  • There is a little rule called a handball. DO ANY OF YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS

  • To all those ridiculing the Eagles... Tell that to Carlton who are about to lose their 4th spot on the ladder you dumb twats.

  • none of those clips are holding the ball.....?

  • nothings changed, the umpires are still shit and are still ruining the game...along with the dipshit commentators

  • First 2 were holding the ball, not the 3rd. The tackle was very brief in the 3rd and he handpassed pretty quick.

  • they were all holding the ball clearly cos he had opportunity to get rid of it and decided he can take every1 on but fails

  • @paultom123456

Usually doesn't fail. one of the hardest men to tackle in his prime. a really strong fend off. ps look at 'judd makes hall his biatch' video lol. before he gets coathangered, youll see what i mean. its actually the same game.

  • All of these would be paid today as holding the ball.

  • the first two were holding the ball. the 3rd however he got a hand to it, even if it wasn't enough to knock the ball out there was hand contact to the ball, therefore play on

  • @presidentelliot yes they were u fucking idiot

  • @cjloribabes Umpires agree with me, and Eagles are really shit

  • @presidentelliot Yeah, thats why that eagles squad won a premiership and assembled one of, if not the best midfield in the history of the game. Twat.

    Delete your account you imbecile.

  • @KorruptSnake Typical Eagles supporter living in the past.... Don't get me wrong, they WERE good at certain points in history, although the Eagles players of today could be compared to that bit of alcohol at the bottom of the glass that no one wants (other than Shuey and Nic Nat).

Watching that round 21 match against Eagles and Brisbane wasn't an AFL match, it was more like a comedy of retards running around....

    ...TWAT

  • @presidentelliot Well we have the right to live in the past, an admirable team to be remembered. Yeah the current crop isn't performing that well and there are quite a number of duds in the side but it is a young and dramatically experienced side. Experience is a key in AFL, and you are seeing the players that have now gained sufficient experience perform far more effectively.

Reference to the round 21...living in the past mate ;) hehe, but yes that game was horrible. Brisbane are horrid.

  • both of them wouldve been paid now-a-days

  • before i hate barry hall but now i like so he going to be a great player for the dogs and pies players and the fans are wankers

  • Protected speshishes.

  • Comment removed

  • the last one wasn't holding the ball but the other 3 were

  • first 2 are holding the ball 3rd one definitely isnt

  • The umpire let the game go on, sometimes its alot better when they do that. Holding the ball it was to me, but never play for the whistle sometimes it will never come. The umpire was right, let the game go and play hard.

  • he gets rid of it but maybe the first 1 though

  • You cant say that wirrapunda didnt tackle him properly when clearly he had chance do get rid of the ball second when he was brought to ground he still had it. (in the first one).

  • barry hall cant last 1 second in the ufc brock can smash barry and he is a wanker GO pies

  • boo pies lol and so what brock lesnars a gun

  • Its becuase nobody could tackle him properly! You eagles supporters would call holding hands holding the ball. Yes these examples I recon were holding the ball but thats footy, doesnt always go to plan, man up.

  • lol so true

  • barry hall should go too the ufc

  • graffmeup

shut the fuck up u punk ass goof.

  • If you palm off someone thats prior opportunity

  • sorry.. barry hall is an umpires pet? he is the complete opposite.. he never ever gets free kicks no matter how obvious they are

  • if u guys actually watched an afl match barry hall never gets a free kick. when he does get a free its usually reversed becuase he gives the opponent a nudge.

the first one was a free, but the he got rid of it legally

  • first one he was gone, he had time to handball and took 2 defenders on and didnt dispose of it. the second is a line call he didnt have enough time when the first tackle came the guy slipped, he still didnt have enough time to dispose of it when the second man came and the angle obtrudes whether he disposed of it correctly. I wouldnt pay holding the ball but its close. The 3rd one is fine watch at 35-36 seconds he clearly gets a clean handball out.

  • barry hall is weak

  • defs

  • lets not involve supporters of either team in this argument. Its about the rules of the game & there are 3 clear violations by definition here, barry hall had priors in each example & they should have been paid holding the ball. Its either the umpires a) didnt see it.

    b) are afraid of barry hall.

    c) are in on a conspiracy.

  • First of all that was years ago!!! and don't no if you keep up but the rules seem to change every year!!! And if you followed any other match Barry Hall plays in the umps virtually pay a free before it comes in his area. And if it does its clearly the arms over Barry ect... ect.. maybe tune in a little more!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yep a complete umpires pet if not paying people in the AFL to stay in the sport. Seriously... 6 weeks for punching a guy in the face ... that deserves more then 6 weeks (btw he had a wrist injury for 6 weeks anyway, after running into a advertisement sign)

Umpires fucking pet, dead set he is!

