I think within the concept of the whole disc, this song is from the perspective of a ghost that isn't conscious that he is a ghost. Thus, longing for sunlight to waken him up from his perceived slumber.
Of course it is also a metaphor for depression as well. Great song!
@KadajusFunToy im still not hearing that, i was thinking "so whatever" made sence because the song to me is quite obviously about depression but with some hope left, looking for the sunrise/thinking it will get better (of course everyone does get something different from every song) i was thinking of it as the little voice in your head telling you to give up on that hope and to just get use to misery and indifference
