Probably because DBZ never follows anything it says in previous sagas or battles. Look at Goku Vs Frieza. Goku was fighting a Even battle for how long with out losing any Ki, even at the start when Frieza first went 100%. Frieza was a tiny bit stronger than Goku, yet through a about 10 episode battle between Final Form Frieza and SS Goku. Goku wasn't getting slower, weaker, or losing any Ki. Why doesn't it apply anymore? Because of what I said.
Also, Broly probably recieved a Zenkai from healing from near death. Though being in a space ship for 7 years while bleeding your ass of, and not dieing is stupid in itself. Regardless, Ssj2 Teen Gohan would of beat all forms of Broly in seconds. Also, it isn't just Broly's power than increases. The problem with DBZ is, it isn't consistent. Many times in the anime it is mentioned Saiyans grow stronger during a battle. Yet we only see this apply to Broly, why?

Broly isn't that strong TBH. He lost to a single punch from a guy that is only in FPSSJ. That Isn't Ssj2. Which is why I do not understand why people think Broly is stronger than a SSJ3. The Cell and Gohan that are fighting Broly there are not FPSSJ. There are many ways to find out. 1. The transformation is way to short to be a FPSSJ. He just transforms into a normal SS in 1 second, and since this is before Cell because Goku is still alive, it isn't him just learning how to do it fast. Second of all, after Goku absorbed the power of his friends. That form he was in, is similar to the FPSSJ that lost to Cell. Cell was also using about 70% of his power fighting Goku.
No, I completely agree with brand. People need to use their brains when they try to debate. Movie Timelines are very different from the actual anime timeline. In movie 6, return of Cooler. Dende was the Guardian of the earth, yet at this time Gohan is still a kid with long hair. He hasn't gone in the HBTC. Yet in the anime they get Dende to be the Guardian of earth, after Goku and Gohan finish their HBTC session. Yet people still cannot notice this.
Agreed they didn't have Broly perform well in the movies. But that's usually how DBZ movies go. The main Villian rips through the Z fighters until Goku takes all their energy and destroys the Villian. I would've like to see more of a storyline with Brolly

Also, Adult Gohan is worlds apart from his Teen self. 7 years of not training will demolish your power level. In The Jap dub, he says I was suppose to have powered up since the last engagement, however he soon realizes that he hasn't. Because Gohan's power has dropped about 33%. A good portion.

@nigahigagreatness Yes, I did see it. It is debatable, however. Many do not realize how much Gohan's Powers have dropped from his Teen Ssj2. Goku Is definitely ssj2 in my opinion, he has the Stern/Evil look on his face. There is no lightning because Toriyama didn't implement it into anymore Movies after that point. Regardless, Gohan Ssj2 as an Adult is quite similar to Gohan's Ssj1 when he was a Teen. His power was mostly Anger, after 7 years those powers died down.
@nigahigagreatness It was only once, Kaioshin unlocked all of his Hidden powers that he never used anger as a power boost anymore. Anger opened the gap for his powers to be released, once the gap was wide enough to unleash it all on will, anger never became a tool. So, without the heavy anger. Gohan during Broly the second coming, was a lot weaker. The 7 years of not training, plus not having a huge amount of anger cut his powers a great deal.

By far, Cell is the most badass villan of the entire series, if it turned out he lived, he would have made a hell of a good guy, saying he turned to the Z-Warrior's side somehow. Thanks to his Saiyan cells, he would have kept up with Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan. I mean hell, he jumped en entire level of Super Saiyan just by nearly dieing once and due to his regenerative capabilities, he would have given Majin Buu and everyone else a good run for their money.
@mrMein True, he didn't have Buu's overall regenerative stamina, but if Goku, Vegeta, etc never had regenerative abilities at all and they seemed to last quite awhile, so if Cell were as strong as Goku during the Kid Buu saga, or any saga regarding Buu for that matter, he would have made a significant difference and due to the regenerative abilities, he would have kept getting stronger during the fight. .

Piccolo turned good because he realized that ruling the world would do him no good unless he defended it, and Vegeta had a dark ubringing to speak for his original evil nature, but once he came to terms with it, he turned out to be half-way decent. Cell was born with the desire to kill, he was built to destroy and prove his own perfection. There is no concievalbe reason for him turning good.

