  • Love those switches, Jewel! Work that skirt.

  • Oh my days.. ._.

We're doing this dance at school! D:

  • A couple of front twist swivels and a few swingouts..........ho hum.

  • This is Jitterbug, straight from the War Years. Give credit to the GI's for this. Dean and Jewel could have passed for my wife and I then in looks and style.

  • they cannot do it better than the ones that created it

    AFRICAN AMERICANS BABY

  • true that...like these two dudes...check out my vid of "Paulo Nutini new release pencil full of lead with Al Minns and Leon James dancing"

  • The text say "Lindenburgh", which sounds more like the German zeppelin/president Hindenburg. It should be Lindbergh...

  • need more

  • The swing outs look kind of different than the ones I'm used to. There seems to be not enough "face off" / "square off" time at the third and fourth count. But what do I know.

  • No, you're right...You gotta remember back then Lindy Hop was a "negro dance".

Because of the state of race back then (seperation and mandated racism), the dances varied in style from black to white.

  • Well there's a number of opinions on this but...

Jitterbug is another name for Lindy Hop which gained popularity after Charles Lindburgh fell from grace. It is more often used to refer to Dean Collins Style Lindy Hop (or Hollywood Swing).

More correctly it refers to a swing dancer (because they look like jitterbugs).

  • And thy say white ppl can't dance LOL

  • Sorry, this is a Jitterbug, not a Lindey Hop. I was a teenager in the 40s and danced this. The Andrews Sisters are singing Bounce Me Brother with a Solid Four.....serious Jitterbug

  • The Jitterbug is a spin off the Lindy Hop which was created by African Americans in Harlem.

  • Actually, "Jitterbug" is just an umbrella term, like "swing" which encompasses all swing dances, including and especially Lindy Hop. :)

  • Ah. Thanks.

  • I could watch this (specific clip) for hours!

  • Damn crackahs stole that dance!

  • TOTALLY LOOKS LIKE CONGOLESE DANCING! CHECK OUT THE RELATED VIDEO - !!
