@emaimon1 I liked his voice, but the show in the first season didnt really go anywhere. The last 2-3 episodes took the story the way the it went later on, so no poin in arguing reallly.
This was great seeing all these again, so thanks for posting!
In two years and 17 days time it will be 20 years since it first aired, nonetheless, It is STILL my favourite TV show of all time I miss those days waiting for another episode to come on, and now mourn the loss of the actors who have since died who starred in it.
Farewell B5, you were a shining beacon in my life that's for sure.
great show, could have been better if they would have kept Sinclair as commander and develop the original story from season 1 instead of bringing gay Sheridan...
@emaimon1 You are the first person of whom I know who has ever liked Sinclair. Sinclair was old, uninteresting, and had a severe Thanatos complex. Sheridan was amazing.
@LeonSylon There won't be a Crusade continuation. You can tell that simply by the way the back storyline for it has been ignored in The Lost Tales, which is supposed to be set only a few years after Excalibur should have completed her mission.
@LeonSylon I think I would happily pay / bribe an executive at SyFy to show all 5 seasons of Babylon 5 than to produce another Ronald D. Moore prequel to BSG like " Blood & Chrome ". I liked BSG & even Caprica, but Babylon 5 was *** truly * EPIC *** !
@LeonSylon - The new BSG. Babylon 5 still trumps it in many, MANY ways. The re - runs of B5 would still play well on SyFy or some similar channel / network because of the ep. quality.
This series was pitched to Paramount, who said they weren't interested, and then ripped the idea off for the series "Deep Space 9", rushing it into production, and beating B5 by only a few months, even though Mike had to pitch it to a few more companies before he finally got a nibble.
@RedwoodTheElf It wasn't even months. DS9's pilot episode aired only 3 weeks before B5's pilot episode
.
JMS has said one reason Paramount copied B5 (to make DS9) is because they were pitching a new network called UPN in 1994, and they wanted Warners PTEN network to fail. They wanted Star Trek to squash B5 and its network
.
Eventually PTEN did fail, but Babylon 5 survived. And of course UPN merged with WB in 2006
I just want to start by saying thank you, you have made me remember why i love B5 and allways will. I think i'm going to watch it again hehe going to get the dvds out now :D
from what series is the first opening credits the one with I Belive when you leave a place a part of it goes with you and part of it gets left behind.. ?
@LuthorX87 It was from the Film: The Lost Tales. Not series 5 like the other guy said. Although the actual quote and not the intro was from an actual episode.
Season 1 was my fav , Sinclair was the best commander/captain ,It's a shame the show didn't continue with the original story after season 1.

Now, sadly, you can also add Jeff Conaway (Zack Allen) to the list of B5 actors who have now traveled "beyond the rim".

I hope not. Babylon 5 now is a masterpiece. If he should start working on it again, he should continue "Crusade"

@Varrenify I know there never will, and that not only because the storyline :/
sadly, most audience seems more interested in another Star Trek movie (11 sucked) or another Star Wars movie/series.

@Varrenify How did the Lost Tales ignore the Crusade story? I'm not seeing any inconsistency
.
BTW the plague in Crusade was supposed to be cured by season 3 (according to JMS)

What's the song at the end from, the chorus piece?
Mahewston 3 years ago
I think it was specially orchestrated by Christopher Franke for a special video within one of "Babylon 5" DVDs. Correct me if I'm wrong though. :)

Very good tribute. Zathras also went beyond the rim as well (well...the actor did)
