since the initial inflation of the universe is as yet unexplained perhaps the continuing expansion of the universe is being caused by the same force that caused the first inflation, which would say something also about the nature of this inflationary source
The expanding universe going faster goes against finite materialist thinking, and leads to knowing there is a infinite force energy called God or Brahman or Allah or etc that does exist.
Notice how ALL physical science's today are finding evidence against materialism.
i would not say time travel is impossible. But even if we travel back, things will be as they were. That is to say, if i wish to go back 50 years from now, part of me would, may be, be an apple that my grandfather is going to eat, and other parts of me some other things in that time. therefore i can gain nothing going back, because things will remain as they were and i would not have existed as a person to observe it. If we change some parameters, then it would be a new future for us not past.
Then there is inflation, utterly irrational invented, only to keep time =0 (or creation event) in the story. accelerating expansion, dark matter, quantum relativity, all these issues fade if we think about the cosmic micro wave background as an event horizon.
This is good ! well presented, entertaining , informative and food for imaginative thinking. most of this material is quite pedestrian but I am provoked by the references to the big bang,,, I just don't buy it. anyone understanding this material should dwell on the flaws with big bang. As stated with some frustration upon hearing Re-normalization " that's not even wrong" instead of sweeping this elephant under the rug of dogma, It should be examined if we are to understand reality.
That was a great show. I was very surprized to see the second law of thermodynamics come into play. It states the increase of entropy. It causes an "arrow of time". I wonder that the continuing of time along with space may be a shadow or hologram of a low dimensional spot of information. This is an incredible series. It is scientificly based, but it is exotic and mind boggling in a wonderful way.
@steintanz Hey Tim! Mystics are much more believable than scientist, IMO, any way. ;c) If I can find it BBC (one of them) did a show on "time" - FWIR, it was better then this one. If it's found, we'll up it.
@heuh3 It's dependent on the mystic/scientist in question and it wasn't a joke. And, I know exactly how "my" computer was built. See, I ordered an armful of comp parts from newegg and the day they arrived at my house - I assembled (aka built) it. But wait, there's more. I then installed Ubuntu as my primary OS and virtual box. Then, I went on to install XP, 7, CentOS (dev server) all in their own little virtual slice... a 'multi'system!
@heuh3 Bottom line, I'm grateful to not be offended by a complete strangers thoughts. I'm grateful for being able to think for myself. I'm grateful to be a part of the whole of human consciousness and to be one who understand what that entails. Plus, many other things I'm grateful for - including, but not limited to, Mother Earth.
That's great and all, but my point was, scientific research led to technological innovation which led to your computer, how do you put more faith in mystics compared to science? These are two totally separate things.

I just wish I could see the big bang in three dimensions instead of two.

Interested to hear rational views.

Hi Anthony!
Another fascinating, weird scientific adventure. Compared to this all the mystics' stories make perfect sense, eh ;o)
Thanks for sharing the two parts!

You seriously think mystics are more believable than scientists? Were you joking? How do you think your computer got built? Using mysticism?

@heuh3 It's pretty easy once you've traveled my path. The comment you had a problem with was a little over the top, admittedly.
Didn't mean to offend you. Take care.
