As we are all saying, it happens to us all. I dropped my bike last year. The last day i rode the bike. Placing it up for storage and then crash. Dropped the bike on the ground because I turned the bike to sharply while leaning. Scratched the mirror and a little on the tank. Oh well, I traded it at the beginning of this year anyway!
@FrigidWhisper Aw, thanks for the support. I felt like such a doofus! Funny how it seems to fall in slo mo but there's nothing I coulda done to save it! LOL. Thanks for your comment! :)
@88hawaii Ahhh, I laughed so hard when I saw you lay down your bike in your vid, so we're even, hahahaha! But of course, after watching your video, the next day I dropped my bike. BACHI, lol! What an honor to have 88hawaii comment on my vid! hehehe.
@theSMYRNAcowboy Why did I not see this till now? I'm gonna blame YT! ALF is wayyy heavier than the Virago, mustve been a pain to lift! Since this vid, I've dropped my new bike once, sigh....
@oldhogman Thanks Terry, I'm so sorry I didn't see your comment til now!! Thanks for your kind comment. Everybody was so supportive. Thanks for the good vibes! Aloha! -808 :)
Please don't feel bad about dropping your bike. It happens to us all! I dropped my Road King when I first got her, and I was just sitting in my driveway, fiddling with my keys trying to put them in my pocket. Duh. As for your language, no worries at all! You could never offend a Lynnah; we unleash way worse than the occasional F-bomb!!!
I imagined this way worst in my head when I heard about it. I was picturing high speed group riding. I'm glad it wasn't what I thought. Ok no more of that. Now that it's out of the way.
Dont sweat it, it happens to the best of us. Have you ever noticed a Harley rider wearing a set of "Harley" wings. It is usually a patch sown on the clothing. Well some of those patches feature "ruffled" feathers in the wings. Which means that rider has gone down on his bike, its called "getting your wings", its kinda like a badge of honor. So congrats.............great video, very cool that you posted it.
I never thought I'd be receiving so many kind words after posting this vid. The motovloggers are certainly a cool bunch! (you being one of them :) Thank you so much S.U.M.C! You definitely are "SUPER" in my book! :D
As long as you're okay, that's all that matters. It happens to everyone. I happened to go down over the weekend and have a scraped up knee and am limping now.
Good thing I had a decent jacket, gloves and helmet on. I saw in a few of your videos your lady friends were wearing just "Mechanix" gloves. Not too much knuckle or digit protection. I wish I should have borrowed my friend's knee/shin protectors so I wouldn't have been limping around right now.
I had another previous experience where I went down, but it wasn't too bad. I always ride with a jacket with CE shoulder and forearm protection. I wear a ventilated jacket when it's hot and without the liner. I always wear jeans/pants and gloves with decent knuckle protection. From now on, I'll be wearing knee/shin protectors under and over jeans at the very least. I'll probably be wearing a one piece suit on runs through the canyon as well.
Great that you posted this as any biker who is honest will admit to dropping their bikes it happens to us all.Generally you get up faster than you went down out of embarrassment lol.
Happens to ALL of us sooner or later. My 1995 Gold Wing was dropped and my 09 HD has been dropped! Not fun with almost 800lb mc. Just like you said...shit...happens. LOL
Any fall U can laugh about is just a learning experience but if may cost big bucks in parts n labor.

IMHO, post what you want, don't post what you want, but most of all, don't post or not post because of what other's say, tiz your VB, no one else's.....
Great to see you laughing about it! The first time I dropped mine I was so embarrassed I couldn't even look at the guy who helped me. Took me about a week to get back on, ego only half recovered! Hope there's not too much damage :-)
Oh Man! I feel for you. I'm glade no one, especially you, was hurt. All of us will drop our bike at one time or another, so don't worry about it. Just don't make it a habbit.
I still remember my first drop. It was 26 years ago. Since then I have dropped my bike about a half dozen times.
Sad you dropped it, but your safe and you handled it well, there to ride another day, i was laughing with you all the way, it went down so gracefully, only a women could do that LOL
808, thanks for sharing. I almost felt better after I dropped my bike for the first time. I was coming to a stop on a decline and breaked to hard and the biked stayed and I kept going. Thankfully it all was very gracefull and I just got one little scratch on my grip. Oh and my hubby was there to lift the bike. I was glad to get it out of the way.
I almost did that at a stop sign this summer but i managed to keep the bike up. I try to anticipate what the angle is going to be when I stop and figure out where to put my feet so I don't get off balanced like that
not TOO bad... lol when I dropped my bike for the first time... it was horrible. The worst part is, the guy I was trying to avoid hitting (because he stopped to stare at my beautiful bike) didn't even bother to help me up or anything. so you're good xD had to happen some time.
at least you laughed about it :) and congrats by the way, you are now officially allowed to come offroading with us, having met the criteria of falling whilst swearing and filming followed by laughter :D
Oh no! You dropped your baby. Hope there wasn't much damage. You don't realize how heavy a bike is until it starts to go over. (Been there, done that.)
Glad you posted this and even gladder that you were not hurt. :^)
I laid my bike down once, simiular to the way you did yours. I shut my engine off while slowly coasting into a parking space. Someone stepped in front of me and I quickly squeezed my break lever. The bike slowly laid down. The same person helped me pick it up. Had my engine been running he would of heard me and avoided stepping in front of me. Lesson learned. Take care and rsmf...
Well at least you're not going to fall anymore. Like they said there are two different riders.. one that has fallen and the one that hasn't. Hope you were alright and the bike as well. At least it was a slow speed!
You handled that really well. I wish I could have laughed it off when I dropped my bike. Glad you didn't get hurt. 5 stars for having the guts to post it.
