  • THE BEST VERSION of THE BEST BOND THEME EVER !!! thanks a heap for this

  • I am like #1000 -yes..

  • @DATDUDEFELN yo feln fuck drake

  • What? Dahl contributes to Bond?! Now all we need is Burton to make an iteration. 'Everything' covered in gun-metal chrome... Er, never mind. XD

  • Saw this at a DRIVE IN theater. My favourite Bond theme, and I am a huge McCartney fan forever. Live and Let Die maybe a tie or a close second followed by Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger"

  • wow you really ruined this song...

  • Brilliant.

  • I love ALL the Bond themes. They remind me of a simpler life when not everything wasn't "in your face". The Bond movies from the '60's especially so as they were a form of escapism. Thanks to all who post these clips/tracks.

  • Favorite Bond intro of all time.

  • If Craig had sung this he'd still be on the show. :P

  • I first heard this on "Monitor '67" (radio show hosted by Ed McMahon on NBC).

  • This is the ALTERNATE version (with fuzz-tone guitars) that NS re-recorded.....

the "easy-listening" version she did is actually in the titles.

  • One of my favorite James Bond movie theme songs.

  • Best opening sequence EVER! And Nancy belting out this song, so powerfully, who couldn't love this!?

  • only twice...

  • Nancy has her father's singing talent...K

  • Reminds me of when I was a little boy. We used to go from NW Indiana to Chicago, my folks and I, to watch James Bond movies. I was only aroud 7 or 8 yrs old I think. My dad (RIP) was a Bond nut. These were the good Bond movies when MGM took them seriously. Not the silly stuff of Roger Moore.

  • Send a dollar to Japan for Odd Jobs family.

  • @Thescreensaverr

    Korean. Still... nice sentiment.

  • I love this song...

  • “You only live twice:

    Once when you're born

And once when you look death in the face.”

    -Ian Fleming

  • god damnit this song sounds so familiar!

    Verve Pipe- Bittersweet symphony anyone

  • best day of my life? I was sitting on my room just browsing the web etc etc, suddenly a distant song appeared from the livingroom, it was this song, I entered the livingroom finding out that the movie just had started

  • how much does the dvd cost

  • He made the best James Bond theme songs. They were the best and set the tone for the movies... wonderful!!

  • The most beautiful film theme in the history of cinema composed by the legendary John Barry who will not be forgotten-the music will live on-R.I.P John.

  • Get the book called "THE BOND CODE" , The Dark World of Ian Fleming and James Bond. It's an Excellent book, and gives alot of insight to the Hidden Symbolism in the James Bond movies.. Ian Fleming was a Genius

  • um belo trabalho destes bem que poderia estar liberado para a minha estante no orkut. É uma pena ficar guardado.

  • Correction: This is almost the hit version. This is the one that's played on the oldies stations with a discernable edit during the orchestra instrumental section towards

    the end.

  • THIS version kicks ass compared to the unenhanced version. This is the HIT version. Other version sucks

  • @TheMdffyx Never heard this one before ; any idea why there were two ?. I like this less as it went on ; too produced after the first minute

  • Love this version much better than the movie version...thanks so much for posting! :)

  • Thank you. Beautiful Graphic's and a wonderful song as original and crisp as the day it was written and sung. A very nice tune for a great James Bond Movie. Thanks again for posting ti !

  • Meet Ken Wallis and ''Little Nellie'' at ''Stars of Time'' The Helicopter Museum, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset on Sunday 31st July 2011.

  • Brilliant,just brilliant :-)

  • There we were..a packed Movie theatre..the two of us all of 18 years old hormones out of control ..literally reeking of Jade East Cologne..and watching these absolutely stunning Japanese women...I dare not continue..!

  • I was an egg im my mamma's ovary when this movie came out lol....

  • Shame we only realise what we have when it's gone, John Barry a Picaso in music !

  • nahh, this pimped radioversion is shit, the real one is waaaay better

  • R.I.P. Japan

  • I will do a cover of this before I die. But I may live twice....

  • much better than the movie version :-)

    i love this :-)

  • great

  • Bin Laden will live twice

  • @DancingNinjaKid

    if only he could

  • Fantastic Easter song!

