It truly is impossible to live without money without living off of somebody else's dollar. Every square inch of land on this planet is clamied for by some type of entity.
So yeah, you can live without money. But not without the help of a person who does live with money...
Money isn't bad! It's just the money we use in the world today that is bad, because it has no real value and is being used as a tool to enslave the people. The gold standard is the solution. We need to bring back real value to money. Bring back the gold standard.
Great vid. Some good homesteading rabbit hutches on our channel that you folks might like looking at as well, we are on you tube under Oregon Survivalist group.
Fortunately, I do have about 12 acres of undeveloped Colorado land my parents reserved for me. I was thinking of starting an eco-village that is moneyless with people who are looking to escape from the stresses of everyday life, but I don't have any substantial monetary capital to build anything there. Just a student that was working a part-time job got laid-off because it went out of business. We live in Hawaii, so I can't afford to get a plane ticket there. LOL
Sadly, I grew up with picture-perfect Ozzie and Harriet type parents who are well-to-do, and now I feel obligated to do my part in trying to pay them back for all the love they gave me throughout the years, but, in this Day and Age, it's so hard to accomplish what they did in their time. Now, I'm tired of the rat race, I want to break free, but I worry it might ruin my relationship with my parents because they expected me to Graduate College, Work for Big Company, have my own Family I'm Stuck!
I don't think there's anything wrong with money as a concept per se. What's fucked about today's system is that in order to live a "normal" life, you're obligated to take on a mortgage and spend the rest of your life working to pay it off. It's a death sentence. In generations past, you could grow or hunt food wherever you liked. You can't do that anymore. We are completely dependant on the system to survive. It's a bullshit deal. So I respect men like Mark Boyle who try to free themselves.

