3.

  • Coming from a musicianship perspective no other group was touching them. I just really don't feel like they should have went home, and whatever it is going on behind the scenes that caused them to go home is the very reason why I don't get into shows like this! These types of shows continue to disappoint me. I will tune in to the finale but only to see Afro Blues portion of it!!!! SN: I hope this shows gets sucky ratings and completely falls apart!! lol #bitter

  • Oooooo they done took me too church! Go head sista girl! 4:28-4:34 ALWAYS gives me chillls. That riff was siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick-a! Seeee from start to finish I always loved AB, and I was pissed off that they went home even after this godly performance. Sigh. At least we'll get to see them one more gain, in the finale. And at least Pentatonix is still in there. This just goes to show that other people's inaccurate OPINIONS(not facts) can really mess you up.

  • Loved AB from their first performance. Very upset they got sent home. Pray they record so I can hear more - yes I would BUY their music - the ITunes offerings have crowd noise - not what I want to hear. Anyway, LOVE U AFRO BLUE!!

  • "We were going to pace ourselves with the $20 chords over the different weeks but you told us to cut back on the jazz so we just put them all in this one song, kthx"

Please let there be another venue for them to make music like this. Their recordings on the Howard website are not nearly as exciting to me. I'm heartbroken about not getting any more new content from this incarnation of Afro Blue.

  • Ugh, they were my fav rite til the end, not sure if ill keep watching. Freakin judges...

  • Afro-Blue has been in a catch-22 situation throughout the season because of how much emphasis was placed on versatility. I mean, is it preferable to be masterful in a few genres, or to be fair/mediocre in many genres? After all, it IS possible to exhibit range and diversity within a single musical genre.

  • @Kimokeo15 That wasn't the problem. They didn't mind the jazz. They loved the jazz. They just didn't use their creativity properly. You can be extremely creative within one genre. They just did some things that weren't very effective. I'd agree with the judges. Some of their songs were musically fantastic but just wouldn't strike a chord. At times, it felt as if AB had lost all their heart, and it just kinda sounded like a song and not much else.

  • There is politics behind this. In order for Pentatonix or Urban to win, they had to get rid of AB. Think about it! UM and Pentatonix would have split the votes between them. AB would have taken the R and B some hip-hop and pop votes, this would have put them as a front runner. They had to go, they did not fit into the scheme of things. Dartmouth Aires are just a deversion because no one will buy their records and they are not recordable. Shawn has a label that he is trying to launch 1/2

  • @39mwsmith actually, if one follows these things, Afro-Blue had the second largest number of supporters... Pentatonix almost had four times that number... so, no, Pentatonix is going to win either way, but I think they'll get the afro-blue supporters, because I could tell just how upset they were that they got eliminated. they wanted real competition, and they were both the groups who were actually musical, so, yeah, the dumbst move in history was dropping afro-blue, they'll be great though :(

  • CAN I GET A WITNESS @4:06???

  • Poor Afro Blue. They started so strong, but went down will after that... This was so good because they took it right back into their own element: Jazz. That's why they were kicked off. Of course this performance was absolutely amazing, but the problem is that this performance, combined with what we learn from their previous performances, finally revealed their greatest vulnerability:

They don't know anything other than jazz. They have so little versatility.

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt some of the keys to understanding why they were kicked off can be found in the things that Sara said at 5:43. She felt they as the judges had "confused" them. That's exactly why they were kicked off. The confusion is intentional to root out those without versatility.

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt , Im sorry you don't know what you're talking about. AB is very versatile. They also sing classical very well and gospel, R&B, that Tom Petty song was a joke, they actually made it sound worth listening to. The Janet Jackson Medly was even great although Janet is not an singer. Dartmouth Aires is the least versatile group up there. They are very pitchy, but just jump around the stage. Sara is a bimbo, notice they call on Shawn or Ben first because she cant hear

  • @39mwsmith That was a bit of an aggressive response.

Dartmouth Aires (you're very correct on that one) is not very versatile. The lead singer should ditch the rest of them and get a record deal.

And maybe when I said "not versatile", I misspoke. What I meant to say, I think, was that they weren't showing enough creative flare, which is unfortunately what they're asking for. Most of the time, all they hear is jazz from afro-blue. That's fine. They're just missing that creative flare.

