@aflac2323 Nope. Never, although a cop did warn me about the blue turn signals when I pulled up to a waffle house one night lol. I took them out after that.
@krazyk86cu You have changed your side flashers laps too or no? the ones that are on the fenders, if you had then can you tell me where can i find like bright white or bright blue ones? Thank You.
@elpaisa00 No. Just become a member on mazda3forums and there is an entire thread with pictures to show how to. Just search independent fog mod. It's pretty complicated. I wouldn't be able to explain it
when you had this car did you ever notice that when looking head on that one or the other of the low beam headlights seemed brighter or gave more output than the other? and maybe even stock before you put in your headlights
@alex44443338 It all depends on the angle you are looking at each headlight. So no, not really. The driver side beam is however leveled a little lower than that of the passenger side light. This is to reduce the amount of glare incoming traffic receives from you as they pass
@ViaDolorosa777 If I decoded your cryptic unintelligible interweb speak correctly...then yes, this is in fact the definition of rice. 10000k HIDs have no use whatsoever and should only be used on "show" cars, if even that. Anything past ~5500k is WORSE lighting output then a halogen bulb and totally defeats the purpose of HIDs in the first place. So yea, something done for purely the aesthetic purpose and not function or performance? Pure rice.
@Panoptic555 If you read through my comments, these 10000k's were for "show." The stock headlights were easier to drive with. I had a pair of 6000k that I normally used. They were WAY brighter than the stock halogens. And they worked very good with my stock projectors
@krupa35 Nice! I wish mine were that cheap when I got them. Something is wrong with mine though, they just went out today while I was coming back from the gas station. I think its probably a fuse, but its one of the main ones and theres not really a way to pull it out and check. Hopefully I won't have to take it to the dealer to get them to pull it out... :( sigh
@krazyk86cu hmmm you sure it's just not your bulb burnt out? did you pull it out of the light housing to check it? i dont know if it would be a fuse because the HID can't blow any fuse because it uses less power than a regular halogen bulb. do you have a relay in your mazda for the HID's? i had one in my mustang and when that went bad, one bulb didnt work and the other worked fine.
@krupa35 the think that puzzles me is they both went out at the same time. that makes me think that its not a bulb that went bad. I'm not really sure though. I'll have to check it tomorrow :(
@krupa35 I'm thinking of getting a kit off of DDM... debating between 35 and 55w ..
Hey, when your 35w lamps are on high-beam, is the pavement closeish to vehicle still bright enough, or is most of the light diverted off to the distance?
@danwat1234 Yeah man get the 35. What kind of car you putting them on? halo's or stock housings? and yeah i have a 2001 mustang with stock housings and the housings are clear, no fog, and when i put them on low they see all of the road, pavement right in front of me to about 75-85 yards away with the left and right sides of the road lite up pretty well. I love them, i had the ultra brights in for so long and the difference between them and the HID's are amazing. I have 10k and the color is sick
@krupa35 Sweet, yeah I think 55 watt is too bright for low beams in a car .. so I'm looking into dual tube HID bulbs, but so far both the low beam and high beam HID tube is 35 watt for 55 watt, I'm looking for 55watt in high beam, 35 watt in low beam.
Ah well, doesn't look like such a product exists yet!
I'll probably get a Bixenon 35 watt kit.. 5 or 6K so I don't attract cops with the blue light!
@danwat1234 What you can do is called a "bi-retro fit". its when you have 2 seprate bulb housings in one headlight (one bulb for low, and one for high), and then you substitute your 35W HID for lows, and 55W for highs by having 2 relays running off all 4 HID bulbs (2 35W HID bulbs in one relay connected to a relay that has 2 55W HIDS bulbs). it sounds hard, but if you look in forums you'll be bound to find a DYI tutorial. cops arent that anal, at least where i live. never got pulled over yet :)
Hi, I have an '07 Mazda 3 as well. My question to u is your low beam hid 10000k frm ddm tuning if not where did u get ur hidkit i really like the 10k and looking for a blue colour of that sort
you can't see anything with them though. I have a pair of 6000k bulbs I swap in every now and then. they really do light up the world. especially since I'm running a 55 watt kit now.
they aren't legal in NC. I doubt their legal in Canada. More thank likely though, a cop isn't going to pull you for them unless he just feels like being a dick. Or if hes suspicious of you and needs an excuse to pull you.
@krazyk86cu thx for the imput. I'll definatly look into it some more. love how the turning signals look. Now do u see a big difference with the yellow fog lights, do they work alot better then the stock ones that come with it?
@Arti999 Hey, just thought I'd let you know, about a month back, I went to waffle house to meet some friends and noticed a couple of state troopers inside that eye'd my car pretty hard when I pulled into the parking lot. When I went in they waved me over to their table and told me that ONLY amber turn signals are legal. They didn't write me a ticket or anything, they just told me I needed to change them back out for some amber colored ones. They were actually very nice about it.
lol damn son the hids are bright as hell sweet addition. all my outside stuff matches now i have black m3 led side mirrors black marker lights black projector headlights carbon fiber tail lights and euro clear marker grill even painted my intake piping black and finished painting my wing and finaly got a good system in it 2 12 kenwo
yeah, I thought about it. but there are plenty of people in my town with them and I don't think the cops here care. I pulled up behind one last night with my turn signal on. He didn't take any notion of it thankfully.
I figured if a cop does pull me, I keep the old amber signals in the car and I could just swap them out then and there and give him the blue signals. He might not even write me a fix-it ticket if I did that.
How many damn people go to this waffle house and where is it at so I can get some waffles too!

good video really shows how fog lights dont reflect as much from rain.

Blue headlights suck in the rain. I had 10k and then got rid of the ricer look and went to 55w 6000k its too much brighter and nicer

@TheCzechnology thats exactly what I did lol Got a 55watt kit in 6000. so much brighter

is there a different switch for the fog lights aside from the low beam switch which is beside the steering wheel?
adz1922 11 months ago
@adz1922 Nope. I just did some re-wiring under the glovebox so I could use the fogs independently of the headlights. you just use the factory switch.