  • Japan will live twice!

  • Barry: One life for yourself and one for your dreams. Thank You for Your music

  • Slightly different from the movie version, this radio version uses vocal harmonies,double-tracking and a more varied orchestral accompaniment. The only thing wrong with this movie was nothing,if only Dr. No would have stuck to the book version until the end, that way this movie wouldn't have repeated the space flight .WW3 scenario for a 2nd time, and would have ended up being a fresh new plot, instead of a repeat.

  • Millenium

  • Very good song sung by Nancy Sinatra.

  • This is my fav James Bond

  • The best of all the Bonds, (love that Volcano!) and the best musical theme.

    Was Blofeld behind the earthquake?

  • @44032 which earthquake u mean, man?

  • @44032 Oh wait, nevermind. I know what you mean know. As for the answer...who knows?

  • john barry york u.k hero ..died new york usa...rip

  • Interesting version, thanks for posting.

  • My personal favourite Bond theme...just!

  • Simply wonderful.

  • Everyone please say a prayer and send a donation to the country of Japan. One day I would like to visit this amazing and beautiful country.

  • @elm495f3 always think of Japan when I hear this beautiful haunting ballad. Prayers to Japan. The land

of the rising sun will live thrice and beyond.

  • @elm495f3

ah yes i here they have great women who will go with you for less then 30 pounds turely a great country

even know us common folk will be ever be able to affound the hostess bars all shop land

but there is more to the place i am sure

  • One of the most Best Bond themes

  • Where would these films have been without John Barry? He had so much to do with more than just the James Bond Theme! They should've done a special tribute to him at the Grammy Awards this year. He certainly deserves it.

  • @LesbianVampireLover Did they mention his name during the Oscars?

  • Asian Bond movie. Good movie but a bit ponderous. Song has been sampled a few times in various forms.

  • If only the amazing John Barry could live twice and give us his gift all over again...........

  • Brilliant music by Barry-R.I P John-you will never be forgotten!

  • R.I.P.

    JOHN BARRY.

  • RIP John Barry. You might not live twice, but you will forver be known as a fantastic composer.

  • @TheZauer

Oh how many knew that John Barry has passesd.

It seems like ephemera but there' s a lot of us who's music he touched to the core.

    Was it Connery or Berry?

    Maybe both?

  • @TheZauer Did he compose more of the music for the movie? There's a glaring disconnect in the music track; on the one hand are the classic Bond music tracks for assorted moments of tension or fight scenes, chase scenes and such; but on the other hand, there's this other hefty portion including Japanese instruments and orchestral variations on the title song theme that have so much more depth. I watch this a couple times a year just to enjoy the orchestration.

  • @Dayepipes You are right!

  • @Dayepipes Yes, Barry did all the music except for the singing lol.

  • @TheZauer iyo = in your opinion he might be composing for someone else now

  • RIP John Barry, you created absolutely sublime music for our ears...Thank you

  • RIP John Barry, you made my life richer and you never knew me...

  • RIP John Barry. Thank you for all these magnificent songs!

  • James Bond is a PUSSY.

  • @Hunternet7

    HEHEHE ;-)

  • @Hunternet7 : You worded that sentence wrong. I sure you meant to say James Bond gets a lot of PUSSY.

  • @livardo as well as aids

  • @livardo

  • @livardo that is PUSSY GALORE you dolt! LOL

  • @Hunternet7 look at ur self

  • James Bonds good.

  • I like and respect both versions of the song for what they are. The more subdued, sweetness of what you hear in the film's intro and then the 'big', magical dream-like feel this version gives. I must confess, I do much prefer this version. It's mesmerizing. Shame the instrumentation was snipped out around the 1:47 mark.

  • this version is way better

  • WOW!!! BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dirtyed1

It's the version released for radio play in 1967.

  • For those born in Generation Y (like me) and wondered where they may have heard the hook of this song from, it is sampled by Robbie Williams in his song "Millenium".

  • Not the best Bond movie, but a great song by Nancy.

  • This the best version of this song I've ever heard, it's lighty different from the one on the soundtrack. Can someone please tell me if it's available on cd or a downlad? Thank you for posting this version. Howie

  • Not the original soundtrack, not by a long way !!!!.

