As soon as you said you cant really find people with hair like yours i thought finally i found somebody with hair like mine lol. The agony of trying to even get a comb thru it, im getting dreads soon though
OMG I love Africana too! Everything about Africa, the history, the people, the land, the resources, I could go on and on! I, too, have ankhs and cowrie shells everywhere, and have made plenty jewelry pieces from them, lol! Your son's hair is so beautiful. Thanks for the vid! (btw, the trick to making the ring fit for a particular size is to start off making it a size larger. By the time you're done, it will have shrunk to the correct size. hope that helps!)
This was a very informative video. Even though i don't think you were trying to give us an educational lesson. The Knowledge and facts just flowed right out of your mouth. It wasn't preachy or forced on us. I loved it! The genuine passion for Africana definitely shines thru. Your son was adorable and I love the fact that he liked Andre's video. I love Andre too! :) cute earrings too! Take care!
this video reminded me of a previous video where you mentioned your thesis and research......Has your thesis been published? I would love to read it :)
i really like the educational/ history part of your video do you ever think you might do more videos on just historic thing from africa? i know we can see alot of it on you tube but not from a african american women or do you have a blog with more topics like this video?
the earrings are so so cute! and your hair is like bagabooom!!!! if you get another chance to, do go to Africa, make sure to cruise by West Africa, which is a bit different to the East. the hair is lovely and little man's too, his braidout was fabulous, wish i had seen what his flat ironed hair looked like lol at him "playing" the guitar and singing! :)
Hot earrings and I love Africa too. I have never been, but I am planning a 2-3 month trip within the next year or so. I got places to visit and things to do!! OMG it is such a peeve of mine also when people think Egypt = Africa; there is so much more. Do you know about "Call & Response" in music? This is another "African" influence in music all over the world. Lol @ Femi and his "Hey Ya" look. One day he may pick up the guitar and surprise you with being in tune. :)
I also love everything Afrika. I just finished an English Lit degree and I want to go onto specialise in African written and oral literature. They are slacking a bit with the options of subjects regarding this area in the UK :(
Im looking to buy some earrings from ToniaDaly - im just waiting to find out what the metal she uses xx
Loved the history lesson. I love history but I don't know enough African history. I may have to take a class or two. Your hair was cute in the braids.
I've been planning to go to Ghana for the past few years also but something comes up every time. Hopefully by the summer I'll be on my way! Hope you get your chance to go!
he's adorable : )

My goodness! Your son is soooo beautiful! I have no idea why I'm surprised, his mommy is too.
I hope you told him that Andre3000's hair is not naturally straight. That braidout was far cuter than any straight style would be.

Can you make more videos about being an Africana Historian? Research that you've done in the past, book recommendations, etc.?

Lovin' the Lion's Mane....LOL
I've been to Ghana,Togo and Benin
The countries are right next to each other
but only Ghana is englsh-speaking and
colonized by the British....Togo and Benin
is French-speaking and colonized by the French.
Ghana has signs all around the country that say "One People"
That's Nkrumah's legacy of PanAfricanism living on today.
Ghana's been the most staple Black African nation as a result.
But I digress, saw little to no natural hair in Africa....hmmm,interesting
