There's a glaring disconnect in the music track; on the one hand are the classic Bond music tracks for assorted moments of tension or fight scenes, chase scenes and such; but on the other hand, there's this other hefty portion including Japanese instruments and orchestral variations on the title song theme that have so much more depth. I watch this a couple times a year just to enjoy the orchestration.

I like and respect both versions of the song for what they are. The more subdued, sweetness of what you hear in the film's intro and then the 'big', magical dream-like feel this version gives. I watched the Bond film, "You Only Live Twice" the other night for the first time in many many years. I was immediately impressed by Nancy Sinatra. Many great singers from Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, and Nancy Wilson all did the themes from Bond films in that era, but they certainly have nothing on Nancy Sinatra in terms of song styling and phrasing. This has to be my favorite Nancy Sinatra song. Just fantastic!