  • one of Connerys best Bonds. Along with my favorite of his. Goldfinger

  • This is a very nice song :)

  • if you listen to this opening with bang bang bey either nancy or cher it fits in perfectly and adds a darker feel

  • It is very post-Korean War cold war, very asian exotic, very cool. One of my favorite movies of all time.

  • Like so many Bond openings, the video was ahead of its time, the music is a timeless classic, and it embodies the Bond spirit of danger and exotic places and women.

  • What the hell is this crap. This is NOT the original song. This is layered and saturated crap. Whoever mixed this sucks cock.

  • @MontagTheMagician I know, what is this version? It's crazy!

  • @lensjockeyvideo This was the radio version. I remember it very well.

  • Beautiful movie, beautiful song, HOT singer! ;)

  • lol 1:05

Art Director: harry pottLE , there must stay pottER xD

  • I watched the Bond film, "You Only Live Twice" the other night for the first time in many many years. I was immediately impressed by Nancy Sinatra. Many great singers from Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, and Nancy Wilson all did the themes from Bond films in that era, but they certainly have nothing on Nancy Sinatra in terms of song styling and phrasing. This has to be my favorite Nancy Sinatra song. Just fantastic!

  • Einfach traumhaft

  • This movie and song as well as "From Russia With Love" and its song by Matt Monro are the two Bond movies and theme songs I like the most.

I have been watching Bond sice Dr. NO and I rate the earlier Bond movies as somewhat better than the later ones.

That is not to say that others are not good, but I had a preference for Sean Connery's Bond. The latest Bond, Craig is good too, but he lacks the dry British sense of humor displayed by Connery..

  • Невероятные ощущения когда слушаешь эту музыку , дай Бог каждому прожить такую вторую жизнь как у Шона Коннери!

  • Great singer, great song, great movie

  • u can tell this was the 60's by the way the music sounds.

  • @05tonytin be that as it may matey, many of us have this song deep in our psyche, and I for one will have it played at my funeral....whenever that may be..and the lyrics are ageless.

  • This was the first Bond movie is saw when I was 11 yo. at the show

    Still my favorite.

  • Crappy Bond movie, but great theme song.

  • in your opinion....pls dont judge things of the past if you didsnt live back them to see what a huge impact this movie made onn millions of people regardless of race.

  • Nancy was greatly under-rated , plus she was a babe+++ , wth a feminine carriage and a supertight body. Her performance in You only live Twice was, and still is, unforgetable. Makes me cry. Though this particular upload is damaged or incorrectly copied, no matter....God Bless her.

  • I get so pissed off when they say nancy and liza got a foot in the door. THEY WORKED THEIR PRETTY LITTLE ASSES OFF. They EARNED IT ALL!!! HATS OFF TO SECOND GENERATION!

  • This twangy version is definitely not the original film soundtrack. It is decidedly inferior to the original. Too bad.

  • i love it so English

  • a truly superb Bond theme music !!

  • Comment removed

  • epic

  • Not the movie version.

  • Last night saw "DR.NO" on one of the Dish Network channels.

I had seen it in 1962 and never again until last night.

It brought back good memories. Loved to watch a younger Sean Connery and a beautifull Ursula Andress...Ursula Undress as at the time I used to call that beautiful woman !

  • I still love to watch Bond movies. I have been doing that for over 40 yeras now... The best are with Sean Connery indeed, although the latest Bond is also good..

In all movies the blend of great songs and artistic visual effects make the opening part of each film very appealing. This song in particular I find it probably the best of them all -- very exotic song adn lyrics indeed -- at par with "From Russia With Love'.

  • @Zambior I on the other side, loved another way to die.

  • my dad's favorite Bond song. RIP Dad.

  • @Colierrannd2 ur dad had great taste! Rip

  • she did her best work with Lee Hazelwood.

  • @Zambior AMEN!

  • @Zambior i dunno, i liked awtd

  • was nancy british?

  • @FinalFantasyGirl666 No American. She is Frank Sinatras daughter

  • @ShahOfBlahII oh...ok

  • This is my favourite James Bond theme along with Tina Turner's GoldenEye.

