This guy is a great on the run shooter but did anyone else notice that when ever he scored against the duke goalie he would always always blame someone else that they got in his way
@meye1640 yes they do not slide to him because he doesnt cross the cylinder in most cases, he is dodging about 8 yards wide of it and shooting from 10+ yards out, which is a difficult place to slide to and generally a shot the defense will give up when forced to choose.

no in that game loftus was cheating to the far pipe because pyser stuck one at the top right corner. plus pyser always shoots to far pipe so loftus was trying to beat him there
is it just me but do most of the great on the run shooters come from hopkins? im not saying they have the best players but Pietramala does something to make them amazingly good on the run
Lol Rabil is much better than Peyser. Hence why he was the 2008 #1 draft pick... Peyser is very good, but rabil has more than a lefty alley dodge and a righty crank shot in his aresenal.
it could easily be said that Peyser is better, i tend to think Rabil is better only because he is usually guarded by a long pole and still manages to get his hands free and get off a great shot
steven is the man he coached one of my camps he said his favorite shot is a lefty on the run but he cranks when hes got time and room to hes so funny he told me hed rather shoot lefty than righty any day
he must also have a lot of whip in his stick because he is able to bring it so far back with out the ball falling out. its also his mechanics, he shoots mid stride so all his speed and momentum go into the shot, Rabil is probably the best at it, you can really see how his shot is in sync with his stride
naw he's really right handed but when he shoots on the run he like to go with his left cause if you see him in like the MLL combine he cranking with his right and also in the JHU highlight you see him cranking with his right
stephen peyser is sick like paul rabil is good at shootin on the run too but like peyser has that form anyone can learn from and his splits are gross(in the good way) i would have to say peyser is one of my personal favorites to watch shooting on the run
correct me if im wrong but i believe all his shots in this vid were left handed. other than that... awesome accuracy and great space seperation for his shots.
Yeah, he was being interviewed after the national championship game and when the interviewer complimented him on his 6 goals (which if you ask me 4 of them were from the same spot in the box and on the same place on the net) he said "I just shot like how I practice every day"
Don't know him personally, but I am about 99% sure that he is a RIGHTY. What I am 100% certain of is that he has spent an enormous number of hours working on his shooting technique! One simply cannot get to this level without putting in the time/reps.

@laxballer1021 he was blaming the defense for not sliding. If you watch carefully no one slides to peyser.

how does he get so much heat on the ball when his hands are so close to his body?

cuz he tourques the stick over his should and uses his wole body in his shot

ambi for sure. hard to tell, cuz he doms face offs with his right but cranks left!
Burnurego8 3 years ago
The shot at 1:42 is what I'm talking about. In that tournament, both semi and final games I saw his shot and the crank was ridiculous.
Pizack3 3 years ago
He shoots like Rabil, only drops the head behind his shoulders WAY further. That is some serious whip in that stick, but is awesome at scoring goals.
