  • what were u using? a hali jig

  • hey just wondering if you could tell me what sort of depth you usually find perch depending on the time of the ice fishing season and water temps?

  • i find that if u bounce it on the bottom that lethargic perch will take the jig

  • ur suppose 2 jig then stop 4 a few seconds

  • Nice Perch Fishing!

  • fancy camera

  • Wouldn't slower and closer to the bottom work better?

  • jajajajja ke wapo el video

  • I wish I had one of those under water cameras! Fishing would be sooooo much easier lol.

  • You can now get one at walmart with small TV for about $125.00

  • perch usualy hug the bottom like walleye but are usually 1 foot off the bottom as well and magoots or rubber nymphs work as well

  • lol 2:08

  • lol funny as hell

  • dont jig the hook to much i found they dont like that i have a camera and i also fish perch

  • how do u fish perch we have them in our local lake but i don't know where or how to fish em' can u give me some tips

  • I have the most luck in shallow water near weeds using live bait and maggots on small jigs.

  • I find using a jig head with a minnow (salted hold together better and last longer) and a stinger hook through the tail works great. Set it on a rock with little movements to simulate a minnow feeding. If you use a woven line you can feel it scraping on the rocks which makes it easier to prevent it from getting hooked in the rocks.

  • where did u get that underwater camera from cause i want one?

  • damn that must be frustrating seeing them attack your hali and not the maggot/waxworm, i also have a camera and it frustrates the hell out of me seeing them look at it and leave lol

  • nice perch im just getting into ice fishing and i was wondering if you could give me some tips

  • Sure, fish near structure like the edges of weed beds or along changes in lake depth (drop-offs). In weedy flats find holes or pockets with no weeds and fish the perimeter. Use live minnows on tip-ups and maggots on small jigs.

  • 4-6lb? its like as thin as my hair! are u sure?

  • Our perch only get up to 2 lbs so 4-6 is strong enough for me. With small lures light line is best for action because its more flexible, also they won't see it. If you hook into a bigger fish you can still land it, as long as your drag isn't too tight. I do use 8lb test on my larger set up with heavy lures.

  • but there is no snow in my country(singapore)so there is no ice fishing..mostly fishes that caught here is..bass,queenfish,stingray,shovelnose shark and puffers..the smallest i noe is this silvery fish..its size is as long as an adult finger and very thin..i have been using handline and not reel to catch bass and stingrays. So i bought a reel reccommeded by experts which is the shimano reel and i bought the small 1..and im up to catching bass and rays so what kind of lbs should i use?4-6 to thin

  • salt-water ... 25 lb. or more, ask who sold you the reel, it should say on the side of the spool what sizes the manufacturer suggests, if there's 3 sizes go with the middle

  • tank you for yr precios time and sorry for asking many questions..appreciated it im rating u 5/5..lol

  • I use 3lb for perch and bluegill. 4lb for crappie.

  • do u noe about a shimano reel...i got a small 1 but dont noe wad lbs of line to use..pls advise me

  • 4-6 lb line should work

  • you dont use that spoon from the beginning any more do you?...they kept biting at the spoon instead of the hook i wont be using those...cool vid...nice perch!

  • Sure I still use it, its a great lure. That school may have been feeding on baitfish so maybe that's why they were hitting the spoon and not the maggot.

  • well you seem pretty knowlegable about ice fishing so ill take your word 4 it.. any way i cant wait for HARD WATER!!!!

  • interesting. i went this morning to a local church pond. i was using waxworms on a small jighead. I did ok, caught some fish but they were all small. One decent largemouth only about a pound but not bad for my first time ice fishing

  • That's cool!

  • what are you using for bait? waxworms?

  • I had mousies (maggot w/tail) and Gulp maggots

  • what would I use for pike?

  • shiners are your best bet for toothy critters

  • what kind of line should I use? I hear around 25 pound test for pike, and what should I use for a leader?

  • 25lb is good, for leader most people use wire but I like flourocarbon
