  • @TheLittleLegionnaire ... OK got ya, .... Don't think Joe is playing on this song, As the Pogues are playing in the background during his interview then he goes to warm up...... Comes on and plays London Calling in another video.... Awrabest Owen ... Viva la Clash

  • 3:23 shane dropped the tipper for the bodhran

  • I don't suppose that this stuff is available commercially on DVD?

  • @hanshotfirst1138

Yup. I have it. Search for "The Pogues Live at the Town and Country Club"

  • just wonder why kirsty killed herself....

  • you can barely understand what he's singing, even with the whole lyrics in your head :P hahaha

The Pogues are just awesome and Shane is the only one who can get away with that without a scratch.

  • @GietjeM Shane sounds a lot better here than he has recently, that's for sure. I think he sounds great here. He's in his prime.

  • how did strummer die??what a toon btw

  • Luvin The Teeth...

  • The world will never see the likes of the Pogues again; they are like the perfect storm...a once in a lifetime phenomenon.

And dear Joe Strummer, a human being of the highest order, RIP.

  • 3:02 Love that face!

  • shane mate, the idea is to HIT the bodhran! aww bless him, he's great. God rest Strummer the great :)

  • Who would have guesses Strummer would have died before MacGowan?

  • Strummers a pretty good storyteller.

  • Bloody BRILLIANT song! <3 Made better yet by the Japonese subtlitles and the fact that the song title isn't in Japonese.

  • japonese? go smoke another one

  • I don't. I just can't spell. I took six years of French, so I can't spell at all in English. In French, the word is "japonais."

  • jus recieved my tickets 4 the pogues in brixton dec 19 cant fuckin w8 lots of drinkin lots of drug takin lots of singin and lots of dancin

  • Man shane is messed up haha. Him missing the drum killed me funny shit. Check phil out...he get so energetic. Terry is very talented one of the most talented out there. Spider is a legend as well.

  • man, drumming must be one of shane's greatest but most unrecognized talents

  • Ahahaha ! Shane needs to show how to play like this !

    Love you Shane ! ;)

  • haha on 1:35 he compleatly misses it!

  • Check out Terry Woods shite! The guy is fookin' on fire!

  • I'd rather not watch Terry shite. Quite enjoy watching him play though.

  • Someone needs to show Shane how to play the Bodran.

Or maybe he can when he's sober. Too bad he is so talented. It makes it tought to hate him.

  • Can't hate someone just because they can't play the Bodran!

Class video. Much faster then any recorded versions, brilliant.

  • Sorry, I should have been clearer. I don't hate him. I think he is amazing. I just wish he would climb on the wagon and let his talent show through. Then again, maybe it's the booze that lets his talent show through. But yes, it's a killer song, and a great version. I saw this played many times in pubs in Newfoundland, and some of the talent there would give this version a run for it's money.

  • have you seen the version with pogues and dubliners together? classic performance

  • Yeah, that is pretty great. I still a kick out of their Tonight Show debacle. The chance to own the US, and Shane can hardly stand.

  • I gotta check that out. I think Shane has a great heart, as can be seen in the last clip from this show. Such a talented guy, it's ashame about all the time wasted boozing- think he'd be a lot happier if he could kick it.

  • would he?

  • No. . .

  • If you like this kind of music, check out the Irish Descendents and the Fables, both from Newfoundland, or Ireland West. :)