At the end of the day money causes creditors and debtors this is a system of immorality for the creditor feels justifyed to any means to collect from the debtor. Money always forces a system of slavery that becomes genocide. So in short money is genocide. Free Sovereign humans should reject money in my humble opinion. Kind of like a liar that becomes a thief who becomes a murderer.
He's fighting a losing battle at the moment. Although there are a lot of angry people out there with the way the current system is run, they remain ignorant and continue on in there mysery because its easier to just accept the way it is. Also, radical change like this and living to survive scares people because they have been used to living by the current system. This would be classed as a huge risk for some people and some people couldnt cut it because living in the sticks is a hard graft.
Great for you. But where did you get the money to buy the farm? The farm is a real ASSET. So while you may be living without money per se, you are most certainly NOT living without assets.
wonderful video, people are slowly waking to whats really going on around them and is realizing tht change is needed for us. eliminate the monetary system. get people more involved with each other and watch how planet earth and our vibrational energies begin to change... we need to go back to baturl time, tht is the only way we can trully save ourselves and come up with free energy which can change us for ever... and for those who dont knw wht free energy is, look up nikola tesla documentary...
Money is not benefiting human society but actually makes more damage. With money based economy it is easy to manipulate human, create monopoly, poverty. Money can also be blamed for most of the society corruption, crimes, earth pollution because it promotes redundant resource usage. I'm also dreaming your style of life. But do you completely don't use money, you have pay for legal land?
Those to laugh at people that are learning to live with out cash.will one day be the one crying.cause they never took the time to learn that you can live just as happy with out money.American are so addicted to the mighty Dollar that when its gone they'll be like a crackhead on a withdrawal.and this all could happen by 2012.Yes I work for money to But I am also learning to there are way to live with out it.just my opinion its call being prepared.dont get cought in the dark with out a light
@japierce15 Absolutely perfect question. It's disingenuous in the EXTREME for this man to claim he is living without the benefit of money for he (or somone, probably his parents) most certainly had to have money to buy the farm, let alone to continue to pay the property tax on said farm.
@cknite I like to think that there is nothing wrong with money -- as this guy suggests there is. It is more accurate to say that he is living with "no expenses", which is almost impossible. Cause if I want sugar, I can't grow it! (Except like molasses) Coffee, none of that either. Unless he doesn't use those things. How does he can his food? U gotta buy at least paraffin or Ball lids and jars. Or does he just mooch off everyone. Hahah ;)
@japierce15 Rothschild central bank corporations create money out of thin air in secret digitized at no cost loaned to the very governments that should have created causing false National Debt. Why create False National Debts? To use this false debt as a control system telling the populations that they have a debt to repay so as to justify's the immoral extorted theft called tax submission control system. Money = Genocide
@TheTime4solutions O I understood it... was just cracking a joke. Here's the deal, I don't believe any of that crap and never will. I'm just going to get richer and they can stay poorer ;) There-- Both Happy...
@japierce15 sorry both not cannot be happy. The plantation owner feels that there is to many fat uncontrollable worthless debt slaves so a plan of depopulaton of the slaves is the agenda. I wish you good luck in getting richer. If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude and safety, than the contest of freedom, I wish you peace. I do not ask your advise or assistance. May your chains sit lightly upon you.
Why deny the fruits of advancement and growth? Feel free to choose to live an un-developed and under-resourced lifestyle, but don't try to change the way the rest of us live our lives. We like technology. We like advanced civilisation.
@007RoyalFlush That is fine to say and there is nothing wrong with advancing technology. But there is a fine line that has been crossed by humanity that is destroying the eco systems of earth. Oil, metals and other elements are being mined and used up for the sake of making money and luxuries and that is the road to the destruction of the world. We are closer to this then you mite think.
@TheOzTruth I completely disagree with you. Mining resources does not lead to the destruction of the world. The cure is advancement, not devolution; going forwards, not backwards. The solution lies with making the consumption of the Earth's resources less harmful, not preventing the consumption of them.
@007RoyalFlush I guess we just keep mining. The world will just replace the oil when its all gone...Oil has no purpose for the earth's eco system, same with the trees and other minerals for stupid luxuries...I guess its ok to turn oil into CO2, metals into rust and other resources into waste, quicker then the earth can replace it with.... Your a fool to think its ok for the world to keep keep going the way it is! Yes we need these resources but not in the mass consumption we are using them now.
How about medical-care/needs when issues of health come up? My grandparents lived & granmas still alive now and living this kind of life, close to natural as can be: using animals for mobility and landwork, water wells, drikable water from natural springs, very minimal electricity consumption (mostly only in winter when days shorter - summer they'd be in bed before even dark!), wood fire cooking and heating house in the same time, etc...but there was & still is the need for money for some??
@sk8erdeeks This has nothing at all in common with the Venus Project. Mark Boyle lives close to nature unlike the future inhabitants of the Venus Project (if it comes about) who will be housed in bleak tower blocks built by robots and watched and monitored.
i love this man, he sends hope to all the world, and as many of you stay with the cool idea... but is anyone living without money? i dont want to generallize BUT, we MUST get on the bus and stop making utopian things for FUCK SAKE! DO SOMETHING, lets fucking DO SOMETHING
Quite lately, I have been struggling with the idea that we "NEED MONEY" to live, if you really think about it, Money is Made up and has no real value we are ultimately wasting our time with it. our lives are way too frantic and we are destroying our earth... I was actually thinking about setting up a community of people like you were talking about and showing people how to live off the land again.
@2tame4fame Check out bill S510. It makes it illegal to grow a garden. Don't take my word for it please check it out yourself. It is also illegal in three states to collect rainwater. Please call your senators and my all means exercise your inalienable rights to grow food and rainwater.