Sure, Frieza was evil, but Cell was evil too; so was Buu, and so was Doctor Gero. The fact that they died has nothing to do with it; Frieza died too. They all died against the Z-fighters. Buu, in fact, destroyed many more worlds, and even entire galaxies, than Frieza controlled, so by your logic he is more evil.

To me Buu is the best in many ways. Not only was Kid Buu pure evil incarnate pretty much, that entire saga brought back a much needed big sigh of comic relief that'd been vanishing from Dragon Ball ever since Z started.

well I myself just thought DBZ got embarrassingly serious as time went on. A lot of what I grew to love about Dragon Ball when I originally watched it quickly evaporated. The only real things I like about the Cell saga are that Red Ribbon (finally!) came back and that Cell's first humanoid form is one of the scariest things I've ever seen in a show.

but the series wasn't supposed to be serious. It had serious moments and everything, but until King Piccolo it was rather lighthearted and enjoyable. During the Piccolo stuff it was a bit darker, but still overall humorous.
It's mainly that the series just got TOO serious to me. Dragon Ball was never supposed to be all that serious in the first place, and Cell really pushed how much I could tolerate despite how interesting he was.

/Krillen found the blue-prints for his design at Gero's lab. In the manga, Cell is always referred to as "it", not he to show he isn't human. He only has traits of each race (i.e Saiyan Zenkai, Namekian regen).
@zagon2 Gohan was NEVER owned by Goku SSJ1. The scene you're referring to, is the filler fight inside Buu's head. If we're using that scene as a basis, then Vegeta base form is superior to SSJ3 Gotenks. I very much doubt it.
Fat Buu wasn't the strongest Buu. All the Buu's had the same powerlevel. The only difference between them all was the ability to use said power. (fat buu was held back by the influence of Fat Kaio, and Kid buu was the most dangerous because he was mentally unstable)

Fact is, Broly is just one of the most powerful characters in the Dragon Ball series, done. Honestly, I preferred the Cell Saga because it was the only saga that had more realism through advanced science than anything.

I liked Cell the most out of all villains, but I thought Frieza saga had better story. It was almost like it should have been the final battle.

Probably because DBZ never follows anything it says in previous sagas or battles. Look at Goku Vs Frieza. Goku was fighting a Even battle for how long with out losing any Ki, even at the start when Frieza first went 100%. Frieza was a tiny bit stronger than Goku, yet through a about 10 episode battle between Final Form Frieza and SS Goku. Goku wasn't getting slower, weaker, or losing any Ki. The Cell and Gohan that are fighting Broly there are not FPSSJ. There are many ways to find out. 1. The transformation is way to short to be a FPSSJ. He just transforms into a normal SS in 1 second, and since this is before Cell because Goku is still alive, it isn't him just learning how to do it fast. Second of all, after Goku absorbed the power of his friends. That form he was in, is similar to the FPSSJ that lost to Cell. Cell was also using about 70% of his power fighting Goku.

Dende was the Guardian of the earth, yet at this time Gohan is still a kid with long hair. He hasn't gone in the HBTC. @nigahigagreatness It was only once, Kaioshin unlocked all of his Hidden powers that he never used anger as a power boost anymore. Anger opened the gap for his powers to be released, once the gap was wide enough to unleash it all on will, anger never became a tool. So, without the heavy anger. Gohan during Broly the second coming, was a lot weaker. The 7 years of not training, plus not having a huge amount of anger cut his powers a great deal.

@IgnitionJump Cell was killed as he was caught off guard by Vegetas sneak attack after all the other Z fighters had tried and failed ... it took all of them combined, where as with buu he spent most of the time getting the shit kicked out of him and then died with the spirit bomb ... if cell had not been caught off guard by vegeta then he woulda won. Cell is ownage man :P

@MrDennis9987 He read the manga. What happens is that Vegeta shoots Cell, and Goku tells Gohan once to not worry about the planet and use his full power. The friends getting hurt and the multiple tug of wars were filler.

By far, Cell is the most badass villan of the entire series, if it turned out he lived, he would have made a hell of a good guy, saying he turned to the Z-Warrior's side somehow. Thanks to his Saiyan cells, he would have kept up with Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan. I mean hell, he jumped en entire level of Super Saiyan just by nearly dieing once and due to his regenerative capabilities, he would have given Majin Buu and everyone else a good run for their money.

