australian ballet performance

Beautiful performance, but I cant really see ballet in this. Like ballet ballet. It just looks more like "gymnastics ballet" or even figure skating kind of thing. I just feel that the dancers talent is wasted, which is a shame, because they have SUCH talent....

she may be on pointe but it didn't look like ballet. even in modern ballet there is a very specific 'ballet-language' being used. There was not one moment in there that was purely 'ballet'

Incredible!!! blondebunhead, I agree. SYTYCD should feature more ballet. I know a lot of their dancers are not ballet dancers on pointe, but oh how beautiful would it be to have those super athletic dancers do a true ballet piece like this.  Gorgeous!!
