I guess they've fixed the problems because it runs fine for me. I never played Gears 2 back when it came out, I just got it a couple months ago and barely started playing it now. I've been watching lots of Gears 3 beta vids and people keep talking about how Gears 2 multiplayer was horrible and I don't see it so it must have been fixed. Gears 3 looks sick though.

Everybody whores the shotgun and uses it as a sniper never letting go of the left trigger, at point blank ranges where you'd think they'd use a shotgun they almost always use the B button that does all the work, and no it's not the right trigger. Whenever you hide behind walls you get shot through them anyways, a flawless cover system. Ever aspect is broken.
And besides they were trying to make things besides the shotty and sniper useful all my deaths in gow1 were shottys and getting actived down. im not complaining i do think gow1 is better but u all now thats true

@n64expansionpack yes totally agree with you again. i noticed the difference in colour between the two myself, gears 2 is too bright in my opinion for such a "dark" game as you say. i thought by looking at the demo at e3 that marcus looked BIGGER like in gears one and when he was diving out of the way of the lambent berserker it was very much the same fluency as the first as well, this would make me a hell of a lot happier if that was indeed the case.

gears 1 PROS: B button users are shredded in seconds (you get fuckin stunned like a bitch if youre swinging a gun or revving a lancer with JUST ONE pistol bullet and when you get meleed you still have a chance to stun your attacker), ranked/player matches (choose EXACTLY what you want, what map you want, how many rounds you want, and even see the connection BEFORE you enter a room)
gow1 PROS: boomshot only DOWNS you with the first shot, except a direct hit, no grenade tagging walls, smokes actually act like smokes, WAY BETTER MAPS, faster gameplay than gow2 (no gay frag tagging standoffs everyone in gow1 ran around to hunt someone down till the last man no matter what) sniper is always consistent, and of coarse, THE SHOTGUN <3 p.s. the only real update for gears 1 was to add annex in 2007

Gears 1 cons: sniper active down, frag stun (but has a much smaller blast radius than gears 2) host (obviously), host boots like a damn nazi, occasional sticking to corner cover, crab walkers and kung foo flippers (but these glitches were so easy others could do it and rape them, which is why no one hardly does them)
Gears 2 pros: extrememly smooth cover, stronger hammerburst, stronger lancer, stronger bultok, stronger boomshot, stronger torque, stronger frags, use meatshields, chainsaw takes more bullets to bring down/people who melee cannot be stunned whatsoever (can also be a CON), 5v5, horde mode, better campaign (depends who you are i personally think both campaigns are great), matchmaking
gow2 CONS: meleeing has become a must now. slower gameplay, and camping has greatly increased, powerweapons are in almost every map, and host is an even bigger problem than in gears 1
p.s. people that like gears 1 better are people that have played the game since the beginning only to be cockslapped by cliffyB with gears 2, and people that like gears 2 never TRULY played gears 1 consistently or just dove right into gears 2.
Gears 2 CONS: whereas every other weapon in the game get an insane power boost, the two most popular guns in gears 1 are reduced to secondary weapons (although people still shotgun a lot). the sniper doesnt register a headshot half the time when you clearly shot an enemy in the thing called their face. you cant hold the L trigger for a split second then shoot with either the shotty/sniper which delays shooting for a full 2 seconds.

@mickles21486 well i did a side by side comparison with two tv's next to each other one with GEARS OF WAR and the other with gears 2. i compared everything on both gridlocks, from walking speed to wallbouncing to sniper battles. the heads didnt seem smaller to me, however, even though the sniper aimer thing (not the actual scope) is the same size, you have to hit the damn head in the dead center of the recticle

hmmm... oh and they should fix the host system. instead of it going to a random person that might have wal-mart connection(which is bad, for those who dont know)and making the game as laggy a shit, it should put the person in the game that has the best connection as host. The flamethrowers gay and overpowered and I only tolerate using it if im surrounded by most the other team. Matchmaking(for me anyway)seems to be going way faster than the first so hopefull thats fixed for everyone else. =]
alright im not going to say that gears 2 sucks after all th updates, since i like to paly it. but i do have to admit some things in this vid are correct. the chainsaw ins gay with the auto aim and vacuum. and the only way to defend yourself against one is by chainsaw dueling him. There are map packs out now like gridlock and fuel depot and stuff in em so thats not a problem now =]. Two pieceing is still what people do(not me) to get kills if theit noobs. Everybody whores the shotgun and uses it as a sniper never letting go of the left trigger, at point blank ranges where you'd think they'd use a shotgun they almost always use the B button that does all the work, and no it's not the right trigger. Whenever you hide behind walls you get shot through them anyways, a flawless cover system. Ever aspect is broken.

