An amazing musician who seems to speak through the piano. Hearing this medley makes me grieve his passing all over again. I don't know that there will ever be another one like Oscar. Fortunately we have his energy and his music captured on videos which give us a hint of his greatness.
It dawned on me after watching this video that some people are born geniuses, I have never felt so compelled in my life after watching Oscar Peterson play those keys like he was possessed.
Awesome - and, sorry, 5 stars is not enough. This period was the pinnacle of an extraordinary career. Caviar without any egg or onion - solo, unaccompanied, perfection.
When he gets going, he really gets going. Those keys musta been burning hot after he played them.
