Hi there! can anyone help? one of my cardinals have swollen gills! It stays at the bottom, still feeds, no unusual movements but is breathing rapidly. I have a 90L(25G) tank, fluval 205 with biomax and amonia remover, 27celcius, choc gouramis, head & tail lights, oto's and plecos in there as well.
Hi there, ur tank looks really nice, do u think u can send me a list of ur plants please? Those r nice looking cardinals too, I just bought ten of them, saving up to buy more.
hey in a 10 gallon tank since cardinal tetras are small and slim, how many can i get? i wanna a tank with just cardianl tetras so someone pls answer me!
i have the same size of tank with 1 betta, 11 white cloud mountain minnows, seventeen cardinal tetras, two neons and one very fast growing Tiger Plecostumus(hes moving into a 100gal tank in the winter.)
from what ive heard to the good thing about tetras is they only grow 1 and half inch tops so in a 4ft you could have tons lol
there must be a particular way of changing the water when it comes to tropical fish because of the whole warm water thing. how could you regulate the clean water going in to the fish tank on a water change?
@kaleluk31 no, but you'll need to include a spot in your tank where they can hide (they dont like bright lights). I personally think cardinals are better than neons cuz they have more red on the bottom.
I love your tank....the cardinals look amazing. How many do you have in there? I'm contemplating a one species tank - cardinals or neons....not sure yet. Will you check out my new set up, not sure if i need some more plants in there? Thanks
hey dude one question is this a good community tank for a 10 gallon 6 neon tetra 1 flame dwarf gorumi 1 silver hachet 2 dalmation mollys 2 guppys 1 rubber lip plec 1sword tail or platy 3-5shrimps and like 5or6 plants?? plzz reply
That not a good mix. Hatchets need 6+ to thrive, mollies prefer harder water ideally brackish. Also neons, gouramis and hatchets ideally need a mature tank i.e. 6 months +
i think u just add many plant.(anubias barteri var nana is great and easy to maintenance and java fern... just tie them on rocks or woods, then u can arrange them anytime u like) and just add 1-2 type of fish, just add neon 15 neon tetra and 5 shrimp + 2 siamese algae eater or otocinclus, it will be a great aquarium... (simplicity is beautiful) ha3
This is probably late but the Gorumi will chase your neons down and kill them. The amount of fish you have listed is to many for a 10 gallon tank as the rule of thumb is one inch of fish per one gallon of water. Unless you use a stronger filter that is say for a 20 gallon tank and you do put those 6 plants in there then just maybe it would be alright. One point to note, The Molly and Guppys are live bearer fish meaning they will have babies so you will need more room.

Also would you be so kind to list all the plants you have?
I have a planted aquarium myself, it's just not as good as I would like it to look like lol. Actually I have two of them. Both are in my videos.

@addochka That's what I thought, I got some black neons and cardinals for my tank.
vampire5003 1 year ago
@addochka they are actually called siamese flying foxes
Dandaldaks 10 months ago
@Dandaldaks Both are actually acceptable.
krap101 8 months ago
@Dandaldaks
WRONG the Siamese flying fox is a different fish. One that doesn't eat algae it's entire life, gets much larger and is territorial.
he has Crossocheilus siamensis
your talking about this Epalzeorhynchus kalopterus

what kind of light do tetras need?
aaronlennon1000 1 year ago
@aaronlennon1000 usually not very bright, but if you have a planted tank you will have to have bright lighting.

At the moment i have Regular goldfish in a 4ft tank
But one time in the future if i give away my goldfish or they die, id think of having tetra and such
Besides the water heater at 75 i believe?
what else would i have to buy ?
What i mean is i have 2 filters gravel etc all that would house goldfish.
Would i have to change the gravel to sand or something?
Is there any other considerations i should think about?
