my roots grew into my mat and now i cannot move my plants around . what do you suggest? it has only been a month. do i need to buy a new mat once a month?
I was looking for Flood and Drain hydro info and I end up getting a sales pitch. This is the same crap I see on TV late night. Slamming the competition and making claims about the new wonder product. Since you chose to cheapen your product with this tactic, you could have at least got the "Slap Chop Guy" to make this commercial a little more interesting.
WAS INTERESTED IN TRYING STG PRODUCT AND PLACED AND PAID FOR MY ORDER (THE SPECIAL FROM THEIR WEB SITE)AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY ORDER.IVE REQUESTED TO EITHER GET MY PRODUCT OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK,NEITHER HAS HAPPENED.WORD TO THE WISE IFYOU WANT TO TRY STG DO SO THRU ONE OF THEIR VENDORS
@TheNomadic69 If you are using the CAP EBB-12 you can either use the #7 Deluge insert or Hail mini cubes. We recommend you try both side by side, they will both work well, but chances are you will prefer one over the other. If you are growing in another system, same answer, but you will have to size out the Storm insert to the size of your net pot, we have quite a few. Same suggestion on trying both side by side. stay in touch love to hear how things go.
@on3sayjon Thank you for the comment. Matt is not a big fan of F&D tables, so we didn't to many vids, it's one of the oldest type methods out there and all those growers are pretty much die hard rockwool guys. No doubt STG Blocks work very well in a F&D table, but getting RW growers to switch it tough. Our main focus and least path of resistance is on manufactured systems and hydroton. Based on a ton of feedback from growers, using STG in these systems has been a HUGE winner for us and them.
I finally understand enough and have the knowledge about growing to be able to handle a hydro system and be successful so as I build my own system i'm definitely gonna be watching your videos and making a system that works for me and the conditions i have to deal with. So thanks again for your lectures, videos and advice. You are the reason I am a smart, successful grower & I'll catch you sometime.. might be a few years cuz I mite eventually get into an aero-hybrid system and have no life. Peace
what's up Matt, I caught your lecture on building hydro systems at DH. When you said that first timers should just start with soil, at the time i dismissed what you said thinking i could handle a hydro system but you were totally right. I used youradvice, started out w/ soil & really got a great understanding of how the plants grow, how nutrients, temp, etc. effect everything & I can't thank you enough. You were totally right and I would have been too overwhelmed and unable to handle the system
not to be a hater but you are selling your product a lil to much i mean i didnt really learn anythihng about the flood and drain......your dwc video though is a good video
@lookoutbitch Constructive comments are always welcome. What you are seeing is an evolution of the videos. The first ones did have a strong focus on promoting STG products, as we were just entering the market. Once that was done we put more focus on grower education. New ones are coming out soon, that will take a new direction with a new personality, I think you will like them. Thanks for the comment.
@like2thc we have 40 some videos on the site. some are naturally about STG some are not. Some of our products hold lots of water and some do not. Let us know if you have a question or if we can help you with your grow. We are just trying to be helpful. No need to be a hater man. Negativity, is just a bummmer.
it's hard to compare it to pellets, to rockwool yeah, but pellets can be reused and reused and..... i have used the same pellets for 2 years... is this bad? youhave to toss this stuff each time. How much is a slab and 3.5 inch cubes compared to a bag of pellets.
i buy about 6 rockwoll blocks every three weeks. you want to send me a sample of 6 blocks and if i like it i will switch, then i will buy every 3 weeks 6 blocks. :)
i live in california. i will send you my adress. i will do a side by side grow. i have 3 ebb and flow tables set up. i harvest every 3 weeks. and you are right i use a coco mat as well.
Has anybody expeirented with resovoir topping up instead of complety discarding nutrient. I like the idea of only topping up what the plants use. When the plants are smaller you dont have to fill the tank as much.
yeah ill top it up with just water as it lowers... when the water lowers the nutrients get more and more concentrated... i mean the plants use way more water than nutrients so by topping it off and maybe adding like a 10% strength solution when your ppm drops you can stretch the full changes out quite a bit... look at limbo's grows, he uses a 1000 litre res. and only tops it off
i have never experienced any difference on cf readings redardless how much the water levels drops. if you top up only with water the cf reading becomes too low. i find no difference in the cf meter reading when the water level drops.
So far very happy with results I am seeing using the Deluge inserts for the ebb n grow. MATT WHY DO YOU NOT THEM SO THEY FIT CORRECTLY IN THE EBB N GROW BUCKET??? they sit minimum of 3 Inches below the Top of the Bucket, is there a reason for this? is it a Big deal? Don't know. No complaints so far about your products, I am completely new to growing and my plants look as good as guys who have been at it for years very easy to use.

Why don't you provide instructions on how to use these system rather than trying to push your product? I would be much more likely to buy a product from your company if your videos weren't full of propaganda and contained some helpful information. It's your video so you can do whatever you wish, but I'm sure you get what I am hinting at! At this time, your product is far to expensive to even try. When introducing a new product to the market, you have to price the product comparably! Thanks.
They aren't selling the systems. They are selling the grow media. Why would they waste time promoting a product that they don't make? They are showing you how to use their cubes, not the ebb and flow system.
I love the videos and I can tell Matt has a passion for his products. Sure to Grow is another effective option in the garden aresenal.
I got to try the loose fill, 4" blocks, and seed starting blocks before they got bigger. They are great. The only one I had problems I had using was the loose fill as it wasn't wicking, but pretty much anything can be tweaked.
It is great to see the usage of the products spelled out. Thanks for the videos!