  • Dude i totally agree, this is ridiculous, he had time to dispose he just chose to run like a bull and that does not come easy when glass is near.

  • I could say Barry Hall never gets freekicks for high tackles. But whats the point lol.

None of those were holding the ball. The first one, no prior opportunity. The second one, can't tell from the angle he could of got a handball. Third one, he handballed.

  • none of them were holding the ball you skank slut bitch

  • first 2 definitely, last one he might've got a handball away JUST in time

  • My assessment. First incident: Holding the ball. Second incident: Holding the ball. Third incident: holding the ball.

  • barry hall should change sports, ones that doesn't involve pooftahs.

  • So your saying the most physically demanding sport in the world is homo? you make yourself look like a wimp, what are you gonna tell me rugby is great, because any retards can play that dreadful sport that does not involve skill at all.

  • All of them should have been holding the ball, whether it was knobheab Barry Hall or Judd or Ablett.

  • Protected species.

  • Sydney have had the least free kicks out of any AFL side over the past 5 years.

But don't let the facts get in the way of a good myth.

    Moron.

  • lol ura faget

  • i cant belive ppl who follow footy dont see those 3 examples as holding the ball...its fukn bullshit

  • ur a homo i hate dickheads like u, u fuckin donkey u probably slept with barry hall. He held your balls and u didnt penalise him i am guessing

  • they were all holding the ball he didnt dispose of any properly but he gets a raw deal for most shit just like locket did and most of sydneys great full forwards. its cunts like mathew lloyd who pussy out and get all the frees. watch mathew lloyd mark the footy and he will always kick his legs up so if he gets a slight bump he will hit the deck and likly get a free its fucking disgracful.

  • i was just discussing matthew lloyd with my uncle, we both said the same thing, its disgraceful

  • good man im glade ppl can see how pussy he is im a swans fan but i cant stand shit umpires, players who shouldnt be in the game eg leo barry the shittest cunt out! he did one good thing have a guess... but umpires who dont no the rules omg there players that couldnt make it in anything and there family history has been in the parking officers or transite police scum of the fucking earth

  • @supcuz333 why not do it

he kicked 100 in a season

    the man is a superstar

if you think its so easy, why dont you go out there kick your legs up and become one of the best full forwards of the recent decade

  • fukn hell....#1, he couldve gotten rid of it but he decided 2 try and be a superestar, he took glass on, he got away, he took kerrie on and he lost the ball...thats holding. #2 he took wirra on and then he took glassy on, got tackled and threw it. glass didnt get him high coz u can just see hall bob his head. thats holding....#3,he took a mark, played on and got caught...he got a fist 2 it but thats a 1 handed handball and thats a throw...i agree with u fully, gdmclean

  • the first one was holding the ball

the second one was probly holding the ball but he got a bit of a high tackle at first

the third one he handballed though

  • Umpires pet? Are you serious? Those decision may have been a bit dodgy with prior opportunity and such (if you get no prior opportunity and fend someone off that is not holding the ball btw) And he disposed of it legally after being tackled off the mark (any mark+play on is counted as prior) so its umpires calls there. But he gives away the most free kicks by far, umpires target him, those three examples are not good because the poster of this video obviously has a pre conceived buyist.

  • no but he threw it 4 the last 1, it dosnt matter if he fisted it away, its a one handed handball....ex. u no if u get tackled and tap it, its holding??same thing

  • In the last one as he went to kick it the player tackling him was within the 5 metre space of the mark following his direct opponent, he had no right to tacke him and it should have been a 50 metre penalty.

  • iiLOVE barryy

  • go chicky

  • the last one was legit, the first two were holding the footy

  • they were all ok for me.

  • Not holding the ball, the first guy to tackle him of each play was palmed off, and then when the 2nd guy came on, he either passed or it got raked out. How can you even call this holding the ball?? :s

  • he got rid of 1 of those legally, just 1

  • I am a lions supporter and dont care about either the swans or the eagles. This is definitely holding the ball. As soon as he (Hall) fends off defenders he is eligible for a holding the ball 'call', and not only is he tackled for a long amount of time with prior opportunity to dispose of it, he also fails to dispose of it legally (drops it in the tackle). Definitely home ground umpiring.

