great work but I still think that the night is too dark. I know it's dark at night (haha) but usually the traffic/streets light should do a better job illuminating the enviroment in a metropole. I think the gameplay suffers during the nighttimes since you missed more things (or seeing things too late^^). I hope you can fix this in a future version or maybe add modified files so people can decide.

@Cekooo11 easy way: get a nvidia. So much more power in games and it has got nvidia physics.

@Cekooo11 the rig you just described would be completely fine, the video card is lacking, but the physx tripleni describes aren't even available in gta4. just get a newer video card 58xx series and up and you'll be fine, texture memory is quite important to gta4 so look for a card with a 1gb or more.

I downgraded and tried out icenhancer, and I get around 30 fps average.

I really like having a higher average fps -- What is the best mod/combination of mods if I want good graphics without killing my framerate? Just looking for suggestions.

@lukeman3000 iCEnhancer uses 'Box of whiz bang'. Which is my silly way of saying it looks amazing. This does come with a price however and sometimes fps has to pay the debt (to varying degrees). Which version have you tried? Each version kind of has a signature style and, like old film favourites, they all manage to stand the test of time and look 'current tech'. You won't look at a previous version and say "Man that looks outdated". With varying effects, old versions affect fps differently.

If I want the BEST graphical experience for gta 4, should I downgrade to 1.0.4.0 even after this is released? Or will there be any need to?

@lukeman3000 Yes you should definitely downgrade to 1.0.4.0 for the best graphical experience. 1.0.7.0 will offer limited effects only. For the full suite of 'enchancements', 1.0.4.0 all the way.

PC runs well. But like any other, is strained by using fraps while pushing it hard. My processor could be upgraded to better effect. But it does the job.

Seriously this looks amazing. Crysis 2 does look better though, even if it's a mod. Play Crysis 2 on Ultra you know what I am talking about. Crysis is the best looking game made ever followed by Crysis 2. The level of detail and textures in Crysis 2 is amazing. I thought the game sucked compared to it's predecessor, but graphics wise? Come on now. We all know Crysis 2 looks better than this.

@MidlandKruiskade Oh if you could only see what i was running just recently in GTAIV with 1920x1080 resolution and all the nice tricks in motion. Different game sure, but truly, this video is about 10% of actual quality that i cant capture. Fraps cant handle it. It chokes at about 2-10 fps. I never heard of Crysis 2 choking with fraps.

If i get one thing across its that current video capture technology cannot come close to preserving the quality of this mod in play. It gets reduced many times before it makes its way to you in video format. Think of a video to a game and you think of a thumnail to a Hi Res image. Its a representation of the source. By no means the final quality.

did anybody get 1.3 to work on a cracked version?

with the included d3d9.dll it crashes while loading the game, if i put the d3d9.dll from system32 it loads the game, but the graphic isn't even close to the one in the videos (of 1.3)

(oh, and before i forget it, i'm getting a original copy just because of this graphic mod :P)

@aimedehaire yeah, if i put the d3d9.dll from the system32 folder into the game folder, it loads the game normally, but i don't get the nice graphics as on the videos, if i use the d3d9.dll that is included in the icenchancer package, i can't load the game.

it's probably because of the crack, but if anyone can help me it would be great :)

@aimedehaire ahh a newcomer. wel firstly you need to learn to nag. no room for aptience in this game.

Also, if you dont like what you see, then youve probably hurt by it emotionally, so by mean attack and flame and troll all concerned. I know what youre thinking. Thats not fair right. Dont worry all modders get paid handsomely for their work. Lastly, from time to time you'll see a virus called 'readme.txt'. delete it at once. you'll find all the info you need just by asking for it over and over.