the title of this video is wrong... he says he is living without money... so why is he taking donations then that are given by money donations? if you want to live outside the money and currency system, then do it, but then don't go around saying you are when are taking money from donations. Here again its ambition that is the problem here... he wants to build a community but how can he without taking money donations?
@prettyblackwomen1 : I dont live in Houston, but near it. I would love to live like this (without money). I'm re-learning how to live self sufficiently after being indoctrinated and subtly enslaved for so many years. Its pretty exciting! But, hit me back. I friend requested you, too.
Has Mark thought about what will happen to his free society when water becomes critical and food is sparse? Mark I really hope you spend your charity money on electric high fences and guard dogs rather than large pieces of land! Oh the irony it will be when everyone wants to live on a vegetable patch but the day will come.
I wish I was able to do it. However I'm disable and unless I was to live in a community were I was able to participate on my skills but not having to do the things I wouldn't be able to do on my own without my disability getting worse ... I'm in!
I think that what you are doing Mark is fantastic, for so many years now I have been dissolutioned with society and have felt trapped and enslaved by our way of living and monetary system. It would seem that most of the worlds problems, war, poverty, greed, crime, sickness, depression values, etc etc are related to the paradigm in whic we live. I would at a drop of a hat encompass the way of life that you are living
How can this be done in the UK? Land is rare, very expensive, regulated to the nth degree as to what can and cant be built on it etc etc. The only way I can see me doing this one day is to buy a run down house + a little land in eastern europe. You can still buy homes for £3k out there.
I do dream of living a life like this. I always think its more healthier and more nature dependent, I mean, yea i know we still depend on nature to live even in today's modern society but for me i think, this is such a cool lifestyle. I live in a countryside before in my hometown and I knew someone who lives like this because they are poor and i find it really interesting. I sort'of live like this even though im not poor because I live in a countryside, very peaceful and healthy lifestyle..
I bought the video called " RUBBER TRAMP " and I loved watching people live free.......see you tube for the trailer of Rubber tramps. One line from that Documentary has stayed with me . "Freedom, takes care of almost everything "
Interesting experiment and very sensible intelligent guy. I think the real point is to demonstrate how simply you can live if you have to. Money was originally invented to be a convenient medium of exchange. It is only recently that western societies have come to the point where the ONLY medium of exchange is money. He is making a sensible point, that consumerism gone mad is not sustainable.
deerfromot - thanks for comments. As stated, you just have to look at Asia (India) and Africa to see what a population living without money can do to the environment. Man has created deserts where jungles and forests used to thrive. Why? Animal species wiped out. Why? Take a look at the 1960's communes - living off the land. The land had to be bought or rented. All I'm saying is that resources would not permit with our present population. It is a lovely idea, all the same.
Happen2008 - burn trees for fuel, eat animals - 100,000,000 people. Just won't happen. I suppose a lot of people would die off and then maybe the resources would be sufficient unto the few. I think the reduction in numbers of humans is under way in these times. Who knows what 2012 will bring. Just think about it. All these people competing for resources - what a mess! As someone else pointed out you can't, in these times, live totally without money, as in motor home and land taxes.
If everyone tried to do this there wouldn't be a tree left standing or an animal left alive on the planet. There are many who live this way in Asia and Africa, witness the deserts etc. I would like to think that it could be done, but practically speaking this world would have to change drastically - like humans would have to be reduced in numbers.
@Happen2008 Yeah I agree. That doesnt make sense. Do you realize how many trees and water each person wastes right now? A lot more than this guy does. Plus it's not like this dude can't re-plant trees that he cuts down. And FirstSoul8, i'm not sure if you realize but this is how people used to actually live long, long ago. Before technology, television etc. people had to live off of the land. duh.
hes talking about our population.. according to him humans would kill each other off through starvation and lack of living space which is just plain wrong.
@SOMALIASFINEST It's a possibility if we keep populating the way we do, but that has nothing to do with anything else rather than people having too many kids.
good for you. i hope some day we will all wake up and see what are the beneficies of these kind of communities. we are too dependent of oil and derivates. this kind of living will be useful some day, unfortunetly verry soon.
good for you mark boyle! fantastic idea and love the idea of the internal struggle and not living how you'd like. i know what you mean in an unexplainable way that i bet everybody feels that resistance
Recessions can't exist in a moneyless world. If money had a one to one mapping with resources and services then their wouldn't be recessions either, however that just blatantly isn't the case.
mark is really cool, he was inspired by gandhi and is very clued up, the justfortheloveofit website lets you make local friends, who bake, forage, are into this stuff, COOL
lol, moneyless man what a joke... the guy writes a book and sets up charities to buy land to setup a community! self delusional.
even the fact he is living on someone elses farm at the moment and using the farms tools which cost money and has to pay taxes on the land being stayed on.
@prickett233 Sounds to me like your attack on this guy is just a reflection of your own insecurities. Of course he does the things you mention, that's what you have to do when you are born into a society that gives you no alternative. Regardless of the few concessions he has to make, he'd doing a damn good job of following his dreams and doing something worthwhile with his life. Can you say the same about yourself?
Well, where else would he live eh? There is nothing wrong with using tools bought for you. The entire purpose of this is to show that people need to live more simply :)
I think its absolutely fantastic. IDK, but I think your the ONLY ONE who doubts him on this entire page (pages).
Oh, and the land thing...the government will make you pay wherever you live. If you just go and live somewhere, you are being a squatter and its against the law. Hes trying to keep within the law.
This is all good stuff and I'd love to be able to live without money, but urealy need your own land, that is the issue many people dont have their own land and are pretty much forced into the system of money. How can we get in contact with this guy?
@1PHILLWHITE you can try "justfortheloveofit" and that will get u started. this guy also has a book "the money-less man" it has a heap of websites that are very good

