  • It is metallic salts in a diluted acid water solution - best bought already mixed - You might want to order online.

  • hi,thanks for this video..what is the composition of the acid stain and where can i find it in mauritius..

  • Kemiko is a good acid stain its available at helm paint stores

  • Is it Okay to use acid stain on an outside patio where plants are present? Will washing the patio and the runoff harm my plants?

    thanks

  • U do not need the broom if u buy the correct stain i reccomend kemiko acid stain

  • @Jasonroy211 You should always use a broom or something to spread out the material and break the surface tension. I have used Kemiko but still used a pad or broom to spread it without puddling.

  • @concreteideas ... ...kemiko is best, if so why... and where is kemiko available? ...if not kemiko, which is best and where to buy....thanks!!!

  • @Jasonroy211 ...kemiko is best, if so why?? where is kemiko available? thanks.

  • @jk47now kemiko is avaiable at any helm paint just look it up kemiko.com

  • what are some good ways to remove wall paint that was liberaly splattered during constuction?

  • @rockman2561 Good old fashioned elbow grease- scraper and strippers are ok to use just don't use muriatic acid before an acid stain

  • What are the rusty coloured spots?

  • @ewetoobebuddah - That is part of the acid stain - probably iron oxide.

  • This is an excellent video, so clear and simple and without music..what a releif! Thanks. And so if I were to convince my man to let me do our bathroom and walls in this style, I would like to ask you how much would it cost in products to do a floor of around 6 square metre and a wall of 2x2 & a curved wall of 3x4? Thanks d

  • I need to buy a pump sprayer for adding clear finish. Any recommendations?

  • @gtijerino don't use a pump use an airless or HVLP or roller would work- Pump sprayers tend to give a bad spray and finish

  • will this hold up on a covered exterior patio deck?

  • @rwhdragonmaster Oh ya - this is permanent color- you may need to reapply the sealer every few years if you want it to look new.

  • it looks like a swamp, why choose such yuck colors.

  • true about baking soda

  • I got battery acid on the floor, what can I do to remove stains?

  • @toilarico Are the stains bright rust colored? They will turn black many years from now. They are caused by the iron corrosion from the bolts that was rinsed off the battery reacting with the carbonates in the concrete to form an Iron Carbonate which then forms that red rust looking stain. You have already acid stained your floor.

  • you didn't say what the proper time is to stop the acid stain reaction ?

    Thanks for your time..

  • I would like to know how to do a patio?do anyone have a video for this?

  • what spray paint acrylic highlights are you using? it doesn't look like the kind of thing that you could buy from a hardware store...

  • Anyone know the best type of wax to use in a restaurant situation over a sealed acid stained floor? Brand?

  • @kellejay i would use bellatrex, from the Meadows company

  • Amazing...amazing, wath acid are this please?, good vid.-

  • Great instructions! Thankyou!

  • great and informative by the way what kind of acid is used? are they off the shelf items?

  • this is fabulous!!! I love it! Can you do that in your basement? or I have to polish the florr first to make it nice and smooth before start the stain?

  • Impressive and informative video.

I am in Ireland and researching branching into acid stained concrete.

What I noted from this video is how time consuming the process is. Many stages. With high labour costs, I wonder would it have been cheaper to have tiles or fitted linoleum.

  • Very informative. Will make our job easier

  • This was my second acquaintance of "concrete staining" videos and was much more informative than my first viewing. The level of detail pertaining to procedural processes involved in this kind of a project has led me to reconsider undertaking such a task at this time. Information about relative expenses compared with other mediums of floor finishes would have been useful.

  • baking soda leaves too much hazy look on to the floor but good job

  • Yes it can but you will need to make sure it is all removed, and not much is necessary.

  • What is the concentration level of Baking soda to water? 1 box to 5 gallons of water or so?

  • @concreteideas hey bro where can i order the products

  • what would be a better alternative to baking soda keeping in mind you have to lower the Ph so you dont have sealer failure

  • you could also use insted of baking soda veniger or better yet floor neutralizer .

it works much better and safer and no residue.....the key to any acid Job.... I did this for almost ten years great work I loved every minute of it.

  • @fassy32

What is the point of the neutralizer and is it necessary? I'm assuming it's the step needed for the sealer to be effective. Is it necessary to do a sealer? We just stained our garage yesterday and are planning to do the back patio - thanks

  • @fassy32 ....floor neutralizer...? better than baking soda...w/ no residue?? brand, type, etc...? thx!!!

  • tsp works as a nuetralizer and my personal favorite ammonia

  • @timlachance25 ...TSP vs. Ammonia vs. generic floor neutralizer...??? brand, type, etc...? THX!!!

  • TSP with a splash of detergent, In most cases the concrete is alkaline enough to neutralize the acid but you certainly don't want sealer failure with ant residue.

  • This is one of those things, that if you don't like how it turns out, your pretty much screwed.

  • thank you....

  • cool!

  • Beautiful work!!! thanks for the instructions! i would love to get into this myself!!!

one thing with your wording... you should say Makes it LESS viscous so that it can penetrate the concrete, Viscosity is the 'resistance to flow'

    Low Viscosity = Water

    High Viscosity = Molasses