  • Its only a correct tackle if the player is held. - 15.4.1

Play continues if the player drops the ball because of contact from another player, this includes arms being pinned, being swung around, getting knocked out, etc... - 15.2.4

Those are the official rules macattack, with ref #. Check them out.

  • Yous said it yourself....... "if the player is held, it is a correct tackle". He is definitely held, has certainly had prior opportunity....... How is this not holding the ball? You would make a pretty terrible ump if you cannot see this. P.S. try to look at this objectively rather from a Sydney supporter's viewpoint, it might add some depth and reinforcement to your argument.

  • i agree with macattack........... Unfortunately. Hate the lions btw. Hall is definitely given a huge amount of leniency in these decisions. Love him tho! Swannies for flag in 08! P.S. Macattack you would make a good ump i reckon :)

  • LOl Hall >>> West Coast

  • Sydney are a blight on the modern game, Week in week out all they do is smother games so boring to watch, when was the last time Sydney played in a free flowing fast pasted game of football, it hasn't happened!

ps leigherin2007 enjoy your 05 flag you won't win another for a long time.

  • agreed, terrible decisions

  • Lol, yeah pretty shiot decisions there.

  • Fuck off ya west coast losers, barry could beat the whole team by himself!

west coast are finished now that the drugs are gone

  • @leigherin2007

where are sydney on the ladder? oh yeah, below west coast.

  • hahahaha barry hall is a skinner

  • he shouldn't be playing for the rest of the season coz of what he did to brent. braking his wrist = karma

  • Haha well he's out now either way. I don't know how Sydney have 3 wins but that will stop a bit from now on.

  • Hall never gets penaltys. I have no idea what you nutters are on about. You obviously arent wahtching the same game. It was amazing on Saturday night how many times he was pushed over and held off the ball the stupid, blind umpires just ignored it.

  • Blatantly obvious free kicks...changes to the rules are making our game soft, and the umpires interpretation of them is what I would expect form a mentally retared gnat. And Barry Hall is an animal, acting violently and on instinct...he needs to play whilst sedated

  • The reason Sydney (we see this especially with Barry Hall) get favourable treatment from the AFL is that the AFL are very keen to promote the game into the NSW market. Teams doing well does wonders for both supporter numbers and general interest - the AFL has a lot to gain from Sydney doing well, and the decisions often reflect this.

  • ok what gmaes do you watch Sydney never get in the back free kicks or holding the ball freekicks infact they scarcely get freekicks for anything

  • And yet in 2005 Andrew Demetriou said that the Swans played an ugly brand of football. Why would the CEO of AFL sabotage the team with a comment like that if what you say is true?

However I agree that Robert Walls is biased towards Sydney. :D

  • Yeah he does get it a bit better than most. He is just a wash up nowadays though, taking his aggression out on a bloke not even wary of it. Dirty thug.

  • very rash statement. i agree certain players are treated different to others but bad umpiring positions and angles create confusion

but yes, dropping the ball or placing it on the ground is a frre kick.

  • im a collingwood supporter (so im noy being bias) the first 2 of those are holding the ball, because he did not dispose of the ball correctly, but in the last i think he may have just got the handball out.

  • weagles are just jealous that some people actually have talent.......none of those were holding the ball.......and he never gets anything anyway....how often do you see him get a free kick

  • @TheCookieMonster000 that first one was clearly holding the ball you tool

  • none of those were holding the ball cause he disposed of it learn the rules.

  • also i might add that barry hall never gets a freekick anyway so hopw is he an umpires pet

  • This is the most uninformed statement I've heard for the 2008 season. There are 2 methods of disposal, kick, handball. A drop is not disposal - and results in dropping the ball. If you are saying they were handballs you are realy clutching at short straws.

  • well they weren't hand passes but they weren't drops it wasn't convincing enough for holding the ball

  • If it's not a handball, then the rules are it is dropping the ball. Unless the ball is taken by another player those are the only possibilities, you cant have neither.

  • what if a player is running on the wing with noone within 30 metres of him and it slips out of his hands. by your definition he could be pinned for dropping the ball!

  • The first tackle was the only one that probably deserved a free kick. The second bit was inconclusive, you cant tell if he got the handball. The third shouldn't even have been included in that video. He disposes of it correctly, so fuck you.

  • Brilliant Video!! I have been saying this for years, Barry Hall simply throws his arms out when he gets tackled, therefore incorrectly disposing of the ball, yet he gets away with it.

  • i doubt it really matters

  • Have a cry mate

  • roflmao.

    it was kinda funny.

  • omg...get over it guys...wat was it?..like last year or 2 years?..i dunno...all i know its a new season now...

