@grecomic Have you seen her in "The Front Page"? The lines she has in that had the same effect as this sketch when she won her suit (the movie's on YT, by the way).
who was she impersonating when she said "You may keep me a prisoner in this house etc etc etc?" It is on the tip of my tongue but i can't quite place it! SOMEONE helpe me!!! haha
"Mr. Skeffington," "The Lion in Winter," "Wuthering Heights." (Actually, Bette Davis never said, "Peter, Peter, Peter." It was just a good way to impersonate her.)
this is why i watched carol burnett faithfullly throughout the '70s. she was HYSTERICAL. love th ebette davis impersonation. it was dead on. always about peter! peter! peter!
I love Bette Davis!

Carol *did* do a rather hilarious impression of Katherine Hepburn; raaallly (really) she did!
I'm almost certain that Bette Davis as Stanley in "In This Our Life" was in there, as well as Merle Oberon as Cathy in "Wuthering Heights."
I like old movies, but seeing Carol's brilliant parodies of some of them can make it hard to keep a straight face during the real thing.

It's even funnier in hindsight considering that Carol would later win her lawsuit against the National Enquirer!
