Ugh, the crazy old guy was saying once marijuana gets legalized so will meth. That's just silly. Alcohol is legal. According to his logic, wouldn't meth be legalized by now? and in my opinion more people act out violently when drunk than when high.

Legalizing hemp and legalizing medical marijuana are different issues. Smoking hemp will get you as high as smoking a rope. This is not to disagree though. The legalization of hemp as an agricultural crop is a far more important issue than medicinal marijuana. For all the benefits you have pointed out, it is ridiculous that this highly useful and renewable plant is outlawed. We can import hemp-made products from other countries (who profit hugely), but can't grow our own?!?. So why the block?

From a native Oregonian (where—comedians joke--you can't pump your own gas, but you can smoke all the marijuana you want): it has nothing to do with people getting high. It has to do with control certain industries (ahem--OIL) desire to maintain to maximize profitability. As long as we keep the debate focused on smoking weed, which will always remain highly debatable and challenging to resolve, we are distracting ourselves from the key reason that marijuana and hemp are not legal to grow.

That's nothing here in Canada a man Rick Simpson who cured his Cancer and was all over the news for helping over a thousand people by growing it and making the oil and feeding the people free of charge, he took a leap of faith and started curing Cancer and Diabetes and other illness's of lots of people, apparently when you eat it in raw form instead of smoke it it has miraculous abilities.
