  • In the beginning of the scene you hear Buford yell.."JUST KEEP YOU EYES OUT FOR THAT BANDIT BASTARD!!!!" LOL...

  • I've always wondered what the song in the background of this scene is. Never have figured it out.

  • I'M IN A GOD DAMN HURRY LMFAO I MISS THESE OLD CLASSIC MOVIES THEY DONT MAKE EM LIKE THEY USED TO

  • yeah funnyest part i like when he all done he says Thank you nice ladie then he tells the bandit who hes after and why lol.

  • this was filmed at the Old Hickory House in Decatur,GA my brother worked there in the mid 70's

I remember they had great fries but for the life of me I dont remember a Diablo sandwich.

  • I've had Diablo sandwiches heaps of times before but didn't know what they were until now.

  • No matter how busy you are, there is ALWAYS time for hush puppies!

  • Anyone know what a "diablo sandwich" is?

  • @falcondriver100 1 lb lean ground beef, browned. 1 (1 ounce) packet taco seasoning mix (follow directions as to adding water).1 cup whole kernel corn (frozen or canned)1 cup diced tomato, lettuce, and sour cream. 4 burger type buns, toasted. Directions: 1. Combine all ingredients except lettuce and sour cream in a pan for 15 minutes to an hour, the longer the better. 2, Lay out lettuce on bottom of toasted buns, scoop out even amounts of meat mixture onto buns, follow with a dab of sour cream.

  • @sandytinky Thanks. Sounds like a 'taco burger'!!

  • @falcondriver100= Probably alot of hot sauce.

  • Buford doesn't realise he is talkin to the Bandit... XD

  • Dumb sum bitch...

  • fyi- diner waitresses for the most part don't think it's very funny when you burst in and holler this order at them. It's still fun to do though.

  • @Koldeman I gave that order to my favorite Starbucks barista a while back. She did a double-take and then actually knew where the quote came from!

  • This movie made me believe that Southerners were all warm and cuddly.

  • i seen this like 9999mill times lmao

  • cost $5 to get something on the dollar menu

  • Oh man.. That Buford T Justice was quite a character! Never knew who Jacky Gleason was until recently. I have seen this movie as a kid, but didn't really know what was going on. After watching it as an adult, it sure is a funny classic. We need more Buford T Justice in this world.

  • This is the best scene !!!!!

  • ah..let me have a diablo sandwich , a dr pepper, and make it fast i'm in a godddam hurry!

  • Southern road-kill immersed in a seasoned, spicy sauce= Diablo Sandwich? :-)

I saw this classic on cable tonight (6/9/2011). Still one of my favorite flicks of all-times (even though its a deep southern vehicle and I'm a Kings County boy--like ol' Herbert--for life). Seen it hundreds of times over the past 20 years. And this scene will always be one of my favorites. Sally was FINE--then jumped behind the wheel and got gangsta!!! :D

    $1.50 for a meal like that...LOL!!! I'm making burgers...

  • ...on my Foreman Grill tomorrow night. So that's telling 'ya sumthin'! :-) It crazy that just a litle over 30 years ago a 2-cheeseburger grub meal--with drink--could cost a person under 2-even. Nowadays, it's almost $10 for that same exact shit. Maybe more! 'Ya might as well cook your meat (PAUSE!) on a Foreman Grill or something like that. I swear, once we invent that time machine, I'm going back to NYC-1977 and NEVER coming back!!!!!

  • [insert quote from what we all just seen here]

  • buford: YOU WANT SOMTHIN

    Jr: hushpuppies daddy

buford: WE AIN'T GOT TIME FOR THAT CRAP

    LOL best scene ever

  • "hush puppies, daddy".

  • @Squank63 lol

  • Too bad you can't find two cheeseburgers for a buck- fifty anymore, even at McDonald's

  • @SWMod29A Mcdonalds makes the crappiest fast food on the planet, so its no wonder you can't find a burger there...

  • LOVE the BURP PART ! !

  • Bufod T Justice - Ya want something ? !

Junior - Hush puppies daddy !

Buford TJustice - We Aint Got Time For That Crap ! ! !

    I love that part.

  • @dasyization I'm glad someone else found that funny! I was beginning to wonder about my sense of humor.

  • @dasyization me and my sister would do that line every time we went on a road trip!!! funniest trip ever!!!

  • the sheriff in the james bond movies last name was pepper the first names escape me

  • @evilcraig359 Sheriff J.W. Pepper. He was in Live and Let Die, and The Man with the Golden Gun.

  • @Cigaretteboatsrule Was he the sheriff in Superman II as well?

  • @TheSunManho, no it's not the same person. I know that for sure. If you ever seen "The Honeymooners", that's Jackie Gleason who plays Ralph Cramden, who in later years would play Buford T. Justice. He also did his own television variety shows and movies and made music. Jackie Gleason was brilliant to say the least. He was named "The Great One" by Orson Wells.

  • They should have had both of them in cannon ball run 1-2 all so doing them same thing.

  • Gleason is so funny in these movies every time i watch them he makes me laugh him and Jr.

  • I freakin' love this movie. And Buford's hand gestures are awesome

  • "YOU WANT SOMETHIN'"?

  • "Thank you nice lady" classic manners that

  • GIMME A DIABLOE SAMICH AND A DOCTA PEPPA

  • A Diablo Sandwich is a hot link smothered in hot sauce..

