ive been past those buildings several times. i assume the blue buildings are buildings that you can rent for multipurpose reasons, such as a recording studio/computer servers etc.
My grandma lives in Englewood and has talked about that building. That was, if memory serves me correct, supposed to be apartments or small offices....don't remember. The stuff in there is from squaters and kids partying. I love Englewood, especially the coast.
@buzzz121 Believe it or not, Englewood has a Super Walmart and a Home Depot. The Walmart was a regular one for many years. It went through an expansion and remodel about 6 years ago.
@hstone39 Lots of rain for sure. The thunderstorms in this area are very bad during the summer months.
However, a hurricane has not impacted this area since Charley in 2004. Tropical Storm Henri flooded Englewood really bad in 2003. The center made landfall in Clearwater, over 100 miles to the north, but the heavest rainfall occured between Englewood and Ft Myers.
Your establishing shots are constantly improving. It's like getting a real life tour of the place. Your getting really good at these tours dude! I linked to a couple of your vids knowing people would get a kick out of watching them. Very well done man.. keep it up!
The restaurant was busy when people had available credit on their cards. Illusion.
When I was a young kid in the 50s my parents never took us to McDonald's. We went out for dinner maybe 4 times in my childhood. Money was backed by gold back then. I learned to be self-reliant back then. We are much richer today then my family was in the 60s-- and I am unemployed with no benefits. There are plenty of rich people left in America-- they're just very selfish to keep their gains.
@gradiu3rox I don't think work should be looked at as a handout-- but I do believe the selfish-minded find all kinds of justification for not creating opportunity for motivated, skilled neighbors. We're supposedly in this together.
@carefulcarpenter I don't think you understand a few things. The first is that work should be done to produce. The next is that it is impossible to produce and be competitive in America, thanks to government taxes and regulations which are much more expensive here than in the rest of the world. The third is that the government needs to make dependents to fight for it, that's you. Do you see? This is why you are trained to say things like "selfish" rich people while the gov steals everything
I see that you are 25 and live in Japan. If you have the time and interest, please look at my channel video "The world has changed", then we can talk more about rich people, bankers, selfishness, and visionaries. It will be worth all of our time to have this discussion. Hope you are interested.
@carefulcarpenter I watched your video. It's your ancestors? I'm not sure what your argument is but I'm open to any discussion. I am interested in the truth.
@gradiu3rox Great! Truth. We don't always know by the hype. dragasoni shows us economic collapse in Florida. I could show collapse in California-- or A NEW WORLD. How will we know when we've arrived? Awakened? When is the beginning of the END? Or rather, is it a NEW BEGINNING?
These are my ancestors. They had a vision and a dream. What was it? Can we know by the hype? Can we know by the imagery ie Hollywood, conventional education, family stories? Are we living the dream?
@carefulcarpenter I don't think that was the case in this area. That restaurant was successful for many years. Prices used to be a lot lower than they are now and everyone has been forced to cut back. Just look at the price of gas, food, heating oil, etc. Dinning out has been replaced with paying for necessities
While I agree that the days of easy credit are over, I don't think that main reason for this restaurants’ failure.
@carefulcarpenter I think people are acting "selfish" is because they're uncertain of this governments' next move. They're holding on to their money and are ready to jump ship if things worsen.
Wow, I just moved from Venice close by about 6 months ago. we moved because we knew it was going to get worse. So glad we did not buy a house down there. Fell sorry for the people who are stuck in them.
I used to think florida wasn't as hit hard as california but if you look at unemployment rate and foreclosure rate etc I would say florida was hit just as bad. California and nevada only have a higher unemployment rate because of more illegals and migrants which skews it. The housing bubble was really big in florida.
I live in california. I can tell you it looks like nothing like what Im seeing in your florida videos. Ive seen your videos and econoat88 and johnu78's videos all showing florida. I think you guys look worse.
Also the foreclosure rate and unemployment rate has been similiar to california for the last 3 years. in fact I think you guys are higher now overall.
yes nevada was the hardest hit but florida was harder than california I think.
Thank you very much for the drive. If I didn't see the palm trees I would of thought that this was a video of Detroit Michigan. I do like the way you detail your videos with relevant information and the fact that you walk up to the properties and give us a closer look really makes these videos informative and interesting. Job well done!.
The video quality is superb, Which camera did you use today?

No Walmart coming to this town any time soon. Fannie Mae probably has those properties on their books for $5,000,000 each.

@Motoicon That would be a VERY bad idea. Englewood is heavily patrolled by the Charlotte County Sheriffs Office.

@carefulcarpenter what's wrong with being "selfish"? If you're so self-reliant, go make some money. Don't ask for handouts.
