@lancair360mk2 No, as the subtitle of the video explains, it was taken from a Kolb Firestar II with a Rotax 447. The Waiex however is powered by an Aerovee... The Pilot of the Kolb is also currently piloting a Waiex which he finished a few weeks ago. His is powered by a Jabiru 3300 (120 SHP).
is the video taken from a sonex? The engine rpm seems a bit high is it the aerovee engine?

The Sonex has the "standard" cross-tail and the Waiex has a Y-Tail.

Yup...I personally like the V- or in this case Y-Tail better. Even if it jaws more than a standard tail...It does induce less drag...
