I use iMovie to edit and add music and effects. iMovie came with my MacBook Pro, not with the camera. The Flip Mino comes with it's own software, though it's just basic editing.

Yes, there is a small trash can just above the record button. You can delete anything or keep it on there no matter how old/long/short the clip is. You can also lock the delete function if someone is watching some video on your camera and you don't want them accidently deleting anything since it is touch sensitive and not an actual button!

You mean edit? Yes, you can edit any video, regardless of the Mino. It depends on the software you use, not the camera.

You need to convert the video clips or use the software that came with the Flip. I don't use Windows Movie Maker, I use Final Cut or iMovie, so I'm not too sure how to help you.

The High Quality option has nothing to do with the Flip Mino, that's just YouTube. That option shows up on videos that were filmed with all sorts of cameras, even camera phones. There are three models of Flip cameras though. The Flip Video, The Ultra, and the Mino. The Mino has the best sound/picture quality but some complain because the battery is rechargable, not replaceable. The Ultra is powered by AA batteries. The Mino record 60 minutes while the Ultra comes in 60 or 30.

AJProductions: No, you don't have to do anything to get the HQ option. As far as I know, it goes by your view count, but I could be wrong. I just know that there is no special button to press during upload that will make it pop up.

Yes I agree completely about the quality. It may not be HD but for the little moments I capture with it i.e. friends' parties and random things I see while driving around the quality definitely gets the job done. It goes from off to recording in 3 seconds. Can't get much better than that :)

No, I just uploaded the footage straight from the camera to iMovie then edited the clips, not quality. It's not the editing that makes the quality better. I've also uploaded files straight from the camera to YouTube, no editing at all, and the quality is just as high. The raw footage videos include 7/11 at Midnight and How to Eat Fried Worms, to name a couple. All my videos from this one on are filmed with the Mino. No tricks. :)

the mino is a great concept, but has a bad case of the jitters. video off a digital camera is much smoother I think.

Actually I was driving and filming so that was my hands shaking, not the camera. If you want to see how the cam does on it's own, I just posted a video last night using a tripod so you can judge if it's the Mino shaking or the person holding it. The video using the tripod is "Lollipop", make sure to watch in high quality. :)

It automatically uploads in the highest quality, but YouTube adds the "watch in high quality" to each video. Sometimes it doesn't show up for a few days after it's been uploaded, though.

Yes the zoom sucks, there are a few shots where I use the zoom in this video and I zoomed in all the way, so not very far. But no, it is not hard to make movies AT ALL! It couldn't get any easier, actually, lol.

The flip mino has much better sound quality and its smaller/ thinner than a flip ultra. The sound quality in other flips make a hissing sound whenever you say a word with an "s" in it, and they fixed that with this one. I'd say go with the Mino if youre willing to spend the extra money.

Thank you. I went through the exact same thing before finally deciding to purchase the Mino, that's why making this video was the first thing I did literally the night that I bought it. I made other videos with different lighting using the camera as well. Check my vids called "7/11 at Midnight" "Birthday Shenanigans" or "Happy Birthday, America" if you want. I definitely recommend the Mino :)

The Mino's video is much better, but the sound quality is amazingly different. In the Ultra, when someone on the video says a word with an "s" in it, the camera's audio doesnt pick it up right, and it makes almost a hissing sound. They fixed that in the Mino. To hear the Mino's sound quality, watch my 7/11 video uploaded a couple days after this one.

The program that comes with the Mino just allows you to edit the video, but you can't add music or effects. I use iMovie, but you can use anything. It's SO easy to use. Just drag the .avi files into a folder on your computer then into the editing software you use and you're ready to edit! I love it!
