@WestboroDocumentary In sex education they don't teach the mechanics of sodomy any more than they teach the physical mechanics of vaginal sex to younger children. They simply teach the dynamics of the family. ALL families including single parent families, sibilings raising siblings, grandparents raising grandchildren, and YES Same sex parents. Don't you home school your kids in your compound? What do you care what my kids learn?
IMO, they shouldn't talk about sexuality especially in elementary schools regardless. I don't care if they didn't mention penis or vagina. Don't mention to these kids at this age. They don't care about any of this at that age. They only care about what they actually are which is either a boy or a girl. You teach about acceptance once they understand what acceptance is.
@StylistecS I don't know what world you are leaving in, but between children and their older siblings and the media, they are expose to a lot of things, which includes sexuality, whether or not they know what it truly is is an entire different story. If you watch the video, one young girl said she doesn't like when people at her school say, "that's soo gay!" referring to something as bad. Clearly, children have an idea of what this stuff is, probably from hearing their parents and so forth.

Think about it, Children movies/shows old(late 50's- now) There was "romantic" relations between the leads almost ALWAYS-Blue Lagoon, Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, Power Rangers, Jumanji, Hercules, even blues clues had the other little pink dog that the male blue dog liked. All these ending with main kissing scene of love and romance.(besides blues clues obviously)..lol

DIsagree with this poster. If I'm going to teach by child about anything regard sexuality, it is going to come from me. Sexuality should not be taught to a 4-5-6 or even 7 year old kid. They don't care nor do they have any care for sexual activities at that age. The schools have no right to teach them something as personal as this so stop trying to be a home for these kids.

I don't believe homosexuality should be taught in school. I find it very disrespectful to parents that might now want their children exposed to these kind of ideas. Do I hate gays..no. But i think they should stop holding themselves abover others. I just watched your video and you made a lot of good points!! In my personal opinion those kids were a little young for that kind of education. That's just a personal view because I think at a small age there are certain things only a parent should tell their child BUT in middle school and high school if GLBT EVENTS were to take place and parents were fully aware and had to give permission for their child to participate these issues wouldn't even be worth mentioning.

For instance, if you are going to have a baby with someone, you have obligations both to the baby and to the person you're having a baby with.
Gays want to treat the baby as a thing - a doll or pet they can just "give" like a gift - and they want to just use and then be done with the child's other parent.

They are human beings, and they have rights of their own, needs of their own, and feelings of their own.
Every adopted child has the right to grieve for the loss of the real parents - which some adoptees liken to an amputation - and the right to know that the process was both necessary, reaction to a real crisis, and also guided by THEIR best interests.

Some kids insist there is no wound - but then many later experience painful "shattering of denial" experiences.
Nobody has the right to deliberately force a child to be motherless or fatherless. Adoption is for real crisis only.

But still, a family that IS willing to do whatever is best for the kid needs to be recognized as inherently better than a family that is willing to take the kids, but is not willing to actually meet the child's needs.
Single and same-sex couples cannot provide for the needs of a child as well as a real family can, because same-and opp-sex parents are NOT interchangeable.

@dustyleviz When i was a child, I had no one telling me 'it's ok to be gay', I grew up with my father slamming homosexuality, negative portrayals in the media, kids from school slamming other kids for showing ANY form of affection. By the time I was a teenager I was severely depressed, dated a few boys (I'm a girl) and felt extremely uncomfortable in almost every social situation. If I had someone early on telling me 'it's ok' I'm sure I would've felt more confident with myself.
I'm sorry about your experiences growing up. When I was a kid I was bullied and made fun of because I have red hair and freckles, and it sucked, but they never made a red-head pride day for me. So what's the difference? If we understand other religions in general, there would be far less violence and possibly wars. IMO, they shouldn't talk about sexuality especially in elementary schools regardless. I don't care if they didn't mention penis or vagina. Don't mention to these kids at this age. @StylistecS I don't know what world you are leaving in, but between children and their older siblings and the media, they are expose to a lot of things, which includes sexuality, whether or not they know what it truly is is an entire different story. If you watch the video, one young girl said she doesn't like when people at her school say, "that's soo gay!" referring to something as bad. Clearly, children have an idea of what this stuff is, probably from hearing their parents and so forth.