I'm living on very little money, but it's not by choice. I'm just broke-ass poor. lol.

deerfromot - thanks for comments.

As someone else pointed out you can't, in these times, live totally without money, as in motor home and land taxes.
firstsoulm8 1 year ago
If everyone tried to do this there wouldn't be a tree left standing or an animal left alive on the planet. There are many who live this way in Asia and Africa, witness the deserts etc. I would like to think that it could be done, but practically speaking this world would have to change drastically - like humans would have to be reduced in numbers.
firstsoulm8 1 year ago
@firstsoulm8 Why won't there be a tree left standing or an animal left alive? Can you please explain.
Happen2008 1 year ago
@Happen2008 Yeah I agree. That doesnt make sense. Do you realize how many trees and water each person wastes right now? A lot more than this guy does. Plus it's not like this dude can't re-plant trees that he cuts down. And FirstSoul8, i'm not sure if you realize but this is how people used to actually live long, long ago. Before technology, television etc. people had to live off of the land. duh.

@tylerdurdonxx
hes talking about our population.. according to him humans would kill each other off through starvation and lack of living space which is just plain wrong.
SOMALIASFINEST 1 year ago
@SOMALIASFINEST It's a possibility if we keep populating the way we do, but that has nothing to do with anything else rather than people having too many kids.
tylerdurdonxx 1 year ago
@firstsoulm8 not really... we consume more resources when they're readily available.

@firstsoulm8 and yeah you really have to support your arguments for them to be valid.

Recessions can't exist in a moneyless world. If money had a one to one mapping with resources and services then their wouldn't be recessions either, however that just blatantly isn't the case.

lol, moneyless man what a joke... the guy writes a book and sets up charities to buy land to setup a community! self delusional.
even the fact he is living on someone elses farm at the moment and using the farms tools which cost money and has to pay taxes on the land being stayed on.
prickett233 1 year ago
@prickett233 Sounds to me like your attack on this guy is just a reflection of your own insecurities. Of course he does the things you mention, that's what you have to do when you are born into a society that gives you no alternative. Regardless of the few concessions he has to make, he'd doing a damn good job of following his dreams and doing something worthwhile with his life. Can you say the same about yourself?
luciddreamtv 1 year ago
@luciddreamtv
your an idiot to think that me pointing out the truth to this guys story is somehow related to my insecurities.
prickett233 1 year ago
@prickett233 Why so negative about this guy? He's trying his best. I second luciddreamtv's views that this is blatantly about your insecurities.
mikeyo1234 1 year ago
@prickett233 did you hear about his comment about "transmission"?
maryomango 1 year ago
@prickett233