  • Always loved the Bond intro songs - both the music and the visuals. I must admit, however, Duran Duran was not my favourite, but I do like the new Bonds

  • why cant they make movies like this today :(

  • Great, Great Video, probably Nancy Sinatra's finest performance. Goes back to the Vietnam era where a lot of our "Brothers in Arms" never had the opportunity to even "Live Once".

  • Nancy, Bond and this theme, the perfect trinity

from Chile to Nancy Sinatra and my friend Sean

  • My favorite Bond movie. Amazing song.

  • @masterfuu . Mine too. On both counts.

  • Nancy Sinatra's voice was so perfect for the era. One of my favorite Bond themes, even if the movie paled by comparison to some of the earlier chapters. I always thought Connery was the best Bond.

  • @PRR5406 i think pierce brosnan was the best

  • @TheEarl666 B U L L S H Y T E ! ! ! !

  • @gravity93zyr its just my opinion dont get so excited

  • このテーマ曲大好き!

    007の中でもこの映画が一番好きかも!

  • A truly bad mix of a truly great song. First-time viewers - go elsewhere to find the movie version.

  • My favorite Bond Movie

  • This recording, with Nancy overdubbed, is a disappointment, frankly terrible. Search for "007 You Only Live Twice(1967) - Title Song" for the real deal.

  • @sormu16 I love the original thatrical version, but WOW.. Nancy sounds so damned good in this version!.. sorry you dont share that opinion

  • @sormu16 Certainly agree with you there, this version is absolutely terrible. Abrasive and unpleasant, it's nothing compared to the soothing, lilting theatrical version.

  • @hapandleonard1 you're totally wrong about that, but thats just my opinion

  • They never play this anymore! Especially in this recession people do only live twice!

  • Le colonne sonore dei film di James Bond sono e saranno per sempre Stupende; e i loro interpreti eccezzioonalmente Bravi...

  • This version is from "Nancy in London," not the original (and much better) version. Bjork's bootleg version is also fantastic......

  • one of my favourite james bond soundtrack.

  • Imagine my disappointment when I bought Themeology by John Barry, and there was only an INSTRUMENTAL version of this song! Okay, there are 21 killer songs on the album, but this was the main reason I bought it. Guess I'll have to buy the whole soundtrack (:

  • Beautiful song-great filmm-they dont make em like this anymore.

  • This is one of my favorite songs, and the opening sequence is a classic

  • I'm sixteen and I grew up watching all the James Bond films. In my opinion, the ones with Sean Connery were easily the best, and I think it's safe to say that "You Only Live Twice" is my favourite of all the Bond films - and the fact that Roald Dahl wrote the screen play makes it even better!

  • This is not the American version of the opening to "You Only Live Twice." It's tarted up and faintly ridiculous.

  • You only live twice, Mr. Bond...

    :D

  • Loved this song.. and James Bond ;)

  • I've liked most of the Bond songs, but this one struck me a "exotic." Bond enjoyed the exotic.

  • you only live twice?, no, you only live once, but i like this song

  • I count myself as lucky to have been able to enjoy these "real Bond movies" and their incredible opening themes as a teen and young adult. This one and Tom Jones's Thunderball are my favorites.

  • The opening of "You only live twice" is visually terrific, like most Bond movie openings. But, albeit Bond movie themes are generally good, Nancy Sinatra's song tops them all: it's GORGEOUS!

  • I was actually terrified when he died. And im 15. I absolutely love 007.

  • Love this song. With the titles it's an art music video.

  • Long live Oscar.

  • I LOVE JAMES BOND!!

  • Great song my favorite bond movie.

Song gets me not sure if its tune or words or both, but it has magic.

  • You Only Live Twice or so it seems,

One life for yourself and one for your dreams.

You drift through the years and life seems tame,

Till one dream appears and love is its name.

And love is a stranger who'll beckon you on,

Don't think of the danger or the stranger is gone.

This dream is for you, so pay the price.

Make one dream come true, you only live twice.

And love is a stranger who'll beckon you on,

Don't think of the danger or the stranger is gone.

  • great song

  • Liked the song so much. I bought the album years ago.
