If you care to thoroughly search you will find much contention regarding the peer review process. My own view is that it does not work and and should revert to the tried and tested publication method.
Peer review takes place behind closed doors.
Alternatively, published findings and subsequent published rebuttals are publicly disclosed!

Except that of the many things Climategate brought out, one was that 'peer review' had no meaning. Journals that insisted on printing 'skeptic' articles or articles with science 'questioning' global warming were threatened to be downgraded in credibility, and if they continued, removed from the list of ''credible' scientific journals. Scientists did not get fair reviews by peers, having to edit, spin, conform, or not get their work published- not getting to return the favor.

If you remove government you don't leave "the people" in charge, you leave corporations in charge. That is what we had in the 1800's with child labor and terrible pollution. I don't know about you but I don't want to go back to the 1800's.

I lost all respect for Yorke and co. If you know me you'd know I support preserving the environment and [wild]life (actually I am rather militant about it), but this CO2 hysteria couldn't be any more absurd. For anyone that hasn't done their own research go do some in-depth reading on carbon dioxide (historic levels, effects - plants grow faster and are healthier the higher the levels are which equals more O2 for us, etc., etc.)... this is just pathetic.
