Yeah, I have been whinging about that since the channel got started. Finally unsubbed when it looked like form had won out over function.

This is NOT supposed to be an entertaining channel. I have a limited amount of time to watch vids and I don't need any of it wasted on pointless intros to pieces that are supposed to be informational. If I wanted entertainment I'd turn on the TV for Faux News.

Perhaps I am expecting too much. lisasimpson pointed out that YT ignores their own "community counsel" or whatever the whitewash thing was that they put together last year, so why would they pay any attention to a channel that has less than 1500 subs and only gets a few thousand views?

I can think of no way to influence YT management in any way, positive or negative. I have even offered my technical expertise to YT (at regular rates, of course) to fix site problems. So far nothing.

I think Utubia is more of a pseudo-government, with unnecessary bureaucracy. The founder was very hostile because YTA was not an "authorized" project. I thought it seemed like self promotion, and that was never the goal of this. There are people that feel their concerns will never be heard. This is their proverbial megaphone. When their voice is loud enough, things may be accomplished for all of us.I do appreciate the feedback, and would expect nothing less than your candid opinion.

What a killer video. You are right, YouTube didn't hold up their end of the deal, and I think going back to the 1-month term is a great idea. It's a SERIOUS commitment that most people won't want to do. I know I was sitting on the fence about it for a while, waiting to see how the viewers were going to vote on the term length! But I did it anyway, cause I love this site!
