There are people that have photographic memories that are so vivid, that they can literally recall and read the page in their mind. The information is not stored in their mind, it's actually a picture of each page that can be read later. Amazing. Kim Peek is a savant who has this ability. Search his name.
There exists no such thing as a "photographic memory". This is merely a term coined up during a time when scientists and doctors did not have a well informed understanding of the human mind. Believe it or not they still know very little of this magnificent complex organ.
@imahavedat What is your definition of 'photographic memory' then? Scientists have proven that some people can literally see and read a photo of what they saw in their mind. That sounds like photographic memory to me. How do you explain the abilities of someone like the late and famed savant Mr Peak, if there is no such thing? His abilities are very well known and documented. His absorption of the material is amazing and could only be done with a photographic memory.
The mind blowing thing is how long it would take to encode all the associations. He has to systematically think of different objects in places that don't collide with other objects. WOW
Well you must have many locations to store such informations, and obviously each location cannot be too small otherwise crowding a particular site would be detrimental to your ability for recall. Larger objects usually with mass are best, infact a mixture of small and large. Also the journey should be varied to help with recall and avoid confusion.
The very day after watching this and thinking - "chasuble", what a ridiculous word, never gonna hear that again - a question came up on a quiz show called the "Eggheads" asking: Which of the following is a sleeveless outer garment worn by Catholic priests...
@jameswp266 He explains it in the end. Im no expert but it seems to b a combination och things. Every number corresponds to something visual that can be separated into ordered areas, like the Cicero-method, where he places all the words. Then linkes meaning to them.
I was wondering how he remembered the spelling, as it seems he didn't go over that.

danjam, why the doubt?
If you'd looked into this for about 5 minutes, you could discover his technique and see that, though it is amazing, it's far from impossible.