  • @429thunderbird whats a hot link? hot sausage?

  • LOL hush puppies daddy

  • Daddy my hat flew off

Well, I hope your god dam head was in it!

  • cracks me up every time...although I have no clue what a diablo sandwich is

  • Hushpuppies Daddy...

  • what exactly is a diablo sandwich?

  • @SuperRobbie1976 exactly the point to that line, thats why it looks like she just gives him a burger

  • @SuperRobbie1976 im guessing its some sort of cheeseburger sandwich

  • First time i saw this scene i nearly pissed myself laughing! One of the golden classics in comedy! And has one posted earlier Jackie Gleason stole this entire movie!

  • Jackie Gleason is brilliant in this. He stole this movie.

  • i'm in a got damn hurry! lmfao!

  • you son bitch haha never gets old

  • jackie gleason came up with this scene. It wasn't written in the script. He was the one who suggested that he end up next to the bandit, and not know it was him.

  • I want a time machine

  • We got no time for that CRAP!

    LOL

  • $1.50 for a hamburger and a Dr. Pepper?!!!

  • absolute classic, they don't make 'em like this anymore

  • Damn I wish I could get two cheese burgers for a 1.50. Thanks to inflation its 4.99 for a hamburger special. We got no time for that CRAP!

  • @txcountryboy01 lol i agreed 2 man

  • @txcountryboy01 That was $1.50 for TWO cheeseburgers!! .75 cents a peice!

  • @falcondriver100 if McD's prices were that cheap today everyone in Logan, QLD would be outside the drivethru ordering two cheeseburgers.

  • "I'm in a god damn hurry!"

    LOL

  • B:You wanted Something?

    Jr.hushpuppies Daddy!

B:WE GOT NO TIME 4 THAT CRAP!!!

  • We ain't got time fo' that shit! (in the theatrical version)

  • @twitchykun

    LOL! That's even funnier!!!

  • my favorite scene!! I love the Sheriff and his son here. I can randomly say this in front of my parents and they'll laugh with me knowing what it's about and other people will just stare like what the hell are you talking about.

    "You Want Something?"

    "HushPuppies Daddy."

"We ain't got no time for that crap, dumb sumbitch."

    "Thank ya nice Lady."

  • That's great!! Thanks for posting this.

  • Jackie Gleason, one of our best comedians of all time. I miss him!

  • I think he sways - You're going away til your gray (like going to jail).

Also like- I'm chasin' a gotdam maniac!

  • The best line from this movie is still, "I GONNA BARBECUE YOUR ASS IN MOLASSES!"

  • "Hello there, lollipop...guess who's drivin' up yo' elementary canal..."

  • @vccstudents I GONNA BARBECUE YOUR ASS IN MOLASSES!" IS ONE OF THE GOOD LINES BUT THERE'S ONE MORE AND THAT'S (YOU SOME BITCH)

  • Yes, it had some classic lines. Nobody's going to make Sheriff Buford T. Justice look like a possum's pecker."

Then there's, "The Germans got nothin' to do with it!"

  • "YOUR GONNA WAIT TILL YOUR GREY!!"

  • "bank-wobbin'........... dat's babyshit compared to what diss dude is doin"!

  • I always wondered what a diablo sandwich was. My best guess was always some sort of barbecue pork with a hot and spicy sauce since barbecue pork is popular in the south. Does anyone know for certain or if it was made up just for the film?

  • It is a tex mex style hamburger.

  • "YOU WANT SOMETHING? Slush puppy dad. WE GOT NO TIME FOR THAT CRAP, Som bitch."

  • this movie is KING Of comedy movies

  • Comment removed

  • LMFAO! :D

  • thank you nice lady!!!!!!!!

  • Maybe my favorite comedy line ever!

    Diablo samich...pretty damn funny.

  • We got no time for that CRAP!!!

  • One of the greatest comedic performances in history!

  • I have seen this film at least 50 times and this scene is the funniest!!! I'm 40 years old and smokey and the bandit came out when I was about 8, I have never tired of this movie and it's just an absolute classic! Gleason and Reynolds in this scene are perfect together! Could be one of the funniest scenes in comedy film history!!!!! They sure don't make em like this anymore!

  • I agree. I love this movie and when he orders his food and says he's in a goddamn hurry...that may be the funniest line in the movie....

  • Wasn't this the same scene where he comes out of the bathroom with toilet paper stuck to his shoe?

  • @gamewizard no it's toilet paper stuck to his sun glasses he came out the rest room wiping his sun glasses off with the whole role of toilet paper behind him he says thank you nice lady ..(sure thing) and walks out the door put his glasses on with the toilet paper stuck to his glasses the waitress yells woo hoo sheriff she shows him he got toilet paper stuck to his glasses she starts to roll it back up he looks at her and says (nice ass) and gets in the car (the end) lmao

Justice - We havent got time for that "C***P "

  • I saw this clip and became curious as to what a Diablo Sandwich was. I downloaded the recipe and served it at lunch at the firehouse. The boys loved it, and wanted to know where I got the idea from. When I told them they couldn't believe it. Long live Smokey and Jackie Gleason, this movie is an oldie but goodie. Thanks for posting.

  • Diablo Sandwich -- Tex-Mex style

1 pound Morning Star ground meat

1 packet taco season mix (follow directions as to adding water)

    4 burger type buns, toasted

Combine all ingredients except lettuce and sour cream in a pan
