I want to see this, Rango, and Rio. I heard this movie was pretty disappointing (the trailer made it look way better than it is apparently), but I'll just wait for it to come on free on OnDemand just to see if I'll feel the same way. Definately can't wait to see Rango though.
I wanted this movie to fail so bad because I hold a grudge against Illumination Entertainment.... BUT OF COURSE! I knew tons of dumb little kids would instantly fall in love with the cute factor and ignore the clear suckish factors. Come on where are the decent family animations of the year? I won't count Rango, although it was good, not for kids.
I'm betting that Rio's gonna be the first movie to make over 200 mil. domestically this year. Getting rather excited for it.
"You know, we can leave the insurance companies out of this."
God DAMN animation is SO DUMB these days. Not in actual plot, the idea for this movie and the explanations (not seeing the movie yet) seem quite clever. But the jokes and stuff that lasts an instant but stays on you for a long time get so stupid! Thank Gawd for Rango!
Favorite for the comment on the idiocy of taking Biggest Loser combatants to see a candy movie.
@IDaCashman LOL I thought the same thing. Just looking at there reactions were funny enough. I bet they were thinking "Yeah some reward. No sir's this is in fact, punishment. No, TORTURE, for the fact we were terribly overweight. You have my guarentee I will never eat a jellybean again. Thank you."
Hey Kristian, to add on to the earlier question about you not liking horror movies, is it just current horror, or do you just dislike the genre as a whole? Do you like any older horror movies that are considered classics?
James Marsden is above Hop but to each his own. Maybe he wanted to make a movie for his kids.lol Are you guys gonna review that cameron diaz movie where she plays a substitute teacher or something. i saw that trailer and i was like, the schmoes would tear this apart. lol
I was gonna see it until I heard Russell Brand is in it. I ain't afraid to admit it...I don't like Russell Brand. Feel free to post ur arguments that I will mostly disagree with as replies.;...
It's basically the same thing as Alvin and the Chipmunk, don't you think? same plot.
a guy that's having problems comes and finds a rabbit/some chipmunks and they make a mess all over the place, but at the end everyone loves each other... :/
@cweffer : My thoughts exactly. The scenes even feel recycled with the Rock Band drums scene almost paralleling the scenes with the Chipmunks running around playing with Christmas gifts and even the scene that the bunny gets kicked out is reminiscent of Chipmunks. That, and he's a talking animal who has musical talents. What can ya do though?
I saw the same product placement in Biggest Loser and I was upset. Mostly because it was blatant but Hop is a kids movie so why put an ad in for a show that mostly adults watch? I can understand slipping the Hop promotion during the Saturday/Sunday morning cartoon section they have. I don't know, this movie gave me doubts from the moment I heard the title. I will stick with Roger Rabbit for watching crossovers between live action and cartoons thank you.
You guys suck. Insidious was better than this piece of trash where candy makers tried to sell more candy to kids and their gullible parents. You should have reviewed that instead. Like Easter hasn't been molested enough.
I don't blame you for refusing to watch "Insidious".
If I even see another frigging trailer for a paranormal /horror/ apocalyptic/ satanic movie I just may smash my television. It actually really bothers me that so many of those type movies are flooding the market presently. The Powers That Be are behind this, and are conditioning the young to become interested/ involved in the occult. Seriously, this is my theory. Laugh at me all you want, but I really believe it.
I'm not sure little kids will want to go see or understand Source Code. I had to endure watching inception with two boys ages (i'm guessing) 4 and 6 in my aisle who alternated being asking their mother to explain what was going on and telling her how bored they were.
@luisalexander70 I LOVE Aliens and that is more sci fi to me. When I say horror, I go more with slasher films like Saw and those types of movies. I actually dug Paranormal Activity and Orphan
SAW single handedly killed the slasher genre. Slashers used to be thrilling, funny, and campy. But now they're overly serious, disgusting, and worst of all: boring.
@schmoesknow So thennnnnn WHY don't you want to see Insidious? It's not aslasher film, it's more comparible to if Paranmormal Activity was made like a hollywood production instead of like a home-made film. It's pretty damned creepy too. Actually come to think of it, it's like the love child of Paranarmal Activity and a serious Beetle Juice or something. You should give it a watch.... and then review it so I can be entertained!
Russell brand was a bad choice
