  • comparing Apples and Oranges guys. And in reference--indie to mainstream, Arcade Fire has kept their integrity after their success. Let me pose a question, In whatever artistic endeavor you have chosen, wouldn't you want more people to experience your expression. Arcade Fire does not need to have hit singles. Top 40 does not mean artistic accomplishment.

  • mmm blondie and Hit singles Call Me, Rapture, Heart of Glass, Atomic, Dreaming, The Tide is high. I count more than 3

Only thing ive heard of from AF is Sprawl and sadly after an indie band went, dare I say it Mainstream.

  • I heard Sprawl for the first time today... and all the while I was thinking "this reminds me of something."

  • Wait a minute, I think they already have more than three recognizable tunes......AF wins. I love their musical subjectiveness as well, They have my vote, and support all the way. Blondie, you guys were great in your era, but suggesting that AF ripped this is ludacris to say the least. Dig deeper, you will see that most music today has already been done in the past. The difference being the instruments and the topics, being relative to our lives and syncing with the present times.

  • There are similarities in chord structure, u got that, however, Arcade Fire is far more talented than Debbie Harry avec Blondie ever was. 1. AF has way more brainpower and there is strength in numbers my friends. 2. AF has the versatility of 2 vocalists, one that is a soprano, awkward and pround, the other a falsetto/tenor. 3. I am willing to bet AF is not all f'd up on cocaine, so they should stand the test of time, and produce more than three hit songs in their career span.

  • Cosmic coincidence or on purpose? There's only so many chords and melodies in rock & roll so I'm a believer in cosmic coincidence from a logical point of view. I also made a chord set that happened to be the same as another song once by accident so I've seen it happen.

  • MY LIFE IS ONLY TO LOVE ALL THE HAPPINESS ON THE WORLD

  • Brilliant!

  • Mmmm, Debbie Harry and Regine, Nice!

  • Great mash-up!

  • This woman makes me crazy. Her looks should be illegal in most countrys. Blondie! I want to get lost in you! You make me totally out of my mind.

  • @zooologist Blondie is a band, FYI.

  • Nice remix... Got three songs out of one!

  • I WAS JUST THINKING THIS

  • If you listen it well, you will see that Heart Of Glass has more beats for minute but here it sounds slow...

  • sick sick sick

  • THAT'S what this song always reminded me of!

  • Excelente!

  • Now that there's a Sprawl video someone should mash those 2 together.

  • Such a sweet blending!

    Is maith liom é!

  • Sometimes worlds must clash. This had to happen.

  • Just leave it be...please.

  • Bella!!!!

  • bout damn time.

  • They should do this for real. Nice mix, I like it.

  • ma è così ovvio, dio perché non c'ho pensato prima io??

  • @onafetssss ecco perchè amo profondamente entrambe le canzoni..

  • rigolos :)

  • This is absolutely fucking AWESOME.

  • omg.. i am not alone... the first time i heard this track I thought it was a Heart of Glass remix.

  • not even 30 seconds in and my head is exploding from how nice it sounds. lets see if i make it until the end of the video.

i did, but then i immediately exploded.

  • I'm auditorally jizzing. It's a mess.

  • I was like 8 or 9 ys.o., when "Heart of Glass" came out. Years later I wondered if the writer of H.O.G. got the title seed from the spaceship the "Heart of Gold".

Anyway, I love both songs, and I love this.

  • Shut up stupid

  • Like a strange sex site in the sweaty armpit of the intraweb, this hybrid scratches an itch only real perverts and doctoral thesis papers can truly taste.

  • @rayneholloway1 You are trying way to hard...

  • profoundly disturbing, but in a good way

  • God blondie was fucking smoking hot

  • blondie wins by 1000 per cent. In fact don't even compare because it's embarassing!!

  • Is this heaven? It sure does sound like it.

  • SUPERB JOB MAN!!!!!!!!!

  • What is the video from Arcade Fire taken from?

  • Comment removed

  • @nitrothunder19 It's from Arcade Fire's appearance on SNL last November.

  • @nitrothunder19 i know your comment is 6 months old, but it was from when arcade fire was on saturday night live.

  • AF was going for an early 80s New Wave sound and Blondie helped set the template for the music of that period. When HOG came out everyone was caught up in whether it was rock or disco, but they overlooked the heavy New Wave elements of the song, the way the synthesizer and guitars were keyed into the drums and the drum machine.

  • i knew i wasnt going crazy when i thought they sounded very similar

  • Whats this? I really dont get it, is this a song from arcade fire, or blondie? whats the title

  • @4ARTijuana It's a Mashup of songs by the two bands.

  • shit this is like really good haha

  • GREAT!

  • I love this Version. I love the Picture of Debbie in here:

    watch?v=DwKj8bBSxZg

  • Everyone was thinking it but you did it, nice job.

  • @rjwile thank you, I would like to take credit, but, the song was actually done by "the hood internet" I just did the video

  • @docbrophy I did eventually notice that, but still, nice video. I also found their website and all the other goodies there, so thanks for the referral.

  • @rjwile You're so right!! I always remind of Blondie when I listen to this song!

    Great job.

  • Is there anywhere I can download this?! I love it!

  • @purpleballoon15 It's downloadable on The Hood Internet's account on Soundcloud

  • @j9ac9k thank you, i was just getting around to sending @purpleballoon15 the link

  • I, for one had written off Arcade Fire as a bloated, having no incentive to innovate- sort of band until I, heard this song.

The lyrics are nearly perfectly composed.

  • Yummy!

  • Great. I love Debbie soooo much!

  • Loving this mashup and them Debbie Harry images WOW.

The Arcadia girl sound like a angry Claire Grogan from

    Altered Images.
