I bought a few 45s in the day, first one I remember was Rick Springfield's classic from Working Class Dog. Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital, which I never saw, I just never, EVER got tired of Jesse's Girl! Also That's Life done by David Lee Roth is SO CLASSIC, where's the promo video? I recall he pops in a tape in a limo with some Van Halen vid in there as well, Ed in No Bozos T shirt?! I have a hard time recalling without the clip
"Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" is probably the best thing U2 ever recorded (their a pretty good band anyway)! but check out the Rattle And Hum-Version of this song, it sounds even better with the live gospel choir!!!
@devolvedcouk She never was a writer always a vocalist, Ike Turner wrote everything @ first, then it was Phil Spector who launched her career with the hit "River Deep - Mountain High" & the rest is Rock N Roll :)
@devolvedcouk Give her a break for what she has never been a songwriter she is a Diva that's it, in fact most of your Divas all have their music written for them.. it dose not take away any of there talent what so ever, if Divas hadn't sung the songs that they do 99% of those songs wouldn't have done a thing in sales you have to have the right voice for that particular song!

What were they thinking with the back of that Tina Turner sleeve?
Also, it kills me how everyone truly believes "Turning Japanese" is about masturbation. It is amazing how many famous songs are misinterpreted.

@cnbank No matter not knowing the real lyrics, I never ONCE thought it to be about masturbation, I say, get your head outta the gutter, people

Did Tina Turner ever write anything or has she always lived off others?
I used to give her a break because of "cant stand the rain" ... then I found out that was a cover too

Some people just aren't writers. THEY ARE PERFORMERS! If you ever saw Tina Turner perform, you wouldn't care about crap like that.

I just think the people that got her there haven't gotten the props they deserve
devolvedcouk 2 years ago
@funktuall exactly, Sinatra never wrote...