@mrMein True, he didn't have Buu's overall regenerative stamina, but if Goku, Vegeta, etc never had regenerative abilities at all and they seemed to last quite awhile, so if Cell were as strong as Goku during the Kid Buu saga, or any saga regarding Buu for that matter, he would have made a significant difference and due to the regenerative abilities, he would have kept getting stronger during the fight. .

Piccolo turned good because he realized that ruling the world would do him no good unless he defended it, and Vegeta had a dark ubringing to speak for his original evil nature, but once he came to terms with it, he turned out to be half-way decent. Cell was born with the desire to kill, he was built to destroy and prove his own perfection. There is no concievalbe reason for him turning good.

Sure, Frieza was evil, but Cell was evil too; so was Buu, and so was Doctor Gero. The fact that they died has nothing to do with it; Frieza died too. They all died against the Z-fighters. Buu, in fact, destroyed many more worlds, and even entire galaxies, than Frieza controlled, so by your logic he is more evil.

To me Buu is the best in many ways. Not only was Kid Buu pure evil incarnate pretty much, that entire saga brought back a much needed big sigh of comic relief that'd been vanishing from Dragon Ball ever since Z started.

well I myself just thought DBZ got embarrassingly serious as time went on. A lot of what I grew to love about Dragon Ball when I originally watched it quickly evaporated. The only real things I like about the Cell saga are that Red Ribbon (finally!) came back and that Cell's first humanoid form is one of the scariest things I've ever seen in a show.

but the series wasn't supposed to be serious. It had serious moments and everything, but until King Piccolo it was rather lighthearted and enjoyable. During the Piccolo stuff it was a bit darker, but still overall humorous.
It's mainly that the series just got TOO serious to me. Dragon Ball was never supposed to be all that serious in the first place, and Cell really pushed how much I could tolerate despite how interesting he was.

@Toziko50 at the time no. He was pretty evenly matched with cell. The problem was that Goku got more tired than Cell did over the course of the fight. It wasnt a difference in power, it was the fact that Goku could endure as long as Cell

@zagon2 SSJ1 Vegeta is NOT stronger than SSJ1 Gohan at the cell games. If that was the case, in his USSJ (buff) form, he'd easily dispose of the Cell Jrs. Gohan had perfected his SSJ state to the same extent Goku did. Cell is not a human nor a saiyan. He's a bio-organic android. Trunks
/Krillen found the blue-prints for his design at Gero's lab. In the manga, Cell is always referred to as "it", not he to show he isn't human. He only has traits of each race (i.e Saiyan Zenkai, Namekian regen).

@zagon2 Gohan was NEVER owned by Goku SSJ1. The scene you're referring to, is the filler fight inside Buu's head. If we're using that scene as a basis, then Vegeta base form is superior to SSJ3 Gotenks. I very much doubt it.
Fat Buu wasn't the strongest Buu. All the Buu's had the same powerlevel. The only difference between them all was the ability to use said power. (fat buu was held back by the influence of Fat Kaio, and Kid buu was the most dangerous because he was mentally unstable)

OK in my opinion Brolly doesn't count as part of DBZ he was in a movie but not truly in the DBZ universe. Movie count for nothing except maybe Dead Zone and perhaps Cooler's Revenge (not Return of Cooler though) and maybe Wrath of the Dragon say those three because one the could fit into the DBZ time line (Deadzone before the battle with Radditz; Cooler during the three years between Goku's return to Earth and the battle with the androids; Hirudegon after the battle with Buu.)

Fact is, Broly is just one of the most powerful characters in the Dragon Ball series, done. Honestly, I preferred the Cell Saga because it was the only saga that had more realism through advanced science than anything.

@GameRaterAlpha yea cell had reasion to exsist and his powers were limited to what the people knew and had when his samples were taken... exp. cell could not use instant trasmission because gokus samples were taken up until namic was destroyed. all the other we just super powered and had no meaning to exsist nor a reasion to destory earth unless prevoked. buu only attacked because he was brought back here. omega shinron exsisted only because over use of good in the Dballs.
