As a graduate of NYU School of Engineering, I am very saddened that the city let it go to hell after the city purchased the campus for CUNY. CUNY should not have made the purchase if they did not intend to maintain it properly. Now they have a $50 million problem. Which is nothing compared to the culture, art, and history that is being lost. I would love to know what Sage Hall is being used for, howver. Anyone know?
Building the future may not apply to all the students who attend Brooklyn College. Sapphire spoke at this year's 2010 graduation ceremony and what started out as a happy and somber occasion was ruined by her comments and her opinions. Her speech was clearly directed to blacks and it was so unfair to all the many other students who equally worked hard to attain their degree.
I too love this building and architecture. The library is beautiful, or was. Sad that it is in the condition it is. It would not take 50 million dollars to repair this if it wasn't let to happen in the first place. Just just donate to fix it so they can let it rot again? This should serve as an example as to what is left in the architectural world. Don't let this happen.