  • You know what I'm trying to say, right? Was it clear that time? AB's performances are good, but they all kinda have a really similar sound to them, to the point where they sound progressively worse with each performance, even they perform well. People will start to lose interest, and they'll ask for something new. Pentatonix is very consistent with their creative flare. DA's doesn't always get it, but their creative flare is improving. But AB was pretty stagnant throughout the competition.

  • @39mwsmith In other words, they were considering their collective downslide throughout the competition. And don't insult the judges. They knew what they were talking about. They could tell that the way they were performing, people would lose interest fast, but they could also tell that they were so talented, so they kept them in the competition, waiting for them to do something special and creative with their jazzy style. With this performance, they thought, nice job, but the flare isn't there.

  • @39mwsmith But you know what, I totally agree with you. They shouldn't have been knocked off. For the purpose of a "record deal", it would have been more logical to keep AB in the competition and kick off the DAs since the DAs style is meant for stage performance and ABs style is better suited for making records. The judges were clearly focused on consistency though. They had a point. Whenever AB tried to be creative, they usually tripped over themselves. That's where the "confusion" came from.

  • @39mwsmith and when I say "tripped over themselves, I don't mean that harshly, but more like, they tried to make it work, and they could see the effort, and it almost worked, but it didn't quite strike a chord with the hearts of the judges. They wanted to see it work so badly, so they kept them in the competition. The focus on consistency in the judges's choice was just a spot of bad luck for AB, I'd say.

BTW, I really think Sara has better ears than you think.

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt, Sara's music appreciation is so limited. For example when AB did the soul train line, she called it a wedding march. She does not understand the African-American genre. Nicole was worst. They should have talked to Paula at least she can identify whenever she isnt drunk. Sara's last name must be Palin, I'm sorry. I am looking for Tonix to take the whole thing, that's who i am voting for.

  • @39mwsmith Okay, so her knowledge of some things is limited. Just because she doesn't know some things doesn't mean her last name should be Palin. Some people have not heard of some things. That shows nothing of their intelligence or ability to appreciate music.

I'm black. I didn't even know that was called a soul train line. Does that limit by ability to appreciate the music? No, it doesn't. It's easy to tell that she's much smarter than she sounds.

And I totally agree with you on Pentatonix.

  • @39mwsmith Sometimes she may not say the right words, partially because I don't think she's fantastic with words, but that doesn't make her dumb. In fact, that probably makes her smarter. A lot of people are bad with words, but their far more intelligent than their peers for other reasons.

  • Comment removed

  • And after this they were kicked out =(

  • @LordRaxieL maybe they kicked them out cause they're intimidated with having to perform with them in the finale lol - judge would look like a howard reject

  • Now it was clear! Ladies and Gents, We have a first runner up! :D

  • This was their best performance, but I still didn't think that it was that great. I never really got into Afro Blue.

  • Sigh. I'mma miss these guys! They were amazing! The jugdes suck. first they take away their sparkle and then heckle them when they performances aren't there. It's the judges fault. Dartmouth aires over them was insane. It blows my mind. And this erformance gave me chills. It was beyond amazing. how they went home completely blows my mind. Oh and anyone notice, that they actually never really had ay bad performances? It was only "low" because they took the juges adivce and dumbed down

  • I like how Ben at 5:36 is at a loss for words and then laughs at himself for rambling. Dude was rendered speechless.

  • That was fantastic. This is what Afro-Blue is meant to do. I'm sorry the judges confused them. I would've kept them over the Aires. In fact, my dream top 3 was Vocal Point, Afro-Blue, and Pentatonix. At least I have 1/3 of it. :/

  • @TravelByTARDIS11 ditto for me. but as long as pentatonix wins it all i'm fine.

  • They in no way deserved to go home. They are by far the best vocalists from this competition. DA weren't great, they just move around a lot. And I always find myself asking how Urban Method is still there. The top 2 should've been AB and Pentatonix :(

  • @whitewing811 I couldn't agree more!! All of my votes are going to Pentatonix now that Afro-Blue is out of the competition.

  • @dewakerism Same! I think AB and Pentatonix were the most unique in the competition :)