DIsagree with this poster. If I'm going to teach by child about anything regard sexuality, it is going to come from me. Sexuality should not be taught to a 4-5-6 or even 7 year old kid. They don't care nor do they have any care for sexual activities at that age. The schools have no right to teach them something as personal as this so stop trying to be a home for these kids.

I can understand that homosexuality is against some people's beliefs and it's okay to have that view. It's not okay to demand that it not be taught in school, or deny same sex couples equal rights like adoption and Marriage, which is the legal status for a couple on the Federal 1040.

I just watched your video and you made a lot of good points!! In my personal opinion those kids were a little young for that kind of education. That's just a personal view because I think at a small age there are certain things only a parent should tell their child BUT in middle school and high school if GLBT EVENTS were to take place and parents were fully aware and had to give permission for their child to participate these issues wouldn't even be worth mentioning.

@dorianstark the family values that conservatives are trying to value is the idea that kinship defines a family, and that with kinship goes with obligations.
For instance, if you are going to have a baby with someone, you have obligations both to the baby and to the person you're having a baby with.
Gays want to treat the baby as a thing - a doll or pet they can just "give" like a gift - and they want to just use and then be done with the child's other parent.

Children are not pets.
They are human beings, and they have rights of their own, needs of their own, and feelings of their own.
Every adopted child has the right to grieve for the loss of the real parents - which some adoptees liken to an amputation - and the right to know that the process was both necessary, reaction to a real crisis, and also guided by THEIR best interests.

Some kids insist there is no wound - but then many later experience painful "shattering of denial" experiences.
Nobody has the right to deliberately force a child to be motherless or fatherless. Adoption is for real crisis only.

But still, a family that IS willing to do whatever is best for the kid needs to be recognized as inherently better than a family that is willing to take the kids, but is not willing to actually meet the child's needs.
Single and same-sex couples cannot provide for the needs of a child as well as a real family can, because same-and opp-sex parents are NOT interchangeable.

If nothing else, you can introduce a student to the concept of homosexuality without spinning it as normal or not, good or bad, open minded or not open minded. @dustyleviz When i was a child, I had no one telling me 'it's ok to be gay', I grew up with my father slamming homosexuality, negative portrayals in the media, kids from school slamming other kids for showing ANY form of affection. By the time I was a teenager I was severely depressed, dated a few boys (I'm a girl) and felt extremely uncomfortable in almost every social situation. If I had someone early on telling me 'it's ok' I'm sure I would've felt more confident with myself.

If we understand other religions in general, there would be far less violence and possibly wars. Gay pride day making it's way into a public school - this is power and influence cloking itself as "tollerance." The obvious agenda is to showcase the gay vision to kids who quite frankly will be exposed to the concept on their own or hopefully by their parents when those parents see fit. It would be just as inapropriate as if a "heterosexual pride day" were to directly influence cariculum.

Have you ever complained about the Irish, Mexican, Italian, Asian, Black pride parades or pride months? I think there was a definate time when they were definately needed when these groups were persecuted. I am sorry but Gays are another group that is currently being persecuted at this time.

If that is true, then why could I not become straight no matter how much I tried before I came to terms with being gay? It sounds like you have all the answers on this so I would really want to know. You are some what right, I was in a really deep dark place and the devil could have been there. It certainly felt like it. It was actually when I was working like crazy to be straight. Once I came to except and love myself, it was the best thing I have ever done.

Why is homosexuality wrong? Because they have anial sex? I guess that would make all straight couples that engage in that evil as well. I have news for you. If your child is gay or straight doesn't depend on if you or their school tells them it is acceptable. I came from parents that believed homosexuality was wrong. Which is why I tried so hard to not be gay. It didn't work. Well over 90% of homosexuals come from straight parents.
