Why does it seem that once something becomes really popular it always sells out and becomes lame. One Sunday night in 2001 at 10 PM, I happened upon the first night of what we call Adult Swim. I was nine, and my brothers were six and one. Staying up late and watching these shows are some of my fondest memories of late childhood. Home Movies, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021, Space Ghost, The Brak Show, Harvey Birdman, and Cowboy Bebop, from 10 PM to 1 AM every Sunday.
My life has never been better than it was when I was staying up late watching Adult Swim when I was 9 to 11.

The true original fans of adult swim are all either in there late teens or early 20's.... we are the OG's ... I remember watching tsunami just for space ghost cuz all that anime crap sucked... then adult swim came and I almost crapped my pants... please adult swim get back to your roots!!! no more of this hipster tim and eric crap... you owe me I've been there since the beginning... not even seth green can say that beeeoootch

Man, I remember this. I was in 7th grade and my parents wanted me in bed by 11:00 pm. Well, I would always stay up and watch adult swim until 1:00 am or so and be tired at school the next day, but it was totally worth it. Life was so much simpler back then, all I had to worry about was school, eating, sleeping, and which of my firends houses we were going to be hanging out at that night. I guess that old song by cinderella is right "you dont know what you've got, till its gone". *sigh*

This brings a tear to my eye. When I was in 7th grade in 2002 I had a friend tell me about adult swim. I thought "ok, I will see what its all about". I instantly became hooked on shows like ATHF, home movies, and harey birdman. Now sadly, adult swim has taken a step backwards with their stupid live action shows like tim and eric (fags), and other shit shows like that. I want to see new home movies and listen to the never ending wisdom of the great coach McGuirk.

One Sunday night in 2001 at 10 PM, I happened upon the first night of what we call Adult Swim. I was nine, and my brothers were six and one. Staying up late and watching these shows are some of my fondest memories of late childhood. Home Movies, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021, Space Ghost, The Brak Show, Harvey Birdman, and Cowboy Bebop, from 10 PM to 1 AM every Sunday.
My life has never been better than it was when I was staying up late watching Adult Swim when I was 9 to 11.

I had just graduated high school when adult swim first came out, I was so excited.. I was upset when they changed over to the "bumps." I first shouted "You bastards! black screen with white text!." and "That is the cheapest shit I have ever seen!" I guess at this point they have finally somewhat redeemed themselves.

I remember I once told my older sister to see what Adult Swim was when i was 5 years old back when it first launched and she said it was a bunch of old people swimming and that she ended up getting in trouble for staying up 'till 11:00PM on a school night. I believed the getting in trouble part but not the old people part. Now I know O_o
