  • My Colt does the same thing, I generally have to turn in on it top (sights down to the table) to get it to go on, Counter Productive sounding I know, but it seems to work on mine.

  • @The1MOA o yea. I'll take a filipino 1911 over a damn para ordnance any day of the week. They are over priced and plagued with issues. The series 70 colt clone Filipino guns have my vote all day. If I am gonna pay more it has always been Kimber.

  • @HYBRIDCOMBATIVES yeah, those rock island guns look pretty good. i dont like the grips on them, but thats no big deal. if i buy another 'economy' version of a 1911, i will probably get one of the phillipine models. this gun is working fine now though, and i probably wont get another any time soon.

  • @TheMinisterofDefence Rock Island has never given me a problem. Check out the Metro Arms 1911s as well. Rather than parkerization they blue their models. Really good lookin.

  • @HYBRIDCOMBATIVES Are they priced comparable to Rock Island? Bluing would be a big plus if you could get that in an 'economy' model.

  • @TheMinisterofDefence yea. they are all in same price range

  • Another reason to buy a Kimber.

  • Tripod.

  • i know sometimes when i take mine apart to clean it can be a pain in the ass.but overall i love this gun.ive have used it an awful lot and it still fires like brand new

  • @aliensunderground yep, that was the only problem i ever had with it. works fine.

  • i encountered the same problem with mine.but i found by pushing it down my pistol could be re assembled.it also worked fine after that.thanks for the video though.it really sucks when you get a new pistol and something like this happens

  • @aliensunderground I tried pushing it down, but there just wasnt any room for it to go, it was up tight against the frame, but its ok now. One of my favorite guns actually. maybe this will be the only problem I have with it, hopefully. thanks for watching :)

  • send it to me ill fix it for you for free

  • @topper454 thanks for the offer. It's working good now. A nice gun, I just got off to a rough start with it, back when I first bought it.

  • @The1MOA yeah i think if i had to do it over again, i would avoid the series 80 type. if i get another one it will probably be a springfield, but at the moment, its working out fine.

  • @The1MOA yeah, the part was actually too tall for the groove that was cut in the frame. It wouldn't lie flush with the groove. I was amazed that they ever managed to get the slide on the frame in the first place. It seems fine now after they replaced it with good part. The gun works good and I can hit with it pretty well.

  • bummer. Never seen this. I love my Para... sad to see it didn't work out for you :(

  • @MrJmfitch I'm still hoping that it does work out ok. It's been almost 5 weeks now and I'm still waiting to hear back about it. The crazy thing is that its like a 5 dollar part, and for people who know what they are doing (not me yet), it looks like it takes about five or ten minutes to fix. lol.

  • @MrSwiftndeadly ah man, NOW you tell me! lol. They've had it almost a couple of weeks now. My first 1911, and wouldn't you know it, I havn't even fired it yet. Bummer.

  • I know nothing about guns but hope you get it sorted soon bro!

  • That is such a shame it is not sitting flush I hope they get it fixed up for you. I guess if it doesn't fire you will just have to throw the thing and hope you hit whatever you are aiming at.

  • @cheekychickenhead hahaha. I just saw this comment. Thanks Tam, but it's NOT a boomerang! LOl...I love you Aussies, you are so funny!

  • Maybe you should shoot an email to the company :)

  • @rogionline Well, it's not really in my nature to complain. I'm a pretty patient guy when it comes to commericial ventures. And I've worked quality control in the steel industry myself and I know the kind of things that can happen. I'm sure they will fix it and then all will be forgiven. Oh wait, it's my job to forgive them anyway, isn't it? :)

  • If it came apart over it shouldn't it go back together over it? I won't be surprised if the people at the shop show you what to do. Para-Ordinance is supposed to be pretty good. I had to run back to the shop once to have them show me how to get a pistol apart.

I need to get out and shoot something but I'm too busy with the puppy and the garden.

  • @Myk63 You would think so, wouldn't you. I thought of that too. Near as I can figure, they more or less jammed it on at the factory. Had a bear of a time getting the slide off, that was the clue that something wasn't right. There was also a lot of thread patch on part of the rail, so I think they knew something wasn't right and so they fudged it from there. I'm not knocking Para, I've heard both good and bad things about them, but you get that with every manufacturer so I'm not fussed over it.

  • @TheMinisterofDefence Ahh yes, a problem getting it off would point to a problem. Assuming the lever has to be there you'd think they'd simply notch the back. Thread patch? That metal putty? I'd be complaining about that, and I'm a Glock guy so there's very little actual metal on my rails but at least everything is what it's supposed to be.

  • @Myk63 Yep, metal putty. I think they used it to make the fit tighter. One of the so called benchmarks of a good 1911 is whether it rattles or not, but virtually ALL of the combat 1911s rattled like crazy, so thats not a big deal to me. I think Glocks are the most user friendly, trouble free guns out there, but for me, I'm not wild about their grip angles. I do have the Glock 21 (45 cal) but I thought I'd give the 1911s a try. Off to a rough start I guess! lol.

  • wish we had bang bangs in aussie on crooks and cops have them here oh and some farmers

  • @oldsalty65 You might be able to have this one in Oz, because right now, it's just a paper weight! lol.

  • you said you were a priest? LOL! My father owned three rifles. I have a few steak knives

  • @TheDarksEmpyrean Yep, I am, hence my nomenclature "MinisterofDefence". I'm the pistol packing preacher! Maybe you could do one of those cheesy "Ginsu" knife ads with your steak knives. Gotta use what you have to work with! lol.

  • @billyCtv Thanks Billy. I hope it ends up more than just a pretty face.

  • You can probably still pistol whip someone pretty good with it.

  • @HeyMajorSeventh Maaaaaaaybe that's how I broke it in the first place.....shhhhhhh...don't tell!