  • That first one was definitely holding the ball. He took him on with alot of time.

But come on how long have the AFL been helping Sydney?

  • helping???.....sydney always gets written off...

  • with nice juicy lumps of cash dumped at your front door to give you a clear advantage over other teams in salary caps

  • Have a cry.

  • absolutely right Ashurkhan and it's absolute bullshit that they continue to do so.

  • west coast have just as much help from AFL they just spend it on Crack instead of Talent.

  • HE had prior opportunity even half a second once you take someone on if some pins you and you lose controll its holding the ball cockhead!

  • Could people that dont understand the rules of the game please refrain from commenting and making yourselves look like fools? None of those were holding the ball decisions.

  • Haha mate, I HATE the eagles with a passion, but they were clearly holding the ball, he had prior opportunity and tried to take people on and didnt dispose of the ball properly. That last one as well is holding the ball if you clearly play on from a mark like that and dont dispose of it, holding the ball again.

  • Can converted thugby fans please refrain from pretending to know better than AFL purists? Youre embarrassing yourselves....

  • none of those should have been free kicks. he got rid of the ball at decent rates.

im not a Sydney supporter but I umpire myself

    : )

  • He didnt get rid of it properly and he kept trying to take on people. What do you umpire mate, under 9s or something?

  • The best bit is he got done for holding the ball alot during 2007. Most overrated "star" in the AFL. Had a completely shit 2007 just like he is. SHIT

  • to fuckin right, barry hall sucks donkey dick, thinks he the best player to have ever lived and is one of the most cheap, dirty players in the AFL.

  • I second that!!!!

  • Thirded!

  • ur a douchebag.

  • no, he jsut gets penalised for everything else!

  • because he dose all this shit that dosnt need to be done..

  • ahh i hate barry haul

  • Pet.. Um yeh no mate, get a brain.. One of the most penalized players in the game.

  • Haha that Davis goal would have stung, because that was definatley holding the ball.

However, this was just one game of umpiring. Like Plugger's said, Hall IS the most penalised player in the game because he's got this reputuation to be a bully, and umpires already have the whistle ready in their mouth when the balls in his vicinity.

Also, you'll find Judd gets the same "Holding the Ball" treatment from umpires as well.

  • Lol that is awesome...no way he would have got away with that in the '07 season...unless he played for Collingwood

  • who would want to pin him...he's too scary!

  • boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

  • top comment

  • No way. Hall is penalised way too much anyway.

  • hall is the most overated player in the afl and all them clips of them should have been holding the ball or dropping the ball

  • I agree, Barry Hall gets rorted by the umpires too often....even the AFL umpires managing director has agreed that he thinks that Hall gets penalised too much because umpires believe he is able to play on regardless of free calls against him

  • Totally overrated. Just another reason to hate Sydney..

  • 1st one YES, 2nd one 50/50, 3rd one NO

  • like a West Coast fan can even try and talk. Chris Judd can throw the ball at the umpire's head when he is caught and not get a holding the ball decision go against him

  • Umpire's pet? HA! Those were bad decisions, yes (although the last one looked as though he might have got a handball away), but those go a very short way towards balancing the ledger. Hall gets the roughest deal from the umpires out of any player in the competition.

  • True. I don't think Barry Hall is a teacher's pet though. But he is dirty and does get away with a lot.

He thinks and can break through any tackle...

    WCE PREMIERS 92, 94, 06!

  • that play nearly only resulted in bad umpiring and ended up a syd goal

  • Umpires Pet? OMG, Bj is right, Hall never gets free kicks. In the game against the Saints (07, round 7) he pushed his opponent in the chest with one hand. And they penalised him for holding.

The commenators were disgusted. Barry Hall gets ripped off so much. While players like James Herd and Matthlew Lloyd just need to fall over and they get a kick in front of goals.

  • Robert Walls is probably the most biased of the commentators on free to air TV. He loves Sydney

  • thats a joke, hall doesn't gets penalised ALL the time. He also can't buy a free kick when defenders constantly hold him. Most of those were frees but they aren't the norm. I would say most neutral people would agree that hall doesn't get the best go with the umps

  • he is sorta an umpires pet i guess, against the crows in round 4 after a free kick was given to nathan basset, he got the ball and just shoved it in his gut, and wasnt 50 metres.

  • Umpires Pet? Hall couldnt buy a free kick if he wanted to lol. Now an umpires pet is Matthew Lloyd

  • At least 75% of them were free kicks.

  • ha ha 2.25 of them??
