It was a good show, It tried too cash in on the Batman movie craze of the time. Too bad it got crushed by the Simpsons and switching time slots. At the time, i had a vcr, and had it set too tape episodes when I was at work. It was disapointing too come home and see the movie, "Uncle Buck" in the time slot scheduled for The Flash. Still glad its on dvd now.
...totally agree on the cashing in on the Burton-esque environment. I think this was the last show to take a DC character seriously unless I'm mistaken. This was killed before it's time.
@Fathergryndl Yeah, I loved most of the episodes. One was a sendup too the Incredible Hulk, even with the Dr's eyes turning whitish/green. I wonder if Bixby ever seen the show. It would of been good too have him and Ferrigno show up on the show. I think thats when NBC was busy making the reunion movies. lol
ok ok. I know I am 3 months late to say this but I just found this video today. Read what you just said Akirajay38. He doesn't have any brothers or sisters? Then how does he have a nephew? You have to have a brother or sister to have a nephew. I know you want to show off that you are a big nerd but that comment made no sense. Sorry. Apparently the comics didn't mention it or you just didn't get that month's issue when they said he had a brother or sister.
Ok. That makes a lot more sense in the comic book world. But doesn't excuse them putting a brother in the TV show. I hate when they make a mvie of tv series out of a big name like the flash and just add what ever storyline they want or change facts on the character. hopefully, if they ever make a movie they won't do that. Thanks for they info
Actually, Barry DID have a brother in the comics; apparently he had a twin brother when he was born, but due to a hospital mix-up another baby died that night and Barry's twin was given to the parents of the deceased baby, later growing up to become the rarely-seen-but-nevertheless-dangerous Flash villain Cobalt Blue
I wish they'd kept this suit rather than the darker red one in the later episodes. How on Earth this never got past one series I don't know. It was awesome.
I heard it was something about them never managing to find a decent timeslot for it and the budget costs (Although the poor treatment of some villains might have made things worse)
Gotham and Metropolis are east coast, roughly 30 miles apart.
Keystone and Central City are sister cities, next to each other, much like the Quad cities area in Iowa/Illinois. Mid-West area.
Coast City, and Midway ( the residence of Green Lantern and Hawkman) are assumed to be west coast, approxiamate the distance of Los Angeles to San Francisco.
So one could assume that it's the distance between New York and Davenport, Iowa, 1,082 miles.
They just got the money. With a price tag of 1.600.000, they got great music, costumes, sets and visual effects. Sadly the scripts on the series weren't always good.
Thi is actually an episode in a tv series that lasted little more than one season. The tv series featured even some comic book villains like Mirror Master and Captain cold. The effects were quite good, the music a little batmanesque, the scripts so so. but still worth watching sometimes.
I know, right? First, it's the desire for vengeance when a loved one dies close to the hero, but later, they develop principles on how to fight crime without compromising who they are.

Back in 1990 each episode averaged around $10,000 per episode due to the effects. Today you can do it for only a fraction of the cost

I always think it's kind of neat to see what the actors are up to these days.
John, Was on Dawson's Creek and is doinfg some cool movie called "Port City"
with Full House star Jodie Sweetin. should be good.
And Amanda (who married corben bersen) was recently on Psych, and has done alot of cool shows Since the Flash.
Alex Desert, from Becker fame has been doing V.O. acting! even tougher than tv!
Check out the scene on IMDB.