My KDR on GoW1 was like 50k kills to 19k deaths, that's like a 2.6, on GoW2 I struggle to keep a 2.0 even though I know the people that play that game suck.

@n64expansionpack yes totally agree with you again. i noticed the difference in colour between the two myself, gears 2 is too bright in my opinion for such a "dark" game as you say. i thought by looking at the demo at e3 that marcus looked BIGGER like in gears one and when he was diving out of the way of the lambent berserker it was very much the same fluency as the first as well, this would make me a hell of a lot happier if that was indeed the case.

gears 1 PROS: B button users are shredded in seconds (you get fuckin stunned like a bitch if youre swinging a gun or revving a lancer with JUST ONE pistol bullet and when you get meleed you still have a chance to stun your attacker), ranked/player matches (choose EXACTLY what you want, what map you want, how many rounds you want, and even see the connection BEFORE you enter a room)

gow1 PROS: boomshot only DOWNS you with the first shot, except a direct hit, no grenade tagging walls, smokes actually act like smokes, WAY BETTER MAPS, faster gameplay than gow2 (no gay frag tagging standoffs everyone in gow1 ran around to hunt someone down till the last man no matter what) sniper is always consistent, and of coarse, THE SHOTGUN <3 p.s. the only real update for gears 1 was to add annex in 2007

Gears 1 cons: sniper active down, frag stun (but has a much smaller blast radius than gears 2) host (obviously), host boots like a damn nazi, occasional sticking to corner cover, crab walkers and kung foo flippers (but these glitches were so easy others could do it and rape them, which is why no one hardly does them)

gow2 CONS: meleeing has become a must now. slower gameplay, and camping has greatly increased, powerweapons are in almost every map, and host is an even bigger problem than in gears 1
p.s. people that like gears 1 better are people that have played the game since the beginning only to be cockslapped by cliffyB with gears 2, and people that like gears 2 never TRULY played gears 1 consistently or just dove right into gears 2.

Gears 2 CONS: whereas every other weapon in the game get an insane power boost, the two most popular guns in gears 1 are reduced to secondary weapons (although people still shotgun a lot). the sniper doesnt register a headshot half the time when you clearly shot an enemy in the thing called their face. you cant hold the L trigger for a split second then shoot with either the shotty/sniper which delays shooting for a full 2 seconds.

@mickles21486 well i did a side by side comparison with two tv's next to each other one with GEARS OF WAR and the other with gears 2. i compared everything on both gridlocks, from walking speed to wallbouncing to sniper battles. the heads didnt seem smaller to me, however, even though the sniper aimer thing (not the actual scope) is the same size, you have to hit the damn head in the dead center of the recticle

hmmm... oh and they should fix the host system. instead of it going to a random person that might have wal-mart connection(which is bad, for those who dont know)and making the game as laggy a shit, it should put the person in the game that has the best connection as host. Matchmaking(for me anyway)seems to be going way faster than the first so hopefull thats fixed for everyone else. =]

alright im not going to say that gears 2 sucks after all th updates, since i like to paly it. but i do have to admit some things in this vid are correct. the chainsaw ins gay with the auto aim and vacuum. and the only way to defend yourself against one is by chainsaw dueling him. There are map packs out now like gridlock and fuel depot and stuff in em so thats not a problem now =]. Two pieceing is still what people do(not me) to get kills if theit noobs. The smoke knockdown was removed THANK GOD

@xboxactor08 Two piece is part of the game and its a gr8 way to defend your self against the chainsaw if you dont like to get pistol wiped or sawed in half then I recommend staying the fuck away from your opponent idiot

Anyway, i do use other weapons but u cant say you dont get mad when your in a shotgun fight and some random guy walks up to you melees you, and kills you, so dont bs yourself

And you know to this day, the game is STILL BAD. 5 title updates(or 6? idk I haven't played this game since summer), and the game still sucks. If you want a good experience buy gears 1 it's only $20, and tons of people still play it.

Dude you r so right. Epic just made this game for bitches cuz all the bitches were complaining about how hard gears 1 is. The wallbouning in gears 2 is better than gears 1 though. All epic has to do is to get rid of the host opwer, the 2 piece, and the chainsaw.

If you don't like Gears 2, don't play it.
It's that simple. No need to cry because you lack the ability to adapt to more than a sniper or a shotty, or to understand that the places you run into in enemy territory may have proximity grenades in it, or actually learn to use *gulp* STRATEGY during a game. It's not the lags fault you decide to dive straight into a chainsaw, or in front of a flamethrower, or into a wall tagged grenade. It requires you to think now. Be a big boy.
