  • This sounds fantastic! I am definitately going to be using this method the next time I travel. Thank you!

  • thank you so much! gonna try this for my trip, as i really don't want to check my bag :)

  • How exactly is this 2 months of clothes? Still, seems like a good idea.

  • @screaminscott i guess you can wash it and reuse it so it will last you for 2 months and you can always change it up

  • I was wondering how I got here ... thanks Felicia XD

  • like a boss!

  • Thanks so much, I'm hoping to be on a trip in the not-so-distant future, this could sure come in handy,

  • And I’d like a comparison between packing the same clothes in the “normal” way where each item is folded individually. That would provide visual proof that this method really does reduce the total volume of items packed.

  • Wow, I never take that many shoes...or clothes for that matter. :) Of course, I never pack jeans either unless I'm going to visit family or stay in one place for a while because they take FOREVER to dry when you're traveling.

  • Holy balls O.o - this is pretty ingenious.

  • Excellent post; my dad had a similar method but not as neatly organized or laid out. Great idea with the shoe bags...will have to get some of those. Thanks!

  • That was brilliant. I have looked for YEARS for that kind of instruction. Thanks.

  • Thats really cool.

  • For the most part, yes this is an efficient method for packing. A few comments though.

    1) No self respecting man would wear zip off pants/shorts and no woman would wear a full length skirt OR and zipper adjustable skirt

    2) If you are packing for a flight, no airline will allow you to take medications and toiletries on your carry on

    3) Women often have high heels, not only flat shoes; completely changes the amount of space the shoes take up.

  • @mrslady1989 That is being argumentative just for the sake of it. What they showed us is fairly impressive and with some modifications then it would work for MOST everyone. MAYBE travelers (hikers, campers, backpackers across Europe, and I know of several MEN who worked for DHS) had a few pairs of slacks that zippered into shorts.

  • @Cahlwyn I totally agree. I'm a woman (and I happen to work for DHS. Heh.) and I always travel with zip off pants...in fact I usually bring two pairs of those and 1 pair of regular slacks and that's it for my bottoms. I might take a skirt with me if I think there will be an occasion to wear it, if not, I don't bother. And her saying that no airline will allow meds and toiletries in carry-on is just idiotic. mrslady1989 - this is the internet. Use it.

  • @mrslady1989 Erm.. I am pretty sure that airlines will allow TRAVEL-SIZED toiletries & PERSCRIBED medications on board............. lol

D: Well.. I suppose you could wear that single pair of highheels. Personally......... I dont understand how women can stand the pain! I certainly cant!!!

  • Holy sh-

  • Wait... zip off pants/shorts? Really? 1999?

  • @thousanddpapercranes This things are quite useful when traveling. Sure, they aren't formal wear. When you need casual and have cool mornings with hot afternoons they can be a literal lifesaver. Not everybody's a fashion nazi!

  • Where do I pack my books (usually 1 for every 4 days away) and laptop?

  • @arokh72 The carry-on backpack! Sure.. might take you a couple mins longer to get through the security check, but really........... do you want your priceless electronic goodies to be thrown around in the checked-in baggage!?

  • Followed Felicia Day's link and this is amazing! I can't wait to use this method when I go on my trip. Thank you for sharing.

  • OK, I'm impressed. I have trouble packing one bag for a night at the club and that is only one outfit!! And my bag is almost that roomy!

  • All fine and good until the TSA rifles through your bag and can't get it closed again.

  • Felicia Day sent me here.

  • Sent here by Felicia Day! Awesome method!!!

  • Was anyone other than me more amazed at her lovely smile?

  • Yep! You just got promoted by the lovely miss Felicia Day aka Codex :) Wow! I'm gonna start packing my clothes like that! Usually, I wear my clothes 2-3 days at a time, so with this method, I can get 3 months of clothes :)

  • Clever, But i doubt i'd be needing the second bag, 90% of the time im just wearing cargo pants, a singlet, and my leather jacket. using this method, i'd be able to pack clothes for most of the year :P

  • I'm so glad Felicia Day shared this link - totally doing this the next time I travel.

  • lol, I was just thinking this is about ti get hit HARD! great video, wish I was planning a vacation soon.

  • Wow. That's amazing. Thanks for sharing!

  • Incoming 200k+ views... all thanks to Felicia day :D

  • Oh wow! I love this.

  • "first we start with 2 pairs of shoes-" *walks off* I must have all 20,000 pairs of my shoes! ha ha.

  • You just got promoted by the lovely miss Felicia Day

  • @DGGabee True that.

  • will ferrell is going to play this guy in packing light the movie..lol

  • Thank you for this video!! I'm definitely going to try this method!! :-)

  • ياكثر قرقك صدعت بي وطريقتك حلوه بس اذا ابي غرض وشلون بفك هالكنز

  • I will try this method the next time I travel...I'm notorious for overpacking :)

  • Thank's you saved my life and my back.

  • @EL90291 You are welcome!!!

