  • I love the Queen Victoria, but she doesn't really fit in right with Cunard. It was like she was slapped in last minute ( which she kinda was). Cunard is all about ocean liners, when I see the Queen Mary 2 I see an ocean liner, when I see the Queen Elizabeth 2 I see an ocean liner. But when I see the Queen Victoria I see a cruise ship. I like her, but she needs to be more of an ocean liner. And I hear that Cunard's next ship (the Queen Elizabeth) will look just like her, a clone ship.

  • Ocean liners should be sleek, and the hull should be more rounded, and the bow should be longer and should cut through the water like hot knife through butter and also have some powerful engines and certian propellers to make her fast like between 29-32 knots. That ship look so boxed up, like a mall out at sea only with fancy packaging.

  • To lala14293: we cannot bring back designs of the past, because ships like Queen Victoria cater for passengers of the present.

  • This ship is a huge ass eye opener for ship enthusiasts like myself. This is exactly what I hate about cruise ships these days. The square hulls and the top heavy looking superstructures with all of those fricken balconies! Simply atrocious. Why cant we bring back the design of classic liners.

  • that ship is sooo huge !

  • ugly ship!!!

  • The Queen Victoriadam

    The Costa Victoria

    The Carnival Queen

    The Victoriabourne

    The Victoria Princess

Like all their ship designs Carnival will have no problem renaming the clone if and when they decide to move her.

  • i dont cruise p&o anymore since carnival took over. i prefer a normal fly to the place holiday

  • i was at calshot and the view from my room was like tht huge ships going through was awesome

  • oh my gosh, this ship is so weird ;D

  • QM2 looks much better in my opinion

  • That ship is cool, but I still think Titanic was and is still the most beautiful ship.

  • The bottom half of this ship looks like a container ship and the top half looks like a london apartment building smacked on top. the Qe2 will always be a more elegant looking vessel.

  • true it real looks like a floating brick !!

  • carnival ships are ugly

    not cunard

i still think qe2 is much more graceful

but the Qv is a nice ship ' dont judge a book by its cover'

  • I can't believe that Cunard actually built such an ugly ship. Bring back the QE2!!

  • she isnt ugly take a good look at carnival ships!

  • They are plenty ugly too. I like the classical lines alot more. It seems that they would be more seaworthy too. As one of the officers on the QE 2 commented, the cruise ships look like "a block of flats".

  • Vista WAS an ok design till Carnival prostituted it throughout the company. The additions dictated by Princess who oversaw the passenger design make her look hideous. Her interior are borrowed elements from all over the Carnival empire. As someone else said "The Icky Vicky is a Ramada Motel on a raft".

  • What she is, is a total disappointment. The Vista Class design has been spread out way too much in Carnival to be considered an "original look". Vicky was designed by Princess, Cunard is managed by Princess, her tandem crossing shows she's in NO way a liner, she took a beating and inconvienced her and QE2 passengers. Did you catch the fake wood decks?

  • I especially hate those square sterns and overbuilt superstructures. I wouldn't want to be on it in any kind of heavy Atlantic weather. And it sure can't outrun bad weather like QE 2 could.

  • The "improvement" to the Vista Class are the new aft cabins now being added to all the Vista Class. The top deck restaurant while providing nice views is not a place to be in during rough weather. It also does nothing for her looks either. The QE2 had to slow down to keep pace with the Icky. had she sped up as she is designed to do in such weather she would not have had so many uncomfortable passengers. What's with the fake teak decks anyway?

  • whats so ugly about them=(

    is it the funnels??

  • i agree bro bring back Qe2 her and Qm2 are class Qv is to modern and not lyk cunard and very ugly lookin

  • oh come on give her a chance shes only just started sailing

  • he arrived today in port of rotterdam ! i saw that ship !

  • never knew this ship existed is it brand new ? i saw QE2 do her sea trials off the isle of arran way back in 1969 , god i feel old . lol

  • Yes she's brand new. She was Christened December 10 2007. She's based on the Holland America Line Vista class (ms Zuiderdam, Oosterdam, Westerdam and Noordam) So here principal design is not new. She will have a sister ship called (get a seat first) Queen Elizabeth and will delivered in 2010. Cunard called this ship an Ocean Liner don't believe it she's simply an cruise liner.

  • are you saying that the second qe will be like qv?

  • Yes the second will be a sister to the Queen Victoria.

  • Carol Marlowe has not said what the QE will be yet. But, Carnival equates originality with expense and they will have none of it. You can count on the new QE being a carbon copy of the Vicky on almost every way. What Carnival has given an already dummed down industry is yet another floating Ramada Motel on a raft.

  • P&O/Princess who not only run Cunard but designed the Vicky and the upcoming QE confirmed through Carol marlow that the new QE will be "based" on the Vicky. So, that menas folks the ship will be another Vista with cloned interiors from the Vicky. With the Vista Class the Vicky was the first to have her stern built up with more cabins, all Vista with Holland America, Carnival and Costa will have that done as well. That will greatly enhance the "cloned" effect throught Carnival.

  • There you go again! Say something positive for a change! Enjoy the ships for what they are....great fun and relaxation. I'm sorry but the Queen Mary and Titanic are long gone.

  • You miss my point Colemanhead. It isn't any desire to bring back the past at all. Rather, with billions at its disposal Carnival continously prostitutes the same designs over and over again. There is no attempt at being original or raising the bar within its new builds. They are all a simple "one off" of the previous new build. The Vicky is one of the most unattractive vessels when you see how many elements from P&O,Costa,Holland America and Carnival. It's all the same in varying degrees.

  • Carnival has become an adjective describing the state of the industry today. There is so much likeness throughout ALL of Carnival they make Royal Caribbean look distinct and attractive. The competition has taken note, look at Celebrity,NCL and Disnay. The likeness is almost non existant to the competition. Even Seabourn will lose its distinct yacht like approach to its market with these huge 650 Carnival built newbuilds. Carnival continously insults the market with its approach.

  • Ok Colemanheald you win. Leave to Carnival to out do themselves for capitolizing on something as devoid, cliche and parodied as the Queen Victoria. The new Eurodam docked in Southampton, a clone of the Queen Victoria, has been uh hun "improved" with a new built up stern. The newEurodam is literally in the shape of a floating brick! This new vessel actually makes the prostituted, over used and heavily recycled look of the Queen Victoria, look nice.

  • Vista has been prostituted to Carnival and Costa Cruises. Her tandem crossing was not good for her, she showed she's not made for winter Atlantic. She made the QE2 slow down to keep her in tandem. The Vicky is in no way an original design. Every element is borrowed to the point where it's hard to think of anything original about her. A total disappointment.

  • That's on BIG ship!
