Neither Black Metal nor Metalcore use inhales, there may be a few bands/songs that have them. However Goregrind bands gurgle with inhales, and I think Brutal Death Metal/Brutal Deathcore bands do it as well.

1. I like some deathcore, so don't get pissed off at me for this, but what most people have against deathcore is, like all core genres, all the bands save a handfull of oustanding musicians, sound to much alike to discern. It's not like they're all the same, but the songs just feel like they're cutting and pasting elements from a cache of genre cliches. The Red Chord is most definately deathcore, but they are one of the few in the genre that stand out, so it's all good.

you may not categorize them as Deathcore, but that's what they are. Death, grind, blast beats + hardcore breakdowns and gallops just to put it simple terms. the red chord are not only one of the forerunners of the type but also the cutting edge, which is probably why it's a bit confusing. They are a lot more like The Acacia Strain than As Blood Runs Black, the former being a band that pushes boundries and the later being just pure, straight deatchcore.

Red chord is deathcore, they have all the elements of a deathcore band. Just because the genre is looked down upon doesn't mean people need to defend the band by saying they're not this or that. What I think makes The Red Chord so cool is that while they are in a genre notorious for lack of imagination or inovation, they make their work sound so unique and different that sometimes they blur the lines into other genres and into undefined sounds. They're among th few standouts in the genre.

Yeah, it sucks that people need to group everything together and then just judge bands by their label, not the skill, sound or what have you. Unfortunately, it's what people need to do as humans to make it easier to describe and relate things, it's hardwired into our brains.

Well that is an issue though, there is a point where just heavy, dissonant riffing creates a sort of shambling mess of unorganized sound, which in some aspects is the downfall of deathcore. I won't point any fingers.

They were pretty damn good in Bristow. But that was also the first time I had ever heard them. Mastodon, however, didn't play nearly well enough to be on the main stage. Their drums were way too loud, and it obscured everything else.

No, the vocalist Guy used to work behind the pharmaceutical desk at a convenience store. Every track on the album is about either a regular customer that he gave nicknames for (black santa, antman, hospice residence, etc.), or events that happened there. That, I believe, is why the album is called Clients.