  • That guy was kind of awkward.

  • I've been looking up several of these videos. I just feel that they used this method poorly as far as wrinkling goes.

  • I was able to pack four pairs of jeans, 3 sweaters, and way too many shirts into my carry on using this method. it also takes practically no time to unbundle it. Don't knock it til you've tried it.

  • @urgeiss0real Thank you for your comment!!!

  • All I wear are jeans -_______-

  • Genius!

  • Sorry - but where are the change(s) of footwear, etc. Personal hygiene articles. And how do you pick ONE article out of the combined pack? Yes, I agree with the basic plan of packing as flat as possible - I've been doing it for at least 30 years - but I see little or no advantage to inter-folding all those pieces......................Selwyn Rose (selwyn@brorhail.org.il)

  • i love how the asian girl does nothing...

  • People, this guy is IMPRESSIVE!! I worked for an airline, and you CAN take a certain amount of toiletries, only certain places are REALLY picky about it, but damn im impressed! WELL DONE!!:)

  • very helpful! I am going to try this..I did the roll method and still had to check a bag, so I am ready to grab & go...no luggage clams in my future!

  • Where do the swim fins and pool weights go? Not in there. And not in my second carry-on item, which is a laptop case. And there is no way I'm going anywhere without water gym a couple of times a week...

  • It looks amazing how much you can put into such a small carry on. But the way you pack that mean you have to take them all out in order to get the one you want to wear.then it will be more work to unpack them. Thx anyway.

  • And then.. i will use the same boxer in 60 days? hahaha, i think that will disappear xD

  • 2-3 pants is enough

  • WITCH WITCH! But its amazing... Xx

  • WITCHCRAFT! O______O

  • show some of us how to pack a carry on for cold weather travel...so sick of these light clothes packing vids..wtf

  • @peachcashmere Thank you for commenting, we appreciate feedback. We stress layering for cold weather. You can pack the same method regardless of weather and adjust layers according to tempeature changes. 3 layers, and then Jacket are typical&to keep packing light, it is smart to invest in Omni-Heat thermal reflective clothing. It is important to bring a jacket appropriate to the type of weather. It is very possible to use this method for the cold, but we understand it does not work for some.

  • @PackingLightDotCom Ok thanks for replying to my comment. I travel mostly in the colder months. Tried these various packing methods and still had to check in carry on size luggage due to the sweaters. Oh well!

  • good stuff, thanks!

  • They even confiscated my shaving gel which was around 100 ml

  • Wow!!

  • 廢話多了一點

  • .....Thaaanx!!❥•.¸¸❥•.¸❥•.¸

  • U cannot carry toiletries in your hand carry. It will be confiscated.

  • @cherzz You are allowed 100ml bottles no more!! This is my experience having travelled recently.

  • @cherzz: I am sorry to hear that happened to you!! Based off TSA.gov, you are allowed to carry your 1-quart bag with bottles that are 100ml or less. As long as you pull out your 1-quart bag so the TSA offcials can inspect it. You shouldn't have any problem carry it on in either your hand luggage or carry-on suitcase. More information can be found at TSA.gov.

  • @PackingLightDotCom That's great... even if you carry 10 bottles of 100ml that's allowed?

  • Ha, looks like business clothing, where is the vacation gear? going somewhere cold? how would sweaters or sweathirts do I wonder? also toiletries?

  • Great in theory - but I think most of the clothing was maybe designed to be super light and thin, like Tilley Wear - it's supposed to be super easy and light and hand wash will be guaranteed to dry by the morning kind of clothing. My stuff wouldn't fit in his little suitcase, I can guarantee you!

  • Excellent demonstration. If can be split into two sections for those who change hotels frequently would be better. Otherwise fantastic demonstration.

  • @modakable: At Packinglight, we encourage multiple bundles for various climates and for those who change hotels frequently! We show the initial way of doing it and you could certainly improvise depending on your needs!

  • what a great guy

  • What? No underwear???

  • @Canuckoperafan the underwear was placed in the little blue hanger thing at the beginning

  • nice, l love it!

  • ummmmm....sorry. need more shoes.

  • This is amazing wow!!!

  • THIS KEEPS STOPPING, WHY?

  • Nigga my 2pairs of Jordans aint gunna fit in there like that. I need the box too cuz im swagged up bruh.

  • @iGraffSCAR your a idiot.

  • I'm gonna try it on my next trip. makes sense cuz it eliminates all the crevices and holes that usually get filled with socks, scarfs, etc.

  • how many pairs of undies and socks was in there? it didn't look very many.

  • Very Useful!

  • provided you don't change hotels every other day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sound like he have a full mouth of water ... Swallow it then continue talking man.

    Other wise, very good demo.

  • That was impressive

  • Really informative and great presentation. THANKS!!

  • I wonder if I could get Gee into my bag too...

  • Very clever!

  • bloody incredible

  • awesome.

  • brilliant! :)
