  • Sorry that I don't answer your comments right now, I'm in the middle of finals at my University :-) I'll get back you in a week or so, thank you all for your views and opinions on that episode.

  • You dont know exactly what happend. you just have the view of a single person in audio. and thats make you think. Thinking for yourself, imagining what was going on is far more interesting and stimulating than being entertained by cutscenes like in cod or something. the screen has limits - your mind has not. so yes - we are still watching this.

  • Funny you are still surprised by the fact some people are actually watching this. SS2 is like Kubricks 2001. People are still thinking about, like you. Even the Community keeps this game alive. Because the game is alive. The detail of the environment is awesome, i mean there is nothing i was missing like in other games where you thing "damn, where are the toilets?" But the most golden part is the logfiles you collect. This way of telling the story is like playing zork. - continue -

  • Great video, looking forward to the final episode(s)!

  • Also, I might take a look at those water-filled tunnels you're curious about using the same magic I used to explore the catwalk you were curious about in the Rickenbacker. Could have interesting bits in there, like corpses maybe. -w-

  • Well it could be argued that Prefontaine wasn't entirely contradicting himself, but rather observing an evolution of the Many. Maybe early on they were only able to grow their stronger creations through time after infection. Now, with their new massive body, they are able to immediately manifest those creatures at the cost of resources.

It's kind of like shipbuilding in Birth of Federation; you can wait a few turns to build a ship with minimal cost, or build it right away with max cost.

  • Looking forward to the final showdown :)

  • Beware of ACTA mate ;DD

  • I do hope we dont have to wait that long again for a new episode. Thats almost torture ;)

    keep up the good work.

  • Hey Sheppard, It's good to see you are still uploading episodes and haven't given up on the series. I always enjoy listening to your analysis of the game and its mechanisms :)

I don't think you can get up to those tunnels in the Many's egg chambers. Just an answer to your request. I had tried and even no clipped up there and there was just an empty room. I think it was just there for show.

I still enjoy the music you add to your playthoughs :) It's very good :D

    Thank you for your work!

  • Always worth the wait

  • Mistrzu powróciłeś, pozwól, że zrobię sobie najpierw herbatę zanim zasiąde do oglądania twoich poczynań.

  • Glad to see you putting up new SS2 videos! Great run, great game. Keep it up :)

  • I was surprised as hell to see this video uploaded. Glad to see you're still at it.

    Nice work as always ;)

  • You made my day when i saw this :) Im glad this awesome series continues forth

  • Yeah, sorry for that little "Prefontaine contradicts himself" misconception on my side. Let me clear this out, He said in his audio log titled "re: Annelid life cycle" quoting "Following infection, the host begins to transform into a human/annelid hybrid. From that point, the life form can take numerous paths. I believe this path is determined by the Many itself."

  • I mistakenly thought he also stated, in some previous log that Rumblers are a mid-stage creature between a hybrid and something else. However this bit of information comes from a research report from evaluating Rumber organ. Actually there is no contradiction between those two, sorry for my mistake, I always thought that the cycle Worm->Hybrid->Rumbler is somewhat exclusive.

  • Just letting you know you mispelled copyright infringement at the end of your video(Disclaimer)

  • @EffYewTube Thanks, I hardly ever see my spelling errors :-) Good to have a vigilant viewers to correct me on that.

  • i like your pompous and finicky speech.

  • as long as i have an Internet connection i will always come back for more episodes :P

  • Oh damn, a new Pacifist's Approach? Funny, I was rewatching a few episodes just the other day. Good to see you didn't just disappear forever.

  • Awesome

  • I wonder if the games respawn system, the bio-reconstruction devices, could explain how the many could be so large in comparison to the ammount of biological material they could have consumed. The same crew member is consumed again and again, resulting the an almost unlimited supply of biologial matter. granted energy and only be converted, so the possible cut off point might be the fuctionallity of the reconstruction devices themselves.

  • What an excellent commentary. You should narrative some high quality science fiction (perhaps your own) because you create a compelling mood suitable for the genre.

Why do I keep coming back to SS2?

It was unfortunate to hear of all the stumbling blocks impeding a re-make. How stupid bankers are..

  • Richard Garriot of Ultima fame quit saying that it was too costly to keep up with the public's demand for hi-rez graphic. Yes, that was the trend but what good is a vivid game with no substance?

I remember Doom3. It was heralded as the next step but the excessive detail of tubes and coils and wall rivets was an annoying distraction. And non-stop and meaningless assaults are meant to provoke blood lust, something I am in short supply of.

  • in SS2, The crew quarters almost felt like there was carpeting on the floor in the halls and corridors. The graphics were made real by the brilliant use of sound.

Oh sure, The humans and the creatures could use a make-over and the interior of the Many could be much more viscose with graphic improvements for the water pools but that stuff is easy by today's standards.

  • Awesome! I was just checking my subscriptions and wanting to know when the next one of these would be out. Have to check out music in video now. Thanks for posting

  • @Jinks2001 The song near the end, is Bart Klepka - Individuality (fear mix) /watch?v=pmMgx6rTleQ

  • awesome lets play, i have been following your work since some time, keep the good work

  • nice to hear your voice again! :-)

  • evolved hybrids and this fits with his audio log where he said ramblers are created from humans, he never said that the ramblers are manufactured the same way that the eggs are.

  • firstly, there are kind of sequels too ss2, dead space is clearly inspired by it and shares many of the same traits (alone on a ship, zombie/human monsters, betrayal) and of course bioshock, which was develeped by irrational games, these aren't true sequels though,

secondly, i never heard that many speech before! its awesome, i assume by "our most wonderful creation" they refer to the "super" psi reaver.

finally, prefontaine didnt actually contradict himself

he said before that rumblers are

  • @Crebralassassin I've recorded another two sections about remaking System shock 2, but I couldn't fit it into that episode. You actually reminded me I should speak something about Dead Space and Bioshock - thanks :-)

  • @ShephardReborn no problemo

  • yay a new episode
